He was, Maynardblue acknowledged he was a serious target and work was being done. The exact reason why it didn't happen (I'm assuming it didn't still) isn't known yet. People are starting to claim they know but that's par for the course in DATM maynard knows his stuff, obviously the deal fell through, if it was Wagner announced the mood be a lot better on here no doubt, and other social media groups. I'm still clinging onto the surprise announcement that Wagner is the manager and that fella is the assistant. That's why there is a delay, let me dream.

That would be a surprise, given that they've announced it on the OS. www.htafc.com/news/2022/september/mark-fotheringham-appointed-head-coach/

can this thread be renamed the Wagner/curry thread and be moved to off topic for what could have bean (sprouts)!! We need to keep this open, get the page count up, let it overtake the Fozzy thread. Then we can declare David as the moral (virtual) appointment, purely based on page count... It could be weeks before he's announced at this rate...

Let's hope Fotheringham is the right chapati for the job then.

It all just seems like some of us knew this would happen.
You don’t employ a rookie after the season has started and you are at the bottom of the league.

Fotheringham has had just a few days. The I told you so's can wait a few weeks I'd suggest. Let's hope he brings a sea change, especially as he's come alone and having to work with the same mindsets as the previous two regimes

The Cowleys' first away game, at West Brom, was harder than this, the 'mindsets' just as ingrained, and we put up a proper show, twice in front, just couldn't sustain it, but we saw plenty of hope for the future. Today was nowhere near that.

A new coach needs time to get rid of previous mindsets and put his ideas across. Problem is in my opinion, he doesn’t have this time. This was never the time to experiment. Not Fotheringham’s fault - this lays firmly with the club.

Would Fotheringham then be a genius It's disappointing today, and may be again on Tuesday at a confident Luton. However, we all hope to see some tangible improvements next Sunday against Hull - another team who are struggling and chasing a change

I remain hopeful for next Sunday v Hull partly because we’re at home but you watch, they’ll go appoint a manager along the lines we should have appointed and turn us over. Just seems like one poor decision after another with our club at present.

You would hope to see some signs.. Saw signs from Chico’s team v Cardiff.. Organised.. Discipline.. Good shape.. Got the result.. No sign of any of that today.. I’m casting my hat in already.. Siewert the 2nd.. Shouty and aggressive.. Players don’t like him.. Gonna end badly for all concerned.. 🍻

DW was the peoples choice and probably DH's too. We should have stuck with Checho given the alternative.
Today's line up and substitutions were at best nieve, and it showed

If my auntie had bollocks she would be my uncle I didn't say we were anywhere close to competing, never mind winning. So maybe read in future. I said if (that is IF) we had won would Fotheringham be getting lauded, even if we had fluked it. I would suggest he would. Both scenarios are, and would be, premature and ridiculous.

Today's line up and substitutions were at best nieve, and it showed I’m as disappointed as the next man with todays performance, but other than starting Russel instead of Camara (something that no one would have had an issue with last season) what was wrong with the line up?

I expect he will be wheeled out to do the half time draw at the next home game.
