Hopefully. He was pretty comfortable in the second half there. Boyle and Helik were something else in the centre. No he wasn't! Every time he touched the ball I shat myself. He's a young lad with lots of talent who's become a totally liability at this level - especially for a club in trouble like ours. The only reason he saw the last half hour tonight was because Spencer was in danger of being sent off with a second yellow. He was caught out on Saturday and was again today. A young lad who will learn but I would rather KKH getting a run in the team.

Glad to be proved wrong - I didn’t think this inexperienced team could defend that lead but defend they did. Thought Boyle, Helik and Ruffels were tremendous but everybody put in a helluva shift and that must shut up the anti MF brigade now surely ? Let’s hope so and really get behind this team now. Yes, we’re very limited but spirit, determination and organisation go a long way. Let's hope it shuts up the 'we shouldn't be signing lower League 1 central defenders' shots at Boyle too.

Spencer's been guilty of ball watching (and not his man) in each of the games he's played. I'm not a fan of Kesler-Hayden but he was better than Spencer tonight. Spencer is young and hopefully he will learn quickly, but he was caught on the wrong side for their goal... very much to blame. In all fairness you could have blamed Helik & Boyle for that as well. All 3 were beaten far more easily than they should have been.

So our England U21 international loan player is less good than our full cap Norn Irn home grown player? I agree with you, but Brodie Spencer is 18 and has played half a dozen senior games.

Mark is the man. Believe me. Time for the fans to back the man. FFS. That was nearly 2nd string tonight. 🔵⚪🔵 UTFT Anjorin Simpson Jones Kasumu Hogg Camara Nakayama Lees Pearson Turton It's a potentially first choice outfield that are out injured/ill/suspended. Cracking heart shown by those on the pitch today. I'm coming around to Mark Fotheringham. Not sold on him yet, but he's softening my stance on him. Exactly this. You should think what you think & that will tell with time. Another 3 points on Saturday (fingers crossed) would maybe sway your mind. I firmly believe this man will lead us out of the bottom three season & into the top six next season. Pelters welcome at the end of the season 👍🏻

I've seen loads of Town teams in the 3rd division (or lower) who had more quality than the team who were out there tonight... ...but they were well organised and put in a right shift & sometimes that's better than quality. I struggle to see how anyone could be optimistic about avoiding relegation but TBF to them we look to be giving it a right go. Well done all. Seriously Andy, how many of the players that played tonight would not comfortably walk into a "3rd division (or lower)" side? TBF I didn't say that... I said we've had teams in the third division who had more quality.... Would you argue the likes of Iwan Roberts, Young Boothy, Pilkington, Young Rhodes, Starbuck, Gary Roberts, Simon Charlton, Maskell, Chris Marsden, Tom Cowan etc. and etc. and etc. didn't have more quality than the team out there tonight? I'd back the teams from 1983, 1992, 1995, & a few in the 2000s/10's against that team ... ....but that's not intended to decry the team tonight in any way they're nowhere near our full strength team... ...but they put in a right performance tonight.

Daft as it sounds it could have been 3-1, wards close range shot from that was blocked in last fifteen mins looked suspiciously like it hit the QPR players arm, couldnt really do owt about it tbh though.

Just back to my hotel in North London.
Longest 2nd half of my life.
Fans were awesome. Cannot question the desire and effort. The football wasn't great, but who really cares when you get 3 points.
Once again, got to follow it up V Swansea.
Just like Preston and Sunderland, can't go back to square 1. Close the 4 point gao before the WC break and everything turns in our favour.

That game's on Wikipedia, you'll find it on the page headed 'Ugly Win'.
I'll settle for a repeat on Saturday as well, same team but with Kasumu for Diarra. Even if Lees is fit, Boyle keeps his place as he was immense.
Couldn't string many passes together but still scored 2 fabulous goals even with their keeper saving both our best two chances.

Its the hope that kills you. Great result tonight, another point or 3 at the weekend might see us really bucking the trend. Blackpool losing a bit of a bonus too. Kudos as ever to those that made the journey on a weekday.

A note for Thomas as well. Set piece delivery still looking strong, and a bit unlucky with that effort late on. The QPR ground always appears dark under the lights. Presumably their floodlights are a bit older than the ones at Town? They looked brighter in the Porrige episode where it's supposed to be Bellend Road.

WIth all the gushing accolades for Boyle tonight (and after the Blackburn game) does that mean that Bromby’s back to doing a decent job again 😮

Yuta said it himself that it was. Japanese self-deprecation. Just enjoy an amazing goal from a player we are lucky to have. Because of the scouting team. Who got a bit of shit at Blackburn. Unnecessarily.

Yes,you did. You said teams. Not the individuals you mention. Some of whom would clearly be a shoe into our team today. But, The teams there were in were also populated with solid pros that were of third division quality at best
