Fair and honest assessment that, despite his obvious disappointment found time to give credit to town manager and players. That should boost our morale a bit and hopefully now the bar has been set we'll see more effort like that. I don't think there has been a lack of effort at any point this season. A lack of structure and ability has been the main issue I've not seen 'bodies on the line' defending like that this season, not for a full game. Whether we can get the regulars back from injury to show the same commitment as these fringe players will be the challenge for Fothers. Agree we need more talent though.

Goodness me detox - Ward and Rhodes are like chalk and cheese - tonight Rhodes held the ball up, drew fouls and never stopped running. I wish he'd get the chances that Danny Ward does ! They're thick blinkers you have on mate. You're seeing what you want to see. Rhodes definitely deserved to move ahead of Ward in the pecking order earlier in the season, no denying that. Tonight however, what you describe did not happen. It did not even come close to happening. You obviously have your version of events, let's leave it at that huh ? Even though you're wrong 🙂

Didn't press particularly well, and constantly outmuscled and knocked over by their defenders without ever really buying fouls

Think we all have to accept that given how many players are out, this will be how we set up, especially away from home.
It is not pretty It is not how MF wants us to play. It can be very nervy.
But anything else and we probably open up like the red sea and get a battering.
Most, including myself have voiced some form of criticism towards someone. But last night showed me that the players are buying into the MF regime. They are throwing everything they have at it. They may not be up to the quality side of the Championship, but heart and desire can make up for that.
We have a team right now with most players 24 or under. The expectations ar ehuge on them, especially with our position right now. It can only make them mentally stronger and improve their game and progression quicker than expected.
A huge well done to everyone last night. Hope they have the morning off and have some muscle massage!!

Wow...... Compare him to the lunatic at Luton!!!!!! After watching that interview I hope QPR do OK this season. Fair and honest assessment that, despite his obvious disappointment found time to give credit to town manager and players. That should boost our morale a bit and hopefully now the bar has been set we'll see more effort like that. What a refreshing change and just about spot on for me.

Had a dream last night that we went to one of the top 6 and won after being a goal down inside 2 minutes 🤣 Really need to cut down on the amount of benadryl I'm taking I think

A great victory and an amazing goal by ruffles
I'm starting to feel a glimmer of hope we might just get out of this now

A good win which hopefully gives the players a boost.
What we really need though is a comfortable win to give the players some real belief. Don't get me wrong, a win is a win, but clinging on every game by the skin of our teeth isn't going to work long term.

I think we're the only team in CL not to have back-to-back victories this season, great time to put that right this Saturday.........hope the lads have something left in the tank, let's go again..UTT. Whilst I admire your optimism, we're not in the Champions 'hip' League. Yet. Getting to the PL was beyond my/our wildest dreams.........plus, we nearly did it twice..UTT.

What a great feeling coming into work after that last night. I'd given up hope that we would ever come from a goal down to draw a game when conceding first, let alone win! Superb efforts and hopefully that can be a turning point from a mentality point of view for the squad. I just wish whenever Town are backs to the wall like last night that they found a way to run the ball up the pitch/hold onto it up front for longer as it cannot be good for us all watching of of attack and being so up against it. They came through and massive credit to all involved, I agree they must be playing for MF to produce an effort like that and I wish him all the best.

Agree with you but we need to remember that we were missing experienced players last night who would have been more capable of getting us forward. Given that context, I thought it was a remarkable result.

Seriously superb backs to the wall win. But you wont get results like that every week. The WC break cannot come quick enough. Not sure what the situation is with all the missing players, but we need to keep our fingers crossed that a min of 4 or 5 of them are available when the season starts again on the 10th dec

What a battling performance last night. After going behind so early I don't think many gave us much hope but the lads kept going & scored two brilliant goals.
QPR threw everything at us but Boyle & Helik headed & cleared everything that came their way, anything that managed to get past them was smartly saved by Nicholls.
We had good chances on the counter but we couldn't quite manage to kill them off, who cares though, we've finally managed to get two monkeys off our back, firstly to come from behind & win, secondly to win away from home.
Well done lads, we need to follow it up now, get another monkey off our back by winning back to back games for the first time this season.

I've just seen that they travelled down by train, is this part of a back to basics approach or has Dean flogged the posh coach to save a few quid? Maybe it's a common thing but surprising given the current travel problems on the railways.
Anyway it worked so fair play to them.

Won't be cheaper as they'll still need the coach to pick them up from the station in London. Even the Manchester teams generally travel to London games by train. Cuts a few hours off the journey.

First class return (open ticket), looks to be nearly £500. Their time of travel will probably mean they get that as an off-peak & slightly cheaper, but they won't get much change out of £350 per ticket I'd have thought. At least 20 tickets, so £7k just on train fares. Presume the support staff travelled down by road?

last nights win will be even better if we can beat Swansea on Saturday...then go into the WC break with some belief and the players have confidence in what the manager is telling them to do...that's a really important factor. The 'difficulty' for Fothers is what to do when injured players are available, can he get them to give 100% too, will it upset the pattern. I know we need to add in some 'skill' into the playing squad..we can't just play this way and expect it to work every game, we did have a fair bit of luck with QPR's dire finishing.. So Fothers has decisions to make during the break but no doubt he'll be glad to have a bigger squad to select from..but to see this 'fight' gives us hope we can survive and, as others have said, the Championship isn't as high quality as in previous seasons...Survival from this point will be as amazing as getting to the playoff final last season..

Anyone else thinking last night, pretty much throughout the second half & right up to their final corner, that getting out of there with a draw would still be a good result?

For the purists, does our second goal qualify as an 'audacious overhead kick'?

Makes a change good honest interview by QPR manager. Wow! He comes across brilliantly. What a refreshing change. Can you imagine Nathan Jones under those circumstances?! Great performance. Low on quality (apart from the goals), but the team dug in and won ugly. Considering the number of young lads thrown in together and going behind so early on, it was an incredible three points and very welcome. The fear was being cut adrift before the World Cup. At least the break gives us a chance to get some players back and almost a mini pre-season to work on stuff. We’ve half a chance with that sort of spirit! First thing I thought of too. The total opposite of someone like Nathan Jones. Lots off honesty, humility and integrity. Comes across as a top bloke. Yes he's clearly frustrated but isn't bleating about luck or the referee, Gives us a lot of credit and even acknowledges our selection issues as an 'excuse' for us defending so deeply an hanging on second half.

When its like that Im counting down the minutes not thinking 'will they score 1' in the time thats left.. more 'will they have time to score 2' 56, 63, 67 and 81 minutes, bother me when we are winning games? Somewhere in my mind these are the times we concede the most. I havent looked it up because if its wrong my security 'blanket' of feeling better as each of the times passes without losing a goal will be ruined.😔 Once we adopt the 'form square' defence, I suffer badly anyway... Our chances of a break or another goal from a set piece totally disappear...🥴

Congratulations to all for the win last night, and in particular. well done Mark Fotheringham. Too many people on here have been quick to criticize him, but here's hoping he'll continue to change peoples' opinions.
A significant factor in Town's win was the performance of our captain, Lee Nicholls, who led by example with some great saves and never missed an opportunity to go up-field and encourage his young teammates when injuries stopped play.
I watched on the Sky red button, when technology allowed me. It's been a long time since I watched the clock winding down as much as the play.
