There is absolutely zero chance he would join us, he left Burnley still aiming for a Prem move, never mind bottom of the Championship offering 3k a week max. Never a PL striker. Too good for us though. Surely a short term deal to put him in the shop window would be viable?

He looked decent at L2/L1 level but didn’t particularly look Championship level at Charlton. I remember him looking awful against Town at The Valley. He’s done bugger all with Notts either and he’s no younger than Ward or Rhodes.

Bit more of a physical presence , did ok at Bham on loan second half of season, apart from having strangely coloured hair can’t really comment , probably just an agent fishing.

Huge attitude problem. No thanks He's better than what we have. Yes please. He does seem to come with baggage, if he was a lot better than what we have then maybe, but he isn't so I can't see he'd be worth it.

Taylor- 32, immature attitude, refused to play during the last relegation battle he was in, barely a good season at this level at his age. We need someone much more dynamic

Ok maybe Taylor wouldn't be a fantastic option. However, with our likely budget, where are we going to be shopping? No-one in League 1 who's banging in the goals is going to want to take the risk of joining a club which might be relegated to the same league they're already in. None of our Champ rivals is going to sell to us. Someone from League 2 for a decent fee would be a huge gamble. We're obviously not going to get anyone with experience and of proven quality from the Prem. Another Mipo-esque signing beckons.

With the news that Danny Ward has an injury, it again highlights how few options we have up top. So, I've taken a look at free agents in that area: Fraizer CampbellStill unattached, knows the club, but is 35 and does not in any way solve the main issue, which is a lack of goals. I've only included him because we are very fond of bringing back former players. Matej VydraReleased by Burnley in the summer. 30 years old. 1 goal in 3 at championship level. Wages might be a stumbling lock but he is not earning anything at present so a short term deal could be possible. Aaaand... That's it. There's really fuck all else out there. Daniel Sturridge is available but is 33 and last played for Perth Glory. No one else would be remotely viable. Best get Boothy to put the Werther's Originals down and give his knees an oil....

Lyle Taylor? Really? Do we need another past it striker who struggles for goals at this level? In his last 3 seasons in the Championship he's scored 13 goals in what equates to, minutes wise, around 60 games.
A goal every 410 minutes played.
If this is the lad we're looking at to get us out of this mess then they might aswell just announce relegation now.

Taylor will be on mega money (wages will have gone up massively when forest went up) and he does not fit the style of play. He will leave forest on loan but I would be stunned if he ends up with town
