I liked MF after the first interview, and the training session video. Maybe it was just because he was the polar opposite of DS who mumbled his way through pressers, head down staring at the desk; instead here was a guy with passion and purpose. But I admit i can't yet see what on earth he's trying to do. And his media tone is actually just blunt and massively limited. Pretty poor stuff tonight, it's not remotely the worst I've seen as others say, but it's so utterly lacking in energy, quality, ambition. It's clueless and aimless. We're in deep trouble for sure. Sometime once said something along the lines of, if you sack a manager after three months for poor performance, it's the manager's fault; if you sack him after three games it's the chairman's fault. Will we admit we might have made a mistake? I liked MF after the first interview (then less and less after every subsequent interview)> On a serious note do you think that he interviewed so brilliantly with Bromby and Hoyle that they were happy to ignore his playing/coaching record and desparate to give him a three year - THREE year - contract ? I seriously suspect that it was his initial interviewing bullshit that got him the job. He's an absolute fraud. Hoyle & Bromby fell for it big time.

Why didn't they, like us, become less and less impressed with each outing?

And to think we laughed when L**d's appointed Dave Hockaday. Fotheringham is every bit as bad an appointment, what the fuck was Bromby thinking? To be honest there are definite parallels. This guy had been an assistant in Bundesliga 2 for a few years and spent less than half a season as an assistant in the Bundesliga (then being made redundant) before we swooped for him. What on earth qualified him to get the head coach job at a decent sized Championship club?

He watched that shit for 90+ minutes yet he made one substitution? Where's the harm in rolling the dice with Diarra? Could he be any worse than what was on the pitch? Pointless him even being on the bench if he's too scared to use him.

Anyone who plays helik instead of mbete needs to be sacked. I can see why Barnsley went down , the guy is clueless. Get helik and camara out of the side and we might have a chance

Where is the logic Unlike ANY manager I've heard of Mr Fotheringham spends half-time watching the subs warm up - he did tonight. He does so, he says, so he "can see the ones with fire in their bellies and fight in their eyes to come on and make a difference". Tonight our team was putting on a performance that most posters think was abysmal, YET he brought ONE substitute on. What on earth does that say about the substitutes' attitude, or Mark's eyesight ? He is so far out of his depth, it's getting embarrassing. I find that so weird, the half time thing. Most of the time the subs are dicking around, doing keepy ups, half arsed training drills, stood around watching the really very dreary and hackneyed spectacle of dizzy penalties etc. What can you learn from that? It's just odd behaviour.

Most entertainment came from someone trying a three point turn on kilner bank which says it all What does it say when you're 1-0 down at home and use one sub? What belief does it give your subs too? Does the manager know what he's doing, I'm not sure, our tactics are move it out to the right and hope Thomas gets a decent ball in to the area that Rhodes can get onto, rinse and repeat, ward is looking like a passenger and playing like someone who knows his contract won't be renewed. Rhodes looks to be fitter, quicker and stronger than him, which is worrying when you consider there is absolutely no attacking quality to change it up Ward should have buried that header early on and other than that he did absolutely nothing. Brookie won't have to bother washing his kit tomorrow as he never broke sweat all game. At least Rhodes put some effort into it.

Not a good night, not a good night at all.
We just seem to have players that switch off at the wrong time. Before the corner for the goal, Kasumu switched off and let his man get goal side of him and receive a pass, that got them going and led to the corner. If Kasumu was switched on he’d have been goalside and would have intercepted the pass.
Second balls, we just don’t seem switched on to them or quick enough to react.
Far far too much long ball tonight that Rhodes and Ward were never gonna win, then again we don’t win enough second balls from the defenders header, players not switched on and alive to the opportunity.
Lots of criticism of Camara on here tonight. He’s a 19 year old kid playing in about his 5th professional football match. He’ll have good patches and bad patches. Problem is we don’t have much experience in centre mid at the moment to help him.
Thomas is becoming a little too predictable when he’s got the ball down the right. All his deliveries are exactly the same, floaty lofted balls into the box. There’s no square balls into the penalty areas, no driving to the line and firing the ball across or cutting it back. The predictability make it easy for centre halves to get themselves set and defend it.
Lots and lots of work to do

Pointless him even being on the bench if he's too scared to use him. He’s dicking around with the bench to prove a points that senior players can miss out on the match day squad. Now 5 subs can be used it’s a stupid tactic. Like you say if Diarra isn’t going to come on in tonight’s scenario then he’s never coming on.

Well down from Lossiemouth for that one. Thought we were reasonable first half. Less said about the second half the better. My daughters partner came tonight, he normally watches Aberdeen, he pointed out that we can make up to five subs and wanted to know if our coach did! I'll be down again in the New Year so hopefully we have "turned the corner" by then?

