Did it cross your mind that warnock is clearly in charge of the budget and will be signing off the deals. The wily old fox knows how to play the media like a fiddle and he might be trying to down play our financial muscle so he can get more out of our budget. If he started saying we’re going for it and we’ve got lots of money koroma’s agent would double his wage demands plus we will be in contract negotiations with a few others i would imagine. He even mentioned financial fair play, fairly obvious what he’s doing Brilliant post, I can't for the life in me fathom how people don't get this. Because some people don't understand that to be successful doesn't always mean going for promotion. Personally, this season as numerous posters have said is about stabilising the car crash of last season. Making sure that the next appointment in 6/9/12 months time comes into a club with a vision and an actual plan. Some people will moan that we don't spend x amount of millions.

The sun will be out most of the day and there will more than likely be some morons arguing on Kevin's twitter about not being ambitious....

This tweet isn't showing on his official twitter page unless I'm missing something. That's why I asked if it was real, earlier ‘Two, three or maybe some more’ Well. I guess Warnock and the two new lads in staff is ‘three’ but I feel a bit let down at the ‘more’ bit……

Anyone else concerned by the large amounts of chat regarding tight finances? not in the slightest. firstly, keeping our powder dry is sensible. Secondly, it's not about the amount you spend it's about how you do it. Nobody wants us to spunk millions. But we do need to invest modest/sensible amounts in key areas. TBH. If the only fee we pay is for a striker and the rest are free transfers and loans, I'd be happy enough. (Caveat: Assuming we don't see key players - e.g. if we sold Nicholls I'd want a signing made to replace him with some of the proceeds)

A lot of talk of not having the budget for big players etc We have made the mistake going right back to Lee Clark of letting clubs know we have a big budget ,clubs and then players we are after suddenly become more expensive ,better to keep our powder dry I think . But throw in that we definitely aren't going to be splashing any kind of big sums on fee's or wages to get a marquee signing. Neil repeated that many times last season and now, he doesn't like working with "Premier League players", he wants a squad that is a family of equals who will fight for and support each other. He doesn't want players and agents upsetting the dressing room because we've got two players earning what half the team combined are on. He's here to enjoy it and do as well as he feasibly can with the squad he has...with the recognition that we need to bring more goals into the team (which might be a bit of a challenge on the budget front, hence why he was bigging up the likes of Tyreece etc - a player like that gets into some kind of actual fitness and we only need to bring one striker instead of two into the squad alongside Ward (assuming Jordan leaves)). And its going to be a hell of a ride. He's managed a third of the teams that are in the 23/24 Championship - it'll be nice and spicy! And thats before you throw in clubs he hasn't managed such as Wednesday, who will have their "thoughts" on him because of his time across the city!

I guess Warnock and the two new lads in staff is ‘three’ but I feel a bit let down at the ‘more’ bit…… It is on his twitter feed. It's under replies. I guess the pre season tour and Heerenveen add to those announcements so it probably is 3 or 4 in total.

Just watched about half of the Warnock & Edwards press conference before work this morning.
Really impressed with these two - Warnock we know all about but Edwards seems a very level headed, articulate chap. Really looking forward to hearing from Nagle - I'm feeling very optimistic about this regime.

I have (or had, they just got relegated!) a link with a club in that division, and have zero interest in what the other clubs are doing and couldn't name more than 6 or so of them off the top of my head! (and wouldn't be enticed to watch a pre-season friendly via any of them bar a couple!).

You would have thought, but equally we all thought we were financially very strong when relegated from PL and that last summer only needed a little reinvestment. They didn't quite pan out like that The accumulated losses over the last three years won't have us troubling the FFP threshold (currently -£39m). I think the point is that, even if your wealthy new owner has the means to do so, you can't dramatically increase your budget without a proportional uplift in turnover. In Town's case, suddenly chucking an extra £10 million in each season (not really an extravagant amount by Championship standards) would likely put us on course for FFP issues in a couple of years time. It's going to be interesting to see what Edwards has in mind to grow the business and give us more opportunity to compete financially. Yup, and I think he did hint at generating more income from the global platform.

Edwards comment 'there will be a massive Town fan base in the US soon' was quite exciting. Already a large number of Town shirts popping up at matches etc.

(Although Alkmaar would have had some level of excitement too for those of us who initially preferred the Dutch consortium's bid)

Because they don’t want to get it. It’s called ‘negative spin on everything Town’. Some people are just not very good at thinking.

Sacramento is broadly comparable to Huddersfield, and they don't get 10,000 to watch their own games (with average attendance (8337) DOWN on average so far this season compared to last) - if they're not really that into their own local team what on earth would get them excited en masse about Huddersfield Town?!

You do wonder what tangible benefits that could bring, yes its nice to have new fans overseas but in the grand scheme of things you wonder how it will affect the club. A few extra shirt sales and maybe some additional iFollow subscriptions and possibly more sponsorship money I guess but I don't see how it would be enough to make a real difference.

Sponsorship could make a massive difference, especially if we get control of the stadium as well. We could get multiple deals out of the USA, not saying we will, but we could using the contacts that JE and KN will have

If there is a plan to attract additional investment in the coming years, raising our general profile over there seems a sensible idea.
