Maybe I’m a cynic but.. Weird how he got “glandular fever “ as soon as the new manager arrived?? Mmf has repeatedly said he’s not here to make friends.. I’m wondering if tino got a “ blast” from the gaffer about his fitness levels.. And didn’t take it too well?? All speculation from the recessed parts of my fertile imagination.. But……… 🍻 I hope that's not true, and to be fair I suspect the glandular fever is genuine. Fitness is Tino's biggest weakness at the best of times. How much of that is something we can live with & have him never last 90 minutes for the moments where he's unplayable, and how much he's physically capable of improving (even without the illness) I don't know. If I saw him lining up for the opposition I'd be nervous though.

Symptoms of glandular fever can leave people feeling week and tired for weeks if not months..
I hope my theory is correct..
Sounds better than the official line..

We dont 'own' him and he clearly is on a path to 'better things' but like all these kids he will have to prove himself capable of playing proper games sooner rather than later. I really dont believe we would make up glandular fever?

Maybe the new gaffer looks at him as something we don't need?

Problem is its a viral infection and post viral syndrome has always been an issue for many. Hope he bounces and comes back into the squad quickly. He can run with the ball, we need as many of those types as we can get. I personally dont expect these loanees to start all or even many of the games if the manager chooses not to but the best teams over 46 games will have made best use of their squads.

If it is glandular fever then you have to feel sorry for the lad. A mate of mine had it at Uni and it knocked him out for a good few month.
Tino's fitness was just starting to show signs of improvement. This could be a big blow for his season.

I suppose looooking at it from another angle..
Maybe he’s had it a while..
But only just got diagnosed..
Might explain why he’s been blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes in some games..
🤷🤷

I’ll admit i was excited about our 3 loan signings.
They are not looking right clever at the moment.

Tino's fitness was just starting to show signs of improvement. This could be a big blow for his season. The thing is... We had him after Christmas last season, when he arrived already injured. He then never achieved anything like full fitness between January and May, and it really looked like it. As a result he was hardly ever picked. Now, with a summer to recover and a full pre-season in which to gain fitness, he still hasn't looked up to much other than a sparkling first half-hour against WBA. My guess is that, as others have said/intimated, he's not going to make the grade. I hope that I'm wrong, not for his or for Chelsea's sake, but because HTAFC need a fully fit bustling, powerhouse midfielder/forward.

The "not going to make the grade" is an interesting statement to make about a 20 year old. What's your opinion on Pat Jones and if he's going to make the grade or not, if you don't mind me asking? Around February 2021 he sustained a nasty hamstring injury which saw his season end. He then missed the vast majority of the 2021/22 season due to ongoing Hamstring problems. He then had a bit of a hamstring issue at the beginning of this season (I think) and after making 5 substitute appearances this season, he's out once again with a Hamstring injury (did you see him stretching his hamstrings out when we were making the substitution to bring Sorba on to take the corner against Cardiff?). Young players are still often growing into their bodies in the early part of their careers

Young players are still often growing into their bodies in the early part of their careers Looking on from the stands, the problem with Tino this season has seemed to be his general fitness levels and not specific body function issues - unless like me, his lungs are buggered 😙. If he's had glandular fever a while ago, then his fitness issues would make some sense, but it seems as though it may be more recent. On Pat Jones, hopefully he can follow the example of Ryan Giggs (in a football way!) as he had major hamstring issues at the start of his career. Lots of yoga sorted him out, as well as missing all Wales unimportant matches 😙😉🤣

Young players are still often growing into their bodies in the early part of their careers I'm guessing he means at the top level, like a few of our recent loans. To be fair, not much does suggest that he's anywhere near Chelsea's level. Then again, it didn't that often with Chalobah.

Sadly he is nowhere near the Chelsea first team.
Look at Izzy brown - hasn’t even got a club.
Best we try and send him back in January along with mbate. Kkh I would keep.

You’d take back a lad that has been injured for pretty much 5 years, doesn’t have a club and has done nothing of note since leaving us?? 😳

Spoke to Tino for 10 mins outside JSS and he was one of the nicest players I’ve spoke to. A bright and intelligent lad. He’s had a really tough time. Hope he does well at Portsmouth

A fully fit Tino walks in to our starting 11. Such a shame for him that he is so injury prone
