Trust me you don't want to know. Tickets,Flights and Hotels make your eyes water and now we're told that Pints at the Fan festival outside the ground are not going to be £6/7 but £11/12 for a 500ml Can of Bud So they're not selling beer worthy of the name then, either 🤨 Cant really imagine a line of wickets and a range of hand pull in Qatar tbh.

Which public place??? Filming or photography is difficult given how many 'public' places either contain something of religious or national significance, where you cant film or take photos, problem is there are so many . Although you try filming or photographing near hundreds of places here and wait for 'security' to be on your arse???

I heard today that Southgate was going to have the squad training at mid-day, at the height of the day's temperature.... why? I thought all the games were being played in temperature controlled, air con stadiums?

Apologies if it's been covered on here already but does anyone know why England haven't had a warm up friendly before the actual competition like most other nations?
Seems bizarre given our recent poor form and the fact we never started a settled side.

I hope the tournament passes off without any issues, but I’m not sure the Qatari authorities have worked out what they’ve let themselves in for. Rough maths suggests they’ll have a near 40% uplift in their population during the tournament.

It’s nailed on there’ll be controversy of some sort, just depends how good they turn out to be covering it up. Rival fans & booze (+ heat) don’t mix, you’ve got all the stuff over lgbt and possible unfinished stadiums, all the worker deaths they’ve covered up + human rights issues. It’s a tinderbox waiting to go up. After all this, I hope the actual football turns out to be decent once it gets going.

No one tackles, players don’t put their foot in at risk of injury. Imagine Kane taking a knock against Malta 5 days before a World Cup opener. Makes no sense.

Football supporters can be quite resourceful if they are planning stuff like that.

Wales rescheduling their training times. They didn't think it'd be that hot in Qatar at dinnertime 🤨

I was gonna put something along those lines. The tournament is usually post-season so there may have been a slight drop-off in fitness over the two weeks between season end and tournament start, so they arrange friendlies to get that fitness back up. This time the tournament is starting mid-season so maybe no chance of fitness drop-off? Although as Big Ern said most of the other nations have still had a warm up and their seasons are half-way through too.

Anything over that size has to get approval in advance for entry into the grounds. I've head that images of the late Queen have been knocked back as has things like a silhuoette of Spitfire

You're right, rival fans + heat and booze dont mix, but i would imagine even the most idiotic and troublesome of fans will think twice before causing trouble in a middle eastern country, i'd hope so at least.

You might be right Sabs, but also don't forget that this WC is within a very small geographical area, so a lot more mixing of supporters.
For most normal folk though, can't see them wasting the few £k they'll have spent getting there, to end up in a Qatari jail/be deported.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out in this regard, i think the Qatari authorities will tell officials/secirity to be more leniant regarding certain behaviour but if violence erupts theres only going to be one winner, thats 100% nailed on, i've never been in a middle eastern prison cell but what i've concluded is that its hell.

Can’t see the local authorities taking any shit. I think there will be a few people locked up, from many countries. Drinking in public, swearing, any offensive behaviour and they’ll no doubt be locked up or deported.

Chair throwers only do it in France. Don't recall any trouble in Japan Korea or Russia.

At 12 quid a can cant see many drunken brawls, unless theres a dodgy bloke selling moonshine on the back streets!!

Has anyone been watching the three part series on channel 4 'Italia 90:when football changed forever', been pretty good tbh and although its nothing you haven't seen before it brought back a few memories and maybe made you see things in a different light. There's a similar one on Sky Docs thats decent

Anybody got any tips of non obvious players for fantasy footy purposes? If you are after relatively under the radar (cheapish) attacking defenders you can do much worse than Maehle (Denmark) or Sosa (Croatia). midfielders (as well as Pedri) Musiala (Germany) & Skol Olsen (Denmark) attacker Gakpo (Holland)
