Yet if it was Nicholls doing it for us. He’d be a hero. If it was Nicholls doing it for us he'd have been booked.

What's with the Cape? F*** off FIFA and Qatar If England was hosting, would we make the winning captain dress up like King Charles before he lifted the trophy? Yes please, that would be football disappearing right up its own arsehole. It’s not that far off anyway… I think the difference here is it’s Qatari money paying Messis wages at PSG so he’s pretty much obliged to keep it on.

I have no affinitiny with Argentina whatsoever but desperately wanted Messi to lift the trophy - Without doubt the most entertaining final I have seen.
Selfishly, I don't want to change the proposed format for the next World Cup as my city will be hosting game/s and the whole experience will likely be amazing and just the thought of England playing a WC game in Toronto is too insane to even contemplate.

It wasn't that entertaining up to 75 mins. Quite a boring one sided affair. Then it took off and ended up more like a basketball match.
It was entertaining enough but there hasn't half been some hyperbole spouted by pundits and commentators alike.

I believe Argentina also won the accolade of dirtiest team at the tournament as well?
There you go Gareth, just assemble a team of Barton & (Roy) Keane type players and you’ll be on an open top bus in 2026…

News on ITV and BBC showed the celebrations in Buenes Aires, nothing wrong with that i suppose as they have won the world cup afterall, i just cant imagine similar scenes and accolades on Argentinian TV if England had beaten any team in the final, it would probably have been a 'and finally' moment on Argentinian news programmes. And yes i know...'well England wont win the world cup anyway'...
