Anyone got any info as to why Jon Russell isn’t in the training camp with the rest of the team? Thought it might have been an injury, but then saw his insta post where he was training with a PT.

Was expecting to click on here and found he'd changed his name by deed poll adding the Marbella.

'The 6 foot 3 ace', sweet baby Jesus... “ Prior to his absence, Russell started six of the season’s opening seven games and was a key cog in the midfield, and given the club are currently bottom of the league table, this is completely the wrong decision to make.” Key cog. 😂 They obviously didn’t see him those games.

Perhaps I’m guilty of stereotyping here - but could he just be the alleged Yorkshire man being careful with the pennies in allegedly expensive Marbella !
Anyway who am I to talk as I’m now off to Mull for a couple of hours in the pub in Tobermory to probably see ma first full hour of World Cup action in The 2022 tournament and then hop on the ferry to Kilchoan and one there before heading to ma ex brother in law’s holiday house for two days and nights of ‘economical’ boozing in the house and at the beach fire tonight and tomorrow’s night with the stipulation being malt whisky only so I’ve a bottle of Loch Lomond and Bunnahabhain in ma bag !
This will be drank over accordion, guitar, and singing in remote Sanna bay in Ardnamurichan (the most westerly point in mainland Britain I’m told, so perhaps appropriate for Westerly Westie ! )
I believe that there is the relitavely new Adelphi Distillery in the Kilchoan area so a visit there will be a must to compare notes and compare whisky taste buds of The water of life !
Anyway as always The iPad will be left in the family home and there’s nothing doing in ma footy world until Saturday so I will see yous all when I’m back on DATM then all being well...
Cheers (Slainte) From (Very westerly Westie) !!!

He was a key cog. It's just that key cog was in an engine room that was ponderous, slow, lethargic, whatever adjective for snail-like you can think of!

If we arent going to play him and we arent going to let him train then why would he want to sign a new contract with us?
He's no use to us not in the squad so we might as well let him go for his sake and ours.
He looked excellent with Obrien and they complemented each other well but hes been crap this season when playing.

If we can't get him to agree to a new contract, then we might as well leave him out and try and move him on in January for a small fee with add-ons and a sell on clause.

Well, Vallejo is tall and Spanish, but I don’t remember him being a whinging, diving prick who constantly moaned at the referee, so maybe the comparison with Russell is fairer?

Might just have bad representatives. Might have been swept away by his own inflated ego... who knows.
He had half a decent season in a team that was playing well around him. This season his levels have dropped through the floor. He barely moves, he isn't playing the same passes, he's getting caught in possession all the time....basically he's been crap.
You'd think he'd be jumping at the chance of extending his contract at a club in this division. Im not sure they'll exactly be a queue of better clubs wanting to sign him!!

With the young B team lads stepping up as well as they have it is not surprising, given how poorly he played at the start of the season, that he has dropped down the pecking order. He also may not find the new head coach style suits him as well, who knows. It is a shame, he looked a decent player last season, but then again so did Koroma.

Depends upon the nature of the contract I suppose. Perhaps he's been offered one that's commensurate with being in a lower division & he thinks (justifiably or otherwise) that he can get more money there.
Maybe he sees his career stalling in our reserves & wants to go elsewhere to a club that plays in a style that is more suited to his game.
It's not that shocking that he isn't jumping at the chance to stay. Seems strange that he's not been taken along to Marbella though.

Happy to wait and see what happens (if at all) Not trying to be clever here mate, but I think any regular reader/poster on here is now able to determine that you are happy to wait and see what the outcome is for any given circumstance. Posting the same sentiment repeatedly seems unnecessary. Just trying to save you a bit of time.
