We played ok there, the only thing missing was shots on goal.
Diarra is a very tricky runner & if he can improve his decision making & final ball/shot, he'll be some player.
I like Headley, too, another decent player in the making.

[Was it?] Kasumu having a mare for the goal. Centre backs still in the dressing room. Diarra scares the shit out of them.

There is something in this game for us. Sunderland are bang average and we have had plenty of the ball. I wonder if Sunderland are letting us have more of the ball, knowing we are technically poor and they can break when we give it away?

OK Half, I think Neil got the lineup wrong. Headley & Diarra are just not good enough imo, that last attack from us, summed up them two perfectly.
Big 45 mins to go, Cmon town

Diarra the only one being positive - has Ward win a header yet ? Headley wasting most of the possession he gets.

Its a better watch than Swansea and we are at least attacking, our final ball or decision has been shocking though. A couple of times a good final ball is played we could have been in. We have had a couple of let offs though at the back too which is to be expected if we are playing more open. The missed tackle in midfield for the goal is pathetic. If you dive in like that you have to win the ball, the man or both. Just brainless stuff at times. We are still in the game. But unlike some of the games we have turned around, Sunderland are like Blackburn and they actually look like they could hurt us going forward. They arent going to do a Watford and pretty much give up if we get a goal.

Can only think that if some of those chances had fallen to Rhodes we wouldn't be behind now. We just look clueless when we get within a sniff of their goal

Honestly, Sunderland are shit. One of the least impressive performances from an opposition home team I’ve seen this season. Yet we’re losing.. The fact they’re pushing for playoffs shows how awful the quality of the league is this season, and again shows just how shocking the leadership has been. Having finished third and got to the playoff finals Hoyle just had to back Coberan to go again this season and finish the job, to bottle it as bad as we have done is just mind blowing. The pathetic underinvestment since relegation is so evident. I’m genuinely hope we never have a supporter interested in buying the club again.

Would be happier having Hungbo in the spaces Headley is finding. Good to see us competing but we are vulnerable on the break.

Time to give Ward a rest and play Rhodes. It won't happen as NW worships him but he's not offering enough imo

Dominated that first half They have played a weakened team though. 6 changes against reading and a similar line up tonight. Not having a go because they have earned the right to do it. Just a shame we played them at full strength.

No quality from Diarra or Headley headleys had some good moments ! The one he blazed over or the one he skewed wide from a few yards?

We just look absolutely toothless up front which has been our issue now for the last few seasons. All this talk of it could go down to the last game could be fruitless as we could be down by then. Can’t see us getting anything from Cardiff or Sheffield United. We need at least a point in the second half minimum to have a chance of staying in this league. If we leave here with nothing I fear league 1 is calling unfortunately.

We might get back in this it’s been better tonight, but Sunderland have had plenty of chances could also see them winning this comfortably what we need is a cutting edge fit to bring Jordan on regardless of his ‘lack of legs’
