A 3 year deal was idiotic, but he did better than I thought he would. He was shocking for Wednesday and his strike rate for us has been significantly better. If he'd been signed on a 2 year and released in the summer we'd be being much more charitable with him I think. He was playing far beyond anyone's expectations at the backend of the playoff season. And on roughly 4x the salary he's getting with us

First time around he was amazing. Then he forced a move. Dont blame him with the money on offer, but he did force it. Folk are carrying on like he came back on 20 grand a year, not a week. Since returning he probably earned more per year for delivering nowt than the average town fan earns in a lifetime. Andy booth also left...Jon stead...Marcus Stewart Are you down on these players too?? Booth - No Stead - Yes, another old ex-town player we brought back well past his best. Stewart - NO, we had him at his best and I don't recall that we went back in for him later.

The bottom line is that it seems that JR’s association with Town is drawing towards an inevitable end. We all know he isn’t the striker he used to be.
JR’s a bright lad and he’ll know that if he wants to carry on playing football for a few years longer he’ll have to accept moving down the levels. This almost certainly will require some financial agreement between him and Town. One for Mark Cartwright to sort out.

As I said, pointless. Crack on with the waffle though. As I said, you can't answer 👍 Are all the other people on this thread who have said the same thing talking waffle as well? I can't understand why there is no clown emijo, perfect for your kind.

Didn't Hoyle say to him after Old Trafford that if he stayed for another season he'd be allowed to go if we got an offer which matched our valuation? A move to another Championship club wasn't prohibited and Blackburn met our price. Blackburn at the time had just been relegated and would have been hopeful of returning to the Premier League. With the benefit of Rhodes's goals this was a realistic ambition for them. Not sure, but I do know we finished level on points with Blackburn that season. I said it was a sideways move at the time and still believe that, Blackburn were never going to do anything. Good for you, aren't you brilliant...

But if he does leave this transfer window it would to all intents have been a 2 year deal. Only issue will be if no one signs him and there is a further year's wage to pay for him.

Best of luck Jordan, and thank you for your service. You always put a shift in and never let us down. Don't think anyone could disagree with that, always gave 100% but didn't really work out 2nd time around, different style of play from his first stint when we had a more attacking side with Pilks, Roberts and Novak supplying the ammunition. Could still be a good signing for a league 2 side who create chances. Oh god, not Bradford again?

I'm in the Rhodes club legend camp.
Not heard or read anything about where he is going, so wild guess Wrexham or Rangers.
Good luck Jordan and UTT

Good luck Jordan and UTT I think pretty much all are and all wish him well, including those that won't lose any sleep if he moves on now and think Ward has offered more over recent seasons.

Rhodes?
Where we're going, we don't need Rhodes.

Just think we never really gave Rhodes a chance the way we played.. He's a poacher, excells around the 6 yard box but we hardly gave him a pass.. Nevertheless we need to move on now and hopefully find some combination that delivers around 70+ goals next season if we're aiming for top half.

Horses for courses and Jordan wasnt getting any younger or quicker. Still had the instinct to get the drop on a defender in the box and still hit the target by placing a shot or diverting a cross into the net but so few opportunities. He did always give it a good go though, cant fault his effort.

He's played 63 games in two seasons, I'd say he's had quite a big chance! Last season he had a 19% goal conversion rate compared to the amount of shots. He just isn't as good as he used to be.

This was apparent every time he started a game. No team have played to his strengths since he left Blackburn. It’s a mystery to me why so many teams ( including us 2nd time ) have signed him knowing he’ll be playing in a system that doesn’t suit him.

But he still got a decent return looking at his minutes. With a bit of context… ‘He played 63 games’ - a goal every 12.6 games In reality he played 24 x 90 mins overall. 0.33 goals per 90 / 1 in 3

I'll say it again, it smacks of an owner signing, thinking they're pleasing the fans, rather than what the management actually wanted.

The fans (as usual) fell for it hook, line and sinker thinking they were getting 2009-2012 Jordan Rhodes.

Part of the reason he was brought back ( along with Ward, Holmes etc) was to rebuild a fractured dressing room after clearing out all the arseholes we had accumulated.
In that regard, all of those signings have been a success.

The Facebook and Twitter feeds were full of it. However, you're being selective. Looking at the ACTUAL thread from when he signed shows many people supporting the signing. And making the (usual) excuses that all the managers he played under were to blame for him not scoring many goals after 2015. downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/115838/rhodes-signed
