Heard JB is still training with the squad and was at the Stockport friendly. Any chance we are going to resign him as a back up to Nicholls? I think he's a solid keeper who would provide good back up.

Would rather we have Blackman as backup than Ryan Schofield honestly. Hoping we sign Blackman up again, and Schofield loaned or transferred out. There may be a keeper there, but he's not of championship quality.

We keep signing young goalkeeper prospects. Surely Bilokapic, Chapman, Bellagambi or Roxburgh could be back up and gain experience with the first team?

Would certainly take Blackman back. Not sure what's next for Schofield but not seen anything to say he possesses the qualities needed to be a football league goalie.

Rather have Bilokapic as backup to give him the experience. Seem to remember he did alright as a sub against Burnley, and he was OK on loan at Hartlepool as well.

If Wycombe and Port Vale looking, he should be starting for them.
Can’t see him coming back just to be back up when got the chance to play.
But yeah I’d rather have him back up over Schofield

Given we're not blessed with finite resources, I wouldn't sign him either.
Have Bilokapic on the bench and sign an emergency loan if (heaven forbid) Nichols is out for more than a game or two.
Wouldn't have Schofield anywhere near.

I would much rather we loan out all of our young prospect goalkeepers; Chapman, Bilokapic, Bellagambi and Schofield to get first-team football so we avoid another Schofield situation.
Unsure if we include loan fees with our players, but if we did that would more than cover for Blackman. Irrespective, I don’t think we are that financially hamstrung that we can’t afford a sub-keeper with experience. We could afford him last season.

Read it today that he is on the verge of signing for Port Vale. 12th club of his career, he is only 28!

Signed for Exeter
Fully expect us to use the young lads as backup and if Nicholls gets a bad injury we’ll get an emergency loan

Signed for Exeter Fully expect us to use the young lads as backup and if Nicholls gets a bad injury we’ll get an emergency loan We'd also need Schofield to be unavailable to allow us to get an emergency loan. Can only get one if all registered goalkeepers with five or more starts (in Prem, EFL, FA Cup or League Cup) are unavailable.

One area of our transfer business this summer (so far) that has disappointed me is how few loans out there have been this time.
All 3 of Schofield, Bilokapic and Chapman would (albeit for different reasons) benefit from loans to clubs in Lg1, Lg2 or National League imo. Unless there's a lack of interest (which would be surprising at least at National League level) it looks like a false economy to keep them here.
Doesn't have to be a major signing, just someone competent that would be ok in case Nicholls was unavailable.

Need to get him back PDQ if the rumour of Nicholls to Leicester is true. He deputised very well for him last season.

Need to get him back PDQ if the rumour of Nicholls to Leicester is true. He deputised very well for him last season. He was OK on the few times he played for us. Blades fans thought he was a poor commander of his area from his time with them, and I saw nothing to convince myself that he was Nicholls like!