Whilst the performance wasn't horrifically bad, seen much much worse from Town teams but there's just nothing there at all, absolutely zero in terms of a midfield or any attacking nous. Kasumu runs round like a headless chicken getting booked, Camara gives the ball away, Holmes is the only one to come out with any credit tonight, Thomas, well, what can one say, Rhodes and Ward no service, Rudoni is essentially a league 1 player playing in The Championship although difficult to criticise as he was only a sub, Lees looks a shadow of himself last season. Where do we go from here? A lot of successful football comes from connections- last season we had them all over the pitch: Nicholls/Lees/Pearson, LOB/Toffolo/Colwill, Turton/Sorba, Sinani/Ward. When you know where your mate’s going to be for a pass or that they will be there to cover you if you lose out. I can’t see any at the moment so we look worse than the sum of our parts rather than better. Ward, Lees, Sorba etc don’t suddenly become bad players and I think Helik is decent but the links aren’t there. Which says unbalanced squad and ineffective coaching to me. Something needs to change quick.

Just watch us closely and see how much of the game, in open play, we spend as a team nowhere near the ball or the bloke with the ball. We fail to close because we either run away or stand in lines. Rarely winning the ball back in the opposition half or near halfway makes breaking incredibly difficult. There is no sustained pressure on the opposition anywhere on the pitch, either when we have the ball or without it. Championship footballers can all play under little pressure and we are watching it happen. I can still do a bit if nobody bothers me on the pitch.
We are too easy to play against.

We' re definitely in the shit when folk are calling for Hogg and Pearson to come in and save the season. Good god. I know what you mean, I think. Same with those saying Holmes is our best player. If you'd told me any time in the last 3 years that he would be starting every match, rightly, I'd say we'd be relegated by December.

Yep no sugarcoating that. Absolutely woeful again. Why is he not going into the changing room at half time? To go stare at subs getting warmed up? That’s 2 games in a row where we’ve come out even worse than the 1st half. The discussions and no doubt arguments that are happening in the changing room at the break are without his input. Its a weird stamp he’s trying to put and it’s frankly not working. You knew from the first 5 minutes that the system wasn’t working but yet only one change occurred after 70 minutes. Very very very odd. Maybe not so odd if my growing suspicions are correct and MF simply doesn't have much idea about tactics. He seems totally unconcerned with the structure on the pitch or pay any regard to the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition. It is too early to tell, but it is looking that way for sure.

Only decent game was the 22 in the FA Cup v Man City Beating them 1-0 at home and stopping them getting promoted wasn't bad TBF Porroh they were 12 points off the play-offs, I think their inadequacies stopped them getting promotion not Carl Madrick.

Lees made a mistake - not predicting Camara's weak defending when Preston scored. Camara made a mistake - awful defending when they scored Rudoni made a mistake - nearly fell over the ball when he came on Ward made a mistake - pathetic header with our only chance. Holmes made a mistake - 3 times - every shot way over the bar, as usual Kasumu made a mistake - booked, as usual, early in the match and therefore became invisible. Turton made a mistake - twice kicked intended passes into touch. Rhodes made a mistake - should have been sent off for that elbow. Where the hell are we going to get 8 replacements from before the Middlesborough game on Saturday

typical datm...the happy clappers ( you know who are) disappear after a defeat. We lack quality, regardless of the manager, we lack quality. Why ? Because its all about Dean Hoyle. Please Dean just do whatever you can and fuck off. Imagine people not wanting to come on here and abuse everyone and everything about the club after a defeat. Where are you all? Disgrace! THE TOYS NEED THROWING!!!

1 substitute all game. Really? At least try something different. If hard work wins games then put someone on who can at least run faster than the players you have on already and are tired. Bit worrying as MF said only the ones that work hard will play for him. Has he really managed to whittle the playing squad down to 12 in 5 games?

Decided not to go tonight and it turned out to be the best decision I’ll make all week. Even switched off watching on the red button after an hour. Zero organisation, which should come from the bench, and hell knows what the players are doing on the training ground all week! We have the distinct look of a team going down unless something changes very quickly.

I feel gutted for yous after travelling that distance and losing Lossie - but, hey ho, I’ve been there maself with Town on quite a few occasions for sure ! Not sure where we go from here but defeat at Middlesbrough seems unthinkable but anyway we’ll see how it pans out (I’ll be on a ferry crossing for the whole match on Saturday) - potential stormy waters for Town... hopefully not for me !!!! Have a safe journey back up North the lot of yous - enjoy the Lossiemouth game on Saturday - they’ll probably get a better result than Town will at Boro’ and good luck to them for the rest of the season !

He can deliver a great ball but, as you say, they are all the same type of cross and can be easily predicted. The long ones from the halfway line rarely create any danger. Our crossing in general is very predictable. Always high. When was the last time we fired in a low cross across the six yard line? Or cut one back from the byline? It never happens. A bit like we never seem to play one-twos around the box.
