I have seen the statement from CC and it seems pretty vague and open to interpretation.
Hoyle is being painted as the villain, but what is the real story? Was CC ever promised big bucks? That is not the club mandate generally so is that the reason?
Is it something else?
Will we ever find out or will it be a Lee Clark mystery fest for a while?
Will Scooby Doo solve the mystery?

It was posted on another thread and liked by Maynard...
'Carlos was told Pipa and Toff (when he goes) won't be replaced and he has to back fill with youth prospects, but that he still had to get playoffs. We were in for Carlton Morris who left Barnsley for Luton yesterday - Luton massively outbid us despite him being Carlos' Number 1 target. Last straw.'

Not really. CC would be well aware that players will leave and no surprise Toff amongst them; Toff is fully replaceable and CC knew that the policy would be no big bucks spent and via loans / your etc etc.....still something not adding up for me

Toffolo and LOB will go. I’m almost certain.

As a manager his stock is at a real high right now. Taken a team from 20th to 3rd on a shoestring. Take 2 or 3 key players away from the squad without properly replacing them and it is highly unlikely that feat will be repeated. If we finished 12th next season, as good an achievement as that would still be, his stock as a manager would go down and his next job would be nothing compared to the sort of job he could walk into now.

It doesn't really matter though does it? Sure it is inevitable that it will be debated but today our position as a Championship football club has been severely weakened. On the back of a massively encouraging season the outlook for next season, and further, has significantly diminished.

What I don't understand is why people talk about 'investment' and 'ambition'. Town owe DH money, not the other way round - so money from player sales will presumably go towards paying him back or servicing the bank loan we still have (I think). Carlos knew that when he took over - nothing's changed - except Carlos's standing in the game I guess.

You're absolutely right but if DH is keen to recover his loans wasn't there a calculation where by investing in Carlos could have delivered the opportunity to recover those loans? Speculate to accumulate and if that failed then use the value of the squad to recover the investment.

What a stupid poll. Just giving a bunch of moaners a chance to have another pop at DH. Great support guys.
What if he had two weeks in Spain and realised another winter in Yorkshire for him and his family was not what he wanted?
Nobody has any idea why he went. Give it a rest.

Lack of funds is the one for me.. hence why it appears we want Schofield to have a go as he will more than likely nod and agree to this and be happy to go with the youth prospects to replace Pipa & Toffolo.

The thing is the fans who are pissed off really arnt asking for much.
We have one decent season after a miserable few years which got the fans back on board.
How hard is it to try and build on that. Even if it doesn't result in another playoff place. Have some ambition, try and show the supporters.
People arnt wanting money thrown at it but to keep the manager (unless a higher level club came in for him with a daft offer) and invest some money into the playing squad to keep us competitive.
Hoyle left the club in the shit and its looking like he's putting us back in it again.

Nobody has any real idea why he has gone. Nobody moans when the great value season tickets are issued but rant because DH doesn’t want the club to run up big debts again, if that is part of the issue. A bit of balance from some posters maybe?

The club have, over the last two seasons, last season especially, laid out how they will proceed. Nothing this season has changed so why does that make Carlos jump ship? PH wasn't putting big money in when Carlos joined and I would be really surprised if DH ever promised he would.

How recent shall we go?
On Monday they said we were signing two players, said one was mentioned and one wasn’t mentioned, I.e. Kasumu and Mahoney. Liked all the Mahoney suggestions when others cottoned on
Yesterday we signed two players.

The club isn't one entity. The club have done this, the club have done that as if its an individual. Hodgkinson and Corberan turned the clubs fortune around on the field and neither are no longer here. Not the club and not Hoyle. You also missed out the key word I used that was mentioned, try. Try and build on. You arnt building on anything by letting the main man to the on field success of last year leave without a whimper.
