Club fined £70k for the knobheads' behaviour after the Luton play off semi-final (h). I've never seen the attraction with running on the pitch either during or after a game, but those brainless idiots who then caused trouble at the end of the Luton game, have now cost the club a big fine and probable extra costs in policing higher risk games in the future. www.htafc.com/news/2022/september/town-fined-70000-following-luton-game/

Great innit. Thats £20k more than Blackpool were fined when their fans stormed the pitch and caused the game against us to be abandoned half way through!!

Only time I've been on the pitch was last game at Leeds Road and I was a pissed up, stoned 19/20 year old.
I don't mind the end of season antics, unless they turn nasty.
Sadly, it turns nasty far too often nowadays and the only solution appears to be a universal ban.
So, as usual, the minority knobheads stop the majority's fun!!!

I may have missed it but how much were Sheff Utd fined when even their players were putting the boot into Forest fans?

Has the fine ramped up because a Luton fan was on the pitch with the massed Town fans and got a cut head from a bottle thrown onto the pitch by Luton fans and the picture was plastered everywhere and used inaccurately to infer violent Hudds support ??

I presume the fine will be eclipsed by the compensation we'll receive for being robbed of the chance of another years PL money? Presume they're still working that out.

The person in question was elderly, sitting in the Luton end, and was hit with a coin.

Are all those who went on the pitch putting their hands in their pockets?

Maybe it got canned before that stage, understandably as it was stupid, but it was definitely initial concepts.

Anyone know how much Forest were fined? Should be about double that given a crime was committed during the pitch invasion.

When they invade after a goal I’ve no issue with them being carted off or whatever. If you can’t keep your emotions in check and stay in the stands like 99.9% of the others do, then there’s an oddball reason why they do that. People go daft and jump about in the stands, not sure what difference it is spilling onto the pitch to do the same?
When it’s at the end of a game I’m less bothered, particularly an end of season game. That’s as long as there’s not someone acting like a dick in that crowd, which would seem to be a challenge nowadays.
I don’t get the feeling that football is going back to the darker days of the 70’s & 80’s, but I think there’s a narrative that’s trying to induce that.
Football is a bit more tribal than many other sports, it’s a pressure release for some people. Take that away and it just becomes a bit crap.

They just make up the figure based on the stature of the club I reckon. Bristol Rovers for something similar got a fine of £16,500 www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2022/august/rovers-fined-for-rule-breaches/Haven't seen what forest were fined yet but you'd hope it would be similar if not greater than ours, given the sharp incident and the allegations against mcburnie etc. Farsical though how the independent panel comes up with the fee, imagine it's bit like having a speeding penalty that increases because you're driving a 2022 5 series as supposed to a 92 VW polo. You have to assume the scale of said fine is meant as a "deterrent" to the club (i.e worth more, you pay more) but still there should be some transparency of where this figure comes from.

You have to assume the scale of said fine is meant as a "deterrent" to the club (i.e worth more, you pay more) but still there should be some transparency of where this figure comes from. Thing is, what do they/we expect the clubs to do about it? Why should the club be held to account for people committing a crime (of going on to a pitch during a designated sporting event, that wouldn't be a crime if the exact same thing happened at the same location during a Giants game!). They take what seem like reasonable measures of having stewards as a deterrent (but who can't actively do anything in real terms, they're just normal people with no special authority), and presumably pay for the police (who COULD do something, with their elevated powers) attendance as per whatever the Safety Advisory Group deems is necessary for any given fixture. At those end of season games, you normally get announcements reminding you not to go on the pitch etc (although this seems to make it a MORE likely occurrence? I don't *think* they did v Luton, although I can't hear anything from the PA where I watch from). What more can they do and why should they be held accountable? Huddersfield Town FC is not my mum. And then they get fined. Except its not a fine, its a an arbitrary charge or invoice issued by a footballing organisation. It's a bit like if a mate asked to borrow my car, and then drove down the motorway at 120mph, the police who have the power to fine the driver deciding not to take further action (because of lack of evidence or whatever), and then the people who own the service station sending ME a bill for £10,000.

Personally I feel that anybody who enters the pitch for whatever reason should face some action, not necessary what they do but what trouble it may cause. What concerns me is that the club has been fined a significant amount of money which will be based on the facts. How many people were arrested, how many were charged, how many were found guilty of committing a offence and what their punishment was. The club seem to be keeping this information quiet

The club seem to be keeping this information quiet Police identified ten of 14 people they were after. As far as I've read, one has been dealt with through youth courts, and another (teenager) has been bailed to reappear in October where he'll likely get a banning order for throwing a missile into a crowd. No info on whether the others were cautioned, charged or released without further action.
