Mark is the man. Believe me. Time for the fans to back the man. FFS. That was nearly 2nd string tonight. 🔵⚪🔵 UTFT Anjorin Simpson Jones Kasumu Hogg Camara Nakayama Lees Pearson Turton It's a potentially first choice outfield that are out injured/ill/suspended. Cracking heart shown by those on the pitch today. I'm coming around to Mark Fotheringham. Not sold on him yet, but he's softening my stance on him. Are any due back soon?

The kid from Villa is still a complete liability. Thank fuck we have our own better version in Spencer who was only taken off due to being close to a second yellow. We'd have done well to draw tonight, but Ruffels had the game of his life and Boyle, Helick and Nicholls were fantastic after an awful first five mins. Sorba looks like he's getting back to form ready for the World Cup. Yeah, but we're playing him in his preferred position. Rob Page still thinks he's a left back that can't take free kicks.

An immense defensive display. That’s the blueprint for the rest of the season, sit deep, defend for our lives and try to nick a goal. Great result Town. Not sure my nerves will be able to stand that for too many more matches though!

Can see KKH starting at RB for the foreseeable now. Hopefully. He was pretty comfortable in the second half there. Boyle and Helik were something else in the centre.

The effort is still there! Always has been, we lack quality and self belief..Hopefully self belief may come with results like this evening.
Quality should improve with time once players recover from injuries.
Ben Jackson looks like hes played 200 professional games, he's ready to make the number 3 his own shirt for years to come (if he wants it).

Spencer's been guilty of ball watching (and not his man) in each of the games he's played. I'm not a fan of Kesler-Hayden but he was better than Spencer tonight.

If we hold on to him Nichols will keep us up he’s been the best signing since we dropped out of the prem and again some class saves tonight They actually played as a team ran for each other lots of positives on the attitude and application of tactics from let’s face it some players that are arguably full time pro standards that’s the shape of things at the moment a squad devoid of quality and for various reasons some of the better players unavailable So in the scheme of things that was a performance of biblical proportions 😂👍 Literally the best bit about this evening, and also the bit that gives me confidence. We rode our luck, no doubt about it, but every single one on that pitch - to a man - bust a gut for those 3 points.

Isnt it strange - desire determination and grit aplenty and we get some luck at last! Barely played much football...... but its a fabulous result and huge credit to the fringe lads who put in a shift like that. Praise also to MF and his staff......limited we may have been, but well organised we certainly were and boyle was immense again.

You're usually spot on but that is harsh. The qpr attack looked goosed from about 65 and we just grew God being back between the sticks helped. He'd have saved that goal vs Blackburn if he was in the mindset tonight. We got a win with half a team out. Enjoy I am enjoying it, and there was no other way to play with those players. I actually said to a mate after about 65 that we were gonna win as it just seemed like one of those nights. But they had 36 shots and fluffed their lines in front of goal numerous times! I can enjoy the win but also acknowledge that usually we don't draw that nevermind win. Like I said, get in. Most of those 36 shots weren't worth spit though. And a lot of them were late in the game after we brought even more junior players on than the team of kids we had on already. Dunno what Boyle and Helik and Nicholls were doing to organise that defence but it was amazing Was on the front of my seat but I never thought we looked like losing. Always an out ball or someone putting their body on the line. We needed a bit of luck to turn this season around. I hope Saturday is rocking as three points makes us look a lot better.

The real positives tonight:
1. We won away from home for the first time this season and, 2. To do that, we came from behind.

I've seen loads of Town teams in the 3rd division (or lower) who had more quality than the team who were out there tonight... ...but they were well organised and put in a right shift & sometimes that's better than quality. I struggle to see how anyone could be optimistic about avoiding relegation but TBF to them we look to be giving it a right go. Well done all. Seriously Andy, how many of the players that played tonight would not comfortably walk into a "3rd division (or lower)" side?

Worth reading this thread from about p6, just after they’d scored.
Hopefully that will do them a world of confidence.
Chuffed to bits for those lads tonight. Hope they enjoy the journey home and are buzzing…
One swallow doth not a summer maketh, but please bottle the heart from that performance and bottle it for the weekend.
Some bodies being thrown in tonight. QPR will have come off that pitch knowing it wasn’t their night, but they’ll begrudgingly appreciate that second half defensive performance.

I wonder if Ruffles played up front at any level?
If any forward finished two like that we’d be eulogising.

Awful for their goal and at that stage I thought we were in for a hiding. Credit to them for getting their shit together within the game because that was defensively superb for 80 minutes.

Every time he touched the ball I shat myself. He's a young lad with lots of talent who's become a totally liability at this level - especially for a club in trouble like ours. The only reason he saw the last half hour tonight was because Spencer was in danger of being sent off with a second yellow.

Well I did say it was great to see young lads scrapping for the shirt. In view of the circumstances, that in my 50 years of watching Town, was one of the best efforts/win I've witnessed. Well done, let's get behind them and encourage them Saturday.Football b he'll!!

Pages 5 and 6 of this thread - not all but most of them - comedy gold. As another poster said a few went very quiet after we scored our goals.
Roll on Saturday!

A note for Thomas as well. Set piece delivery still looking strong, and a bit unlucky with that effort late on.
The QPR ground always appears dark under the lights. Presumably their floodlights are a bit older than the ones at Town?

Superb effort by all the lads there tonight, a win at high flying QPR with that squad is highly impressive.
Yes, the football was non-existent but we are already at the stage where points are far more important than performances. You cannot fault the commitment, effort & determination.
However, please do not use this as a blueprint going forward, as someone has suggested, if you give the opposition 30+ shots per game you aren't going to win many points.
Never mind that, however, big thanks to all the squad & management tonight, blooming well done lads.
