I was actually going to put in my post that they could also ask the admins to change the title to Kevin Nagle And Other Topics  Edit: You may have noticed I quite like the tangents threads sometimes go off in, just to be dragged kicking and screaming back on topic |

I would pass judgement on Huddersfield as a place but live on Dewsbury Moor Ex gf lived on the Moor, mosher lass called Zoe with a daughter Caitlin. Fair few years ago now though, but I just remember it being a shithole. And then Matthews happened and Zoe moved to Hecky. My mate Dave Milnes' daughter lived on t'Moor too in some weird houses that seemed to have been built upside down, the entrance door was on the second level rather than the ground floor, their living room and everything would have been what is my CELLAR! Our Danny then moved into the flats on Moorend, but couldn't move back out quick enough |

I was a couple of beers in when I posted!
I agree the area has a lot of natural beauty- I mean we border a national park
Also the people are really sound
My grumble more is the council;
No museums - not even sure if tolson is still going?
No attractions (eureka, coal mining museum, Hepworth, museum of film and photography, xscape, magma, hipperdrome, etc all set up nearby and show what can be done)
Dead town centre without a sensible plan to improve
No big employers or infrastructure to attract businesses
We can’t even have our kids born in the Town such in the state of our health provision
When you have a family and see things like Clifton park (Rotherham) - which far better than greenhead - and other town’s attractions it’s apparent Kirklees does a really poor job

It's now a closed park after dark. So no-one should be in there anyway. I was referring to winter early evenings when its open till 6pm. Yeah, 6 is a bit late when it's getting dark at 4 in December. Christmas Market might be good. Get lots of "good" people there. |

Agree re Clifton park it's brill for kids usually get there a few times over the summer. Kirklees aren't even interested in sorting the paddling pool out for the kids Even the park at Halifax has more going for it. Shows how good kirklees are at supporting locals they got rid of Dixons van at Beaumont park and replaced it with some shite from Bradford Il step down off the soap box before I get in trouble 😜 |

And that's the attitude that's f***ed Huddersfield over for many years. My mum came over here from Manchester in the 60s and even then she was amazed by the self defeating contempt for the town from its inhabitants. Last year some older ladies stopped me to ask where the open market was. As I gave them directions they said they had cone on a day trip from Hull. Maybe you misheard , did they little devilish horns protruding from their foreheads ? |

It's a public forum with all sorts of different people with different personality traits, characteristics and likes. I'd much rather have the (usually funny) tangents than threads just sitting there stagnating. I suppose we could all go and make funny asides and puns on a Comedy Club forum instead?  I personally love seeing the different senses of humour, different personalities, beliefs and whatever else of my fellow Town fans, even if it means derailing threads from time to time! Jeez, if we stuck to the thread titles, we'd never hear of Westie's lovely homeland and his trips to Yorkshire, other fellow fans' tales of bravado, stupidity and heroics through the ages and everything else that would fall by the wayside and I'd have never heard of some species of fish |
