EFL statement:
‘The English Football League has also postponed its two games on Friday.
“A determination regarding the remainder of this weekend's scheduled fixtures will be made following a review of the official mourning guidance, in addition to further consultation with DCMS and other sports on Friday morning," said an EFL statement.‘

so can I. This is a sad day for everybody. Sure the match will be off now but will be able to get refund, not a problem. And I am sure the train company will also refund my advanced train ticket given the very unusual situation we are in. Not true, but I'll leave it there!

10.15 Friday morning & the EFL still haven't decided whether or not the fixtures will go ahead this weekend?
Absolute joke!

Quite unique set of circumstances TBF.
I'm sure the announcement will be imminent, hoping it's the right one (fixtures still on).

Surely they had a plan in place? Tens of thousands of fans up & down the country will have trains/hotels booked or waiting for confirmation before finalising travel plans.

I can imagine a scenario where having the game postponed saves Schofield his job. A tough away game against QPR, replaced by two 'easier' home fixtures against Wigan and then Cardiff. Might be the run required to take off.

Yep, I expect the confirmation will be imminent. They apparently started the meeting at 9.30, not sure how long these things should take, but they'll know that people are hanging on their decision.
Travel through London will be busy, but it's a big old place, it can cope with the usual influx of football supporters.

According to talkshite the guidelines are that it is up to governing bodies should use their discretion as to whether sporting events take place. So I’m going for the EFLto cancel all games tomorrow but the boxing at the O2 which is 14 miles from Shepherds Bush to go ahead

Might be the run required to take off. Blackpool were a team decimated by injuries/suspensions & had just lost their best player a couple of days before, they didn't need to get out of second to beat us. You'd expect them to be a potential relegation rival this season.

Pal of mine is a recently retired cop. He said it’ll take time to close London down so would be surprised if this weekend’s games are postponed but that any game due to be played in or within a couple of days of the funeral will not go ahead. Given that after next Saturday’s fixtures there’s an international break and the talk is the funeral will be in approximately 10 days time, games should hopefully go ahead as planned up to that time.

The government have released a statement which included that there is no obligation to postpone fixtures in the mourning period. Only at the time of her funeral.

I think they should have made the decision last night. I don't want to be insensitive and it doesn't affect me if the game is off or not, but people have pre booked things and money back won't always be possible. Sometimes with hotels like travelodge you get it a lot cheaper if you book non refundable. With the cost of living etc it's not fair to be nearly 24 hours before a full set of prem and efl fixtures and no decision.
It's a unique set of circumstances and if calling the games off is what happens then OK, but why couldn't it have happened last night?

I'll probably use my train ticket to go to the palace tomorrow if it's off, be a unique moment in history.

Maybe it'll get postponed if Lizzie doesn't make the end of the week. Dead before breakfast I reckon. Why stop a town game is she a secret fan, is she Maynard? Deleting this seems in appropriate. Definitely not a lover of the monarchy, but as a Queen she was top notch
