Rumour that he could be in the frame to join Pipa in Greece if their Potuguese manager departs

We stuck by him when many wouldn't have - hope he drifts off into managerial obscurity.

We stuck by him when many wouldn't have - hope he drifts off into managerial obscurity. ‘We’ didn’t stick by him at all - Phil Hodgkinson did. There was clearly a greater degree of faith in both Carlos and ‘the plan’ than there ever was in the Two Ron’s. And, judging on his past history, way more patience than Hoyle would likely have shown had he been in charge. Also, using this place as a barometer of fan-base feeling (dangerous I know, given that empty vessels make the most noise) there was a large proportion who wanted him long gone before the season even started last year.

I always thought the 4 year contract and potential large payout had something to do with it.

I think the decision not to sack him was a good one because he subsequently took us to third in the league and within 90 mins of promotion. You don't? Interesting.

Interesting how he's a great manager for the 2021-22 season but not a poor manager for 2020-21. His first season is ignored and every excuse is made for it.

Had he been sacked it would have been an understandable decision, supported by many. He wasn't, and as a result he presided over a superb season for Town in his second. You say I discount his poor first season, yet you totally discount his superb second.

And yet we're still in the Championship. We had a good season, no debating that, but it's hardly up there with all the promotion seasons over the years is it? I've seen people claiming it was better than 2016-17, which really isn't true.
