I think this is another good signing for us and our business this summer really has been decent. We could obviously do with a couple more, namely a CM and a striker and maybe a back-up keeper.

Villa fans say he's absolutely class - can't imagine he's coming to sit on the bench.

Good signing, Will he replace turton or just be a backup? Competition for places. Turton was backup for Pipa this time last year. Or, could have KKH at RWB and Turton on the right of a back 3.

Good luck Kaine 👍

Sounds promising but I'm abit unsure about why we've gone for a right back and where this leaves one of our better players (IMO) in Ollie Turton.
Left back and midfield recruits seemed the priority for me.

He'll know another potential recruit in Simpson who spent the first half of last season at Swindon aswell.

Don’t know how good he is, as I’d never heard of him before he was linked with us. But we were much stronger last season when Turton was part of the 3 centre backs. So if he’s good at going forward and can defend better than Sorba, it might be a good signing as means Turton can play at CB again.
Still need a midfielder though in my opinion

If continuity was the primary reason Hoyle appointed DS, then get back to playing a system that this squad of players were the most comfortable playing in.

Desperately short of quality or depth at LB, assuming Nakayama becomes the LCB in 3, which makes sense. Systems are easy to theorise but our squad balance is a mess to complete an effective and obvious best 11 and formation. That’s why Corberan and Cooper led teams to last years final, making most of squad with appropriate system. 4231 is the best system if you have the best players, Mourinho taught the football world that 15+ years ago at Chelsea, we’ve seen many a manger struggle at Hudds trying to replicate and being ‘brave’ doesn’t cut it.

Agree with all that mate. Wagner had us playing a very solid 4-2-3-1... Not seen any other manager get close for Town. The Chelsea side in approx. 2005/2006 under JM were outstanding at it.

We do, though I still think Nakayama might be the answer there. We'd have a problem if Turton gets injured and to be honest having more competition for Thomas can't be a bad thing either the way he's started the season. Sounds like a promising player though. England U20 and Villa must rate him highly if they've given him a 5 year contract.

I want us to go back to playing 3 CB's and YN should hopefully be the left-sided one. We need a better LWB than Ruffels for sure. The Villa lad - VERY highly rated. Lots of Villa fans (including one of my customers who I spoke to this morning) expected him to make their bench this season and push Matty Cash hard for his place.

Apparently signing on loan today He's at Canalside atm and might train today. It's moved really quickly has this one. Looks good on the Swindon highlights but appreciate that's L2. Swindon young player of the year even though he got recalled in January

Do we really, really need a full back? I say this because do we not really, really need a striker and a centre midfield? This, though, is the Chairperson's pattern. If this lad can play in midfield or is a good 20 goal a season striker great. Or could this be another cop out that is cheaper than what we really, really need.

Interestingly this lad played at Swindon at the same time as Critchlow and Tyreece Simpson. They all did first half of the season. KKH moved to MK Dons where he played the majority of games, including the play-offs. Most of the games he played the full match as well. He looks like he could be quite an aquisition.

guesses on when he gets a game,I'm going for December "“He has the right profile for what we want from a loan signing and is prepared to come in and contribute from day one, which is key. With his pace, desire to attack and high defensive work rate, he’s a player that I’m sure Town fans are really going to enjoy getting to watch.”" Could be a bit earlier than that by the looks. I don't think this is a lad who is looking to bench warm.
