Absolutely Fu#ckin Shite.... Every Bloody Year it’s a Championship team... year in, year out, year in - and bloody year out - it’s Deja Vu ! Just missed Wrexham as well... Ach well - I suppose it’s at home so one never knows - Handy for folks from the town and it’s nearby hamlets that wanna go... And a wee turn for the pubs and restaurants of Huddersfield is always good ! 👍 Yes. Apart from year after year when it's been lower league clubs - Lincoln, Sheffield Wednesday, Rochdale, Rotherham, Shrewsbury, Notts County, Chesterfield, and Bradford City all in the last ten years, so, yes, every year a Championship side...

Hope we take it seriously this year - havent been for a few years as we've not looked arsed to even enter and play anything resembling a strong team in it. Hopefully Mr Warnock uses it to bond some of the first team even more and open up a genuine opportunity for the fringe lads to stake a claim.

Wouldn't be a town cup draw if we didn't get a slightly better side than us from the same league.

Would have massively preferred a lower league side. Stick a few kids and fringe players in against a side that want to progress.
This could go either way. Both sides could take it seriously, both sides could put kids out, one side takes it seriously and the other doesn't.
Shite draw imo.

Bradford at home in 2nd round then?!!! Not if we field youngsters and fringe players against Boro. I've never understood that mentality; put out your BEST side every game and try to win it.

That's what used to happen in good old days when had no choice and no tv money!!, all the trophies are a burden to a bigger club unless its Europe or semis in a brit trophy!!, understandable really when you have to play so many games in European footie, shame football is the way it is now, sky ruling the game, money is what it's all about now unfortunately😑😑

To me it's a terrible draw. Not because it's another championship club, but a championship club that we play in a far more important match 11/12 days later. If you'd have asked me earlier, I'd have been happy with four points from those first three games, and still would be. Of course I want 9, but I'd rather have the three league points against Boro than a cup win against them. I'd say I'd prefer a lower league shit team, but on past performance, we've managed to not turn up against them either. Thank god I was there in 67-68.

Fleetwood away would have been best if not Bradford away, Boro is not good, but it is what it is!!.

Wemberlee, Wemberlee, we're the famous Huddersfield Town and we're off to Wemberlee... Come on lighten up ffs, we thrashed them a few weeks ago when they were seemingly unstoppable so it's time for a bit of optimism with Neil Neil orange peel back at the helm. Wemberlee, Wemberlee, we're the famous Huddersfield Town and we're off to Wemberlee

Awesome and excellent archives and statistics there Bassingham and Thank You for that indeed... Town have a patchy record in this tournament especially in recent years... Just a pity we couldn’t have taken that extra wee step in 1968 to complete the whole set of major domestic trophy’s but alas it wasn’t to be... But again - Excellent and Thanks !

It will make pretty ropey reading. Even in my 38 years of being a Town fan the furthest we've got is Round 4 on.....just one occasion.

Despite the generally appalling record great to see those records and realise that some of those games were real staging points on my life or watching town. Nottingham Forest and the 3-3 at home, for some reason when I was 20 deciding to travel up to watch a first leg vs Darlington. Taking my (sadly long lost) friends kids to Sunderland at home for a 4 goal win and still being friends with them 30 plus years later. Blackburn away and nearly beating shearer. Alex dyer scoring against West Ham. All from the last 80s and 90s when I was late teenage to mid twenties. Every game meant something. Life and Town interweaved

Life and Town interweaved I was at the Darlington game too, there weren't many Town fans there at all, 150/200 tops. Think David Cork scored the winner as Darlo won 1-0. We pounded them 4 nowt jn the 2nd leg.

Cannot recall the players but ref gave goal then Howson had to shove his oar in saying a Town player was unsighting the goalie, the bloke is a total joke. Last season at Norwich I thought there had been a change in the offside rule I had missed.
