Edwards looks like he should be playing with the Giants with that build. Even then he put more effort in than Wiles who was just walking around the pitch. If those two are the solution then we are in big trouble. Let the clearout commence, starting next week, we cannot afford to wait.

If he lost a couple of stone then I wouldn't be averse to seeing him here next season. As others have said, he's decent on the ball and has a wicked cross. Would it be lawful to offer a contract setting out that weekly wage payments were dependent upon a player not exceeding a set weight? So unusual to see such an obviously unfit player at any professional level in this day and age.

Has a decent long throw in. Enjoys pies. I'll stop there.

Leeds United away aside, what has he actually done wrong for all the hate? He might look big compared to alot of others but that doesn't mean he is fat. Has anyone seen him with his shirt off?
At some point this season every single one of our players has had a stinker and because he isn't a fashionable player built like a racing snake he is being given fucking awful abuse because of his build.
Get a fucking grip

He started 4 matches under Warnock, 3 defeats and one draw, then he regularly wasn’t regarded as good enough to start games by 4 managers. Even when we played Pearson at right back. Come on lads, he just isn’t good enough.

Bars too low to even discuss any feasible option using Edward’s 🤭 New left backs and right backs needed for next season hopefully. See how Turtons body holds up next season but looked class.

I have also seen people shouting insults about his weight at games and the people shouting it can't get a shirt big enough to fit them!

I have also seen people shouting insults about his weight at games and the people shouting it can't get a shirt big enough to fit them! As far as the general population goes, he’s nowhere near overweight. As far as being a professional footballer is concerned, he’s miles over. He looks like a Sunday league player in his kit, not a highly tuned athlete paid thousands of pounds per week to be in peak physical fitness. I saw Hogg and Lees in Da Sandros earlier this season Friday night before a game, both eating chicken and veg and drinking water. Edwards has been out on the beers at weekends. I think he probably could be a half decent player but if he wants to waste his career that’s his choice. We won’t be seeing him again (I hope!).

He’s overweight for a professional footballer.. He’s got a 40year olds bricklayers paunch.. He should be like a feckin whippet.. It’s his job.. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I do wonder if he does has weight issues. Similar to Goetze that Dortmund had? Or something similar. Only time Goetze and Tom Edwards will be mentioned in the same conversation. Simply not true, I've heard many a time at the all you can eat Chinese "That Tom Edwards goes t'buffet a lot dunt he?"

But he isn't 'overweight'. If he is over weight, God help a lot of us. So is the reason he can't keep up with players, turns slow and can't fit into a football kit mean he is a normal weight? I would say for a "pro athlete" he is overweight, footballers have a weight range and body fat percentage to keep within and there is no way he is within it. for a man of his size what roughly 6.0/6.1 ish he should be slimmer for sure more slim lined. Just looking how the shirt sits on him tells you he is carrying weight. The position he plays also comes into it, a full back/ wing back - its not like he can sit in the middle of mid like Kenny Irons use to and spray passes about. he is required to get up and down the flank at times and also contend with wingers, sometimes one on one and if you can't move quickly , then this causes issues does it not?

How can he be like this at the end of the season ? He isn't going to suddenly be 2 stone lighter next season. He should be embarrassed. Get rid.

But, I do genuinely do wonder if he has weight management issues. Diet/Nutrition and performance metrics (such as weight/body fat % etc) are very common in professional football these days especially with sports scientists. I'd be fairly confident coaches and managers would have said lose X amount of weight to be considered. Not so much fat shaming like pep did with Kalvin Phillips, but behind doors at least. I do remember when Goetze from Dortmund was ballooning up and down with weight, everybody was calling him fat before it came out with a weight management issue. I forget what it was specifically. I will say this, I haven't seen a player as "pudgey" as Edwards in the pro game for a very long time. I know there's talk of how he likes a drink etc. But, I don't think he reeks that much of unprofessionalism as some seem to think. Anyone without a headstrong/tough mentality would have asked to be sent back to their parent club, with the abuse he received post Leeds game. That performance was justified to get dogs abuse though to be fair. As I've previously mentioned he's been somewhat solid in his recent past few performances though. Fitness issues aside.

When he was on the bench he didn’t even warm up pre match. His job was to warm up the defenders kicking the ball from the half way to the defensive line to head clear.
