Should see the list tomorrow. Takeover now really close and could even have some news in a matter of days. 2 players offered deals to stay neither have signed them yet and both have other options available to them, maybe in less money but longer contracts. One extension looks like being triggered. Expecting many out of contract to not be staying some have already said their goodbyes to everyone. Ward and Koroma been offered I’m guessing then ruffels is the extension one You'd think Warnock would have a big influence on who to retain - given what he's done, his time in the game and maybe even the conversations with the new owner From what NW said in the press I'm certain he'd say renew Ward and Koroma and I think you could be right about taking the option on Ruffels We'll soon know

Who knows, but maybe there is a forum where speculation is banned, and only opinion and comments on facts are discussed. On such a forum, there will be comments on new signings only after they have joined. If I don't keep hitting the window, folk will think it's ok to speculate. At the moment I may be the only one, but I can but hope, that with the eventual support of others, I can break that window, and get rid of this cant. Although, I've heard from someone itk that, what with his contract with PSG coming to an end, we are only buying Messi this Summer. Feel free to discuss. Should we be talking about players once they've joined? I mean, until they've played a few games we don't know how good they are going to be. No discussion before or during a match either, only when we know the result. That waa another Drayton proposed rule I remember.

you are like a bird that keeps hitting the window trying to fly through it. It must be self harming for you to come on here and read so many opinions and speculations every day, don’t know why you keep coming back for it. Koroma is going or so I’ve heard.
If he’s done an 11th hour U-turn though don’t hold me to account.

Contract discussions continue with Danny Ward and Josh Koroma
- Huddersfield Town’s 2022/23 Retained List confirmed - Club discussing contracts with Danny Ward and Josh Koroma - Eight out-of-contract players released
Our 2022/23 Retained List can be confirmed today, with seven players who have First Team appearances for us set to depart the Club at the conclusion of their contracts.
We can confirm that we are talking to the representatives of Danny Ward and Josh Koroma, alongside B Team player Luke Daley, about new contracts with the Club, with their current deals running out at the end of June 2023.
Several senior players will depart the Club with our thanks and best wishes at the conclusion of their current contracts.
Josh Ruffels and Tomáš Vaclík leave having made vital contributions in our successful efforts to retain our Sky Bet Championship status under Neil Warnock.
Florian Kamberi also departs at the end of his short-term contract, whilst Rolando Aarons leaves after two-and-a-half years at the Club.
Four players who have been out on loan this season – Ryan Schofield, Matty Daly, Romoney Crichlow and Danny Grant – will also depart the Club.
Six loanees return to their parent clubs; Joseph Hungbo, Matthew Lowton, Martyn Waghorn, Tino Anjorin, Anthony Knockaert and Jordan Smith.
We have taken our options to extend the contracts of B Team players Charles Ondo, Ben Midgley, and Michael Stone into the 2023/24 season, whilst Under-19 defender Archie Sheppard has been offered a third-year scholarship contract.
10 players across the B Team and Under-19 groups will not be offered a new contract and will depart the Club. Thank you to all of them for their contribution, and the very best of luck with what comes next.

Personally I think anything under 7/8m for Camara we should keep him, purely on potential.

Thought Ruffels may have done enough for us to trigger his extra year, but not to be. I am told we offered to trigger the extension and disucssed it with JR, he was told about possible limited playing time and was informed he could choose to leave and find a new club or have the year extended with possibly reduced playing time. The club have been very good to him. Ward difficult as he has a longer contract on offer elsewhere, but wants to stay also. Koroma, i was told he had pretty much agreed to leave but we have tried to get closer to whats offered elsewhere completly in his hands now.

Thought Ruffels may have done enough for us to trigger his extra year, but not to be. Between Nakayama, Jackson, and Headley, we would be a bit bloated in that position if we kept him I think. That would've been fine if we were sure he'd be able to keep his level up under a different manager, but I'm not convinced he would. Can leave on a high at least.

We probably need a first choice LB/LWB but the 3 above should all be good enough cover. Ruffels would have blocked that, especially for the younger 2. Not sure framing yourself 22 months into a 24 month contract is enough.

All makes sense, and thats fair enough with Ruffels, means he can probably get a decent league 1 club. Do we know who has been making these decisions?

Why on earth are we in discussion with Danny Ward ? Yes, he scored against Sheffield United and had the odd moments but, put simply, he doesn't score goals.
We've relied on him now as our central striker and his goal scoring stats, for almost his whole career, are not good .
I know he was Neil Warnock's favourite player but please let's not start another season with him leading the line. We KNOW it doesn't work.
He seems a nice bloke and works hard but surely we can do better ?

Good luck to Ruffs and Vaclik, both played a part in our survival which I thank them for. A huge 3 points away at QPR thanks to a brace from Josh and that Boro goal of his was decent (albeit a bit flukey)
Ruffs is like a diet Toffolo and no doubt he'll find a decent starting spot at a league one club somewhere. Somewhere like Wednesday perhaps.
Disappointed it didn't work for Critch and Grant, both had reasonable promise but just didn't work for them.
Glad to see the back of Schofield/Kamberi and Aarons. Hoping the funds freed up from those can result in a decent replacement.

Im happy with the retained list in all honesty.
JK is talking to several other clubs.
Ward could end up at Bolton yet too, but I expect him to stay for another year.
Boyle has been told he's free to find another club.

Ruffles is a good league 1 player but for me never quite looked up to the championship.
Wouldn't mind Ward staying but hopefully more as a back up to someone better than him next season.
And Im glad theyre trying to get Koroma to stay. It will be a gamble for us and how he performs could be entirely down to whoever we get in as manager and how they can motivate him and fill him with confidence, but I think hes done enough over theist few months to warrant us doing everything we can to keep him.

Boyle has been told he's free to find another club. We can't go in to another season with Ward and Rhodes on the books. Neither are particularly good anymore but at least Ward can still cover the ground fairly well. I'd hope if we're offering Ward a contract that we're somewhat confident we can offload Rhodes. If not, that's a decent chunk of wages taken up by two strikers who don't score many goals
