Wagner coming back short term doesn,t fill me with anticipation, full time Yes!... On a short contract, if we improved we would be in the same position managerwise as we are currently, and if we got that wrong {strong possibility on past decisions} we would be back to square one.

If we decide to bin off the current model to give Wagner what he’d want, then we should have just done that for Corberan in the first place.

I’m not convinced anything we’d have done would’ve kept him here, the biggest club in Greece is a fairly big draw especially for someone whose already worked in that part of the world.

Contracts seem a bit worthless in terms of how long a manager is going to stay. If they do well they leave and if they do crap they leave. The only ones who dont seem short term and the ones who just do 'ok'.

There are 2 arguments to why he left, those who believe he walked because he wasn’t backed so they can have a good old moan at our owner and those who believe he was tapped up by the fat Greek. Neither side will be swayed until the truth comes out. Which it never will.

He got poached for a top European job IMO. Stay at a championship club with a smaller than average budget who couldn't even come close to selling out Wembley for a promotion decider.. or go to a country's biggest club that get 60,000 for home games and have an almost guaranteed spot in the champions league every season?

Or have I just read cryptic explanations and come to that conclusion? I’m really torn on Wagner. In my head I think it would de-rail the long term strategy. But I know if he’s announced I’ll be loving seeing him back at the club.

The short term option to me makes perfect sense. It stabilises the club, allows the board to get the fans back onside and also buys us time to formulate the next plan. It allows us not to rush and to consider all our options over the next 9/18 months to make sure the next appointment is the right one.

Tend to agree with you captain, Carlos was tapped up & was always going to leave, remember Dean Hoyle emphasising how ambitious Carlos was, before he resigned - UTT.

How do they get 60k for home games when their ground holds under 35k? Their average attendance in the league this season is under 14k. The leagues average attendance is just over 5k, some clubs average around 500. The Greek league is a really poor standard.

Think the club , or was it Corboran, said something like 'their visions didnt align'.. which is a pretty generic term that could mean all sorts of things. At the time the club couldn't say 'we dont really know why he's left' and corboran couldn't say " I'll be getting the Olympiacos job when they sack the manager the first time they have a bad result' Id be interested to know if were pursuing Olympiacos for compensation. We damned well should be. When Cooper was appointed forest manager they had to pay Swansea quite a lot of money, even though it had been 2 months since he walked out on them. www.nottinghamforest.news/2021/09/16/report-shares-the-seven-figure-fee-nottingham-forest-must-pay-for-steve-cooper/

I don’t blame him but if everybody is honest, that’s the real reason. When you do that, you have to get in the pockets of some dubious characters like that obese dick at Forest.

People overdo well known foreign clubs who play in smaller countries, and then deride championship clubs cos its the second tier. Eg, I went to watch Sparta Prague last year, no doubt loads would think massive club. Their ground holds 19k and there was about 11k in, and I'm fairly sure Town would have beaten them.

I'm more worried about the clubs current situation, Corberan is history, whether he was poached or not, there is no loyalty in the game our days

I was surprised it took that long to actually happen. Football is a ruthless business - but its time for this club to either step up and show some ambition .......easier said than done unless Dean stays and is prepared to invest further, or simply acknowledge that we are where we are and eventually that may lead to a championship / league 1 yo-yo ing at some point unless alternative backers are sourced, particularly given the strength of clubs already at that level - derby, massive, pompey, charlton, ipswich etc. Difficult times right now - but Dean has the capability to turn this around if hes committed enough both financially and operationally to sort it. Whether he has the will or appetite to do so remains to be seen longer term and therein lies the problem i think.

I’ve seen clubs like Man City not sell out at Wembley it is all about distance traveled how often you’ve done it and the feeling about the club moving forward with ambition , every town fan knew what was going to happen if we achieved promotion ( we would of gone into top league to fill DH s pockets back up.) How the hell are fans supposed to dream and fill large stadiums when the club isn’t interested in giving hope . Most town fans were not bothered that much win or lose ask yourself why. They knew the clubs ambitions. I’ve supported this club for so long nearly 40 years never would I miss a final but I don’t blame anyone for not bothering The club needs to show it wants to compete if it can’t why the hell should supporters bother.

Wagner is willing to come back and Dean definitely wants him too. There’s an issue with wages he’s still owed from his last club Young Boys that’s holding any potential deal up. I wouldn’t expect an announcement any time soon.
