Delighted for Dean's tenure to be ending on a fitting high. What a ride We’re still in the Championship, which is one of the best second tiers in world football, we’ve still (for now) got one of the cheapest ST’s in football. It’s been a rollercoaster, but how many wouldn’t have boarded it, looking back today? Let’s see what the new era brings… Rollercoaster for sure. But even last night, you can argue just avoiding failure, but im still buzzing. Absolutely incredible scenes. You can argue all day long about DH wanting his money back etc, but at the end of the day he's simply a fan whos made a load of wonga. Has any other similar size club had as much fun as us since 2009? And its been DH at the helm

Delighted for Dean's tenure to be ending on a fitting high. What a ride This. It would have been such a shame for his tenureship to have ended in such a way after hes put so much in to the club and taken us on such an incredible journey since 2008. Mistakes have obviously been made, many totally unforeseeable, many what turned out to be bad gambles that didnt pan out, but hes leaving the club in a vastly better place than where it was when he inherited it, and with a huge amount of memories to go with it. Think one thing we've seen in these last few weeks is that the claims the squad had been decimated and was obviously going to struggle etc etc were simply not true. They've shown that with the right manager, this squad is actually perfectly capable of not just competing, but actually doing very well. Arent we something like 5th or 6th over the last quarter of the season? But we didnt have the right managers obviously, and thankfully those crucial mistakes havent got us relegated in the end. Upwards and onwards from here under a new regime. If they can replicate the dedication and successs of the Hoyle era Ill be more than happy.

I'm sorry I don't understand this thread or the love in last night..
It has been done a million times but..
DH sold us to a guy he knew had no money but would asset strip and funnel the parachute payments to ensure DH got paid back
DH sold the crown jewels again this summer and didn't give a budget to replace then hence CC left
DH sanctioned the cheap option of hiring Schofield and Fotheringham
..
For me, It's single handedly Warnock and Jeppo that have dragged us out the funk and DH / The club know that deep down

If a managerial appointment is bad, point the finger at Hoyle. If a managerial appointment is good, point the finger at the manager.

If i make 2 shocking appointments and turn a top 3 side into a bottom 3 side - then realise I need to pay for a proper manager to save us at the last minute does that make me a genius/hero? It was a last throw of the dice made because of all of the previous errors

Warnock's biggest achievement has been to get everyone pulling in the same direction: the unity across the club last night was reminiscent of 2016-17.
Let's not regress back to the 'Hoyle wars'.

You dont understand it because despite it being done a million times, youre still peddling a load of utter crap about it. tell me which part of those statement are incorrect He didnt know PH had no money. The man was worth multi, multi, millions at the time PH didnt asset strip the club. They didnt funnel parachute payments to pay DH back. DH didnt get any of his money back by the end. We didnt sell the Crown Jewels,, we sold LOB who'd been our 4th best player and Toffolo who'd been bang average most of the season. We gave new contracts to our 3 best players that season in Nichols, Thomas, and lees. When clubs have the income reduced by about 70% they tend to have to sell players to make some of that up. Thats not breaking news. We did give a budget to bring in new players including the 2 standout candidates in our POTS thread. CC was always going to leave,, had tried to secure a new job before Wembley and clearly IMO got tapped up by Olympiacos. the only bit you've got right is that he did sanction the appointments of DS and MF. (Which you rightly criticise him for, but then offer no praise for the appointment of NW) Yeah mistakes and ones hes personally had to pay for.

It was a last throw of the dice made because of all of the previous errors If you criticise someone for their mistakes, you should be able to praise them when they get things right. Dean Hoyle is a hero, he's given me the best 15 years of my supporting life. Yeah there's been some shit periods and some silly decisions, but at the end of it the good far outweighs the bad. Now we need to move on, leave him alone and look forward to a new era at Huddersfield Town and this time hopefully the new owner actually has the money to buy the club.

Totally agree with the sentiment of your posts capn..................but the squad remains a modest one at this level at best and the recruitment decisions last summer pretty poor in the main. What we've seen though is an excellent manager get every ounce out of what we have and we have avoided relegation - marginally. I've never understood the personal vitriol aimed at Hoyle - its not needed or deserved imho. We all have our own opinions on what has happened but ultimately now is the time to look forward to better times with new owners who hopefully have more energy/drive and the financial clout to fund some badly needed quality new additions. Nobody expects us to spend millions we dont have - but we have to ensure the squad is shaped to improve its balance next season. Hoyle has as you say left us in a better position than when he came in and whilst its been a roller coaster ride at times, some of the memories have been utterly brilliant and its nice to see what appears to be a happy ending with the club positioned still a league above where we were when he bought it.

We need to draw a line under the Dean Hoyle debate, which we'll hopefully do when the new owners get the green light in the coming weeks. People are so entrenched in their views (on either side) that there's no point in having the debate. The truth (as ever) lies somewhere in the middle.

He got some things wrong, somethings right and a lot of stuff somewhere in the middle. He's seemingly written off his debt, ok there might be devil in the detail, but it seems like his £40m+ outstanding Directors loans has been seemingly written off. We've secured our championship status, thanks to something that DH got right. He's now sold the club and very soon will have nothing to do with us. Let it lie and let's see what the next chapter in the history of Huddersfield Town brings Up The Fucking Town!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he can just go back to being a fan now and enjoy the ride. I can't begin to imagine the stress that job entails, particularly when things aren't going well.
29th May 2017 will always live with me. That was at the very least partly down to Dean and for that I will always be grateful, no matter how things have gone in the last few years.

We all have views on everything that's happened over the last few years some founded some not,we can argue the rights and wrongs but it's now in the past, we are moving on hopefully to a bright exciting future, but the man has over seen a great period in the clubs history and to that end a massive thanks should be given by all.

I'm sure there will be some that can't get over their shallow vendettas against Dean, but the fact is this, he transformed the club, took it to places we never dreamt possible, and spent a lot of money along the journey.
Hopefully he's remembered as the great Chairman and owner he has been, and hopefully the next guy is prepared to put as much on the line for Huddersfield Town, as Dean has done.
