Hopefully the players we want to sell on leave and quickly. Can do without any unsettling elements as we look to rebuild. Can you imagine the negotiations after what AB has said. Derby for example want Thomas. Someone down there phones Cartwright up and says we'll give you £1 million. Cartwright laughs at them as he wants far more than that. They say fair enough you can keep him, see how that goes down with your fans. I reckon we'll get half of what he's probably worth He’s worth what someone is willing to pay and whatever that amount is is still too much.

If Andre stays and we can't sell the trouble makers, surely they will just get dumped training with the kids

The market will decide what our players are worth.

Players fall out with managers all the time. If Derby want to sign one of the championships most prolific assists provider over the last few seasons they'll need to cough up a decent fee. May be others in the mix too. Obviously it would be better if he were known to be the model pro but we hopefully won't have much trouble shifting him for a few million. Perhaps part exchange too, those deals have worked out well for us in the past. What all this needs though of course is a canny DoF and we don't have one.

If Andre stays and we can't sell the trouble makers, surely they will just get dumped training with the kids Or they will be told to sit down and read their contracts. Any further breaches of conduct issues and they are instantly dismissed for gross misconduct without a payout or compensation. Just like what happens in the real world. Meanwhile, some people are sweating on finding out how much the new season cards are going to cost and whether they can afford to watch next season. Time for someone to instill some reality into this situation. What a time for the fans really. Sat through the horrendous season and are then told that half the time have attitude problems.

Pre Bosman you could get a fee for all your players leaving even though out of contract. They used to put players on the transfer list. Just wondering if the list for those released could also include those available for transfer?

They’ll also be some players made available for transfer after all what’s gone on. Get ready for some surprises!

Just wondering if the list for those released could also include those available for transfer? There will be players available for transfer. I doubt, however, that this information is made public; it reduces the selling value of players unless there are several clubs in for them. In which case: let the bidding war commence. More likely that players are pulled aside and told to speak to agents and asked to find another club, with them being allowed to leave when a valuation is met. Incidentally, the old 'retain and transfer' system was ludicrous. Whatever you think of Bosman personally, the changes he brought to the transfer system were genuinely equitable. Can you imagine an employer being allowed to retain your services for a significant period of time even though you'd put your notice in and wanted to leave, just because they wanted a fee? If you think fees are daft now, I hate to imagine what they would have been like without the threat of players leaving for free at the end of a contract.
