I'd be SO pissed off if we'd signed someone of the calibre of Darryl Dike, Almiron or Alphonso Davies.... Please tell me you are not comparing edwards to those players... Almiron is also a terrible example. He went from cerro to lanus then to the MLS for huge money. You compared the championship to the MLS. Darryl Dike came to the Championship from the MLS. Why can't that be compared? Regarding the others, the poster is obviously stating there is talent there if you scout correctly. Aaronsen who was at Leeds played MLS, as did Jack Harrison.

Lol, i said 7th to 14th, knowing that if i said 15th we may have finished there under the cowleys. Im not sure i said confortably either. I agree with most, squad needs a reboot, but its worth giving these lads a try and seeing whst they come up with. They finished 5th in the form table at the end of the year. Id be shocked if they could hold thst all year but mid table should be ok. The mistake warnock has already made is not bringing in a replacement for narcis. Does he honestly think he and ronnie can out think and out train the division? I highly doubt that. NW brought in Carl Serrant www.htafc.com/matches/technical-staff/management--coaching/carl-serrant/Cheers mate, missed that.

We should welcome every new player to our club. Ignore other clubs fans who say, he was great, he was shit. We should judge on what we see. Nicholls and Turton being classic examples. So welcome Tom and anyone else that joins us.

He didn't want to sign a new contract, so got benched for the 2nd half of the season. Turton wasn't either by Blackpool fans. Majority said he was a solid dependable pro.

hogg Pearson Nicholls all cast offs we brought in amongst others. No they weren't. Hogg was made available to us because Watford were promoted to the premier league and had big plans for his position. Nicholls would not sign a contract and was left in the stiffs. As for Pearson I don't recall to be honest. So cast aside then?

Well, based on today's performance, if he's as crap as everyone said he was I can't wait to see how good any decent signings might be 🤣

Don't be ridiculous, and don't expect it to change with any future signings either. If they haven't figured it out by now that you can't judge a signing before he's played then they're never going to figure it out.

To say he has been with the squad 2 days I thought he had a very solid game.
Not as slow as made out to be either.

Agree, solid is the word for today. Its really all about consistency so obviously we need to see more of him but on today's showing a decent addition to the squad.

It was our fans who slated turton for months on end. Until they realised he was actually decent To be fair, Turton WAS crap at first - until he improved to cope with the step up. Turton wasn't just crap to begin with - he was abysmal. Defensively poor and looked scared of the ball. Credit to him though, he turned around his form and became one of our most consistent performers. That takes some doing. He must be incredibly mentally strong. I've rarely seen a player turn around their form so dramatically.

Sure, you don’t get lots of rampaging runs down the wing from him but he’s solid and was probably our most improved player before injury struck. Just don’t know what some fans want or expect at times.

As good as any other town player on show. Long throw could be an asset too when Kyle gets used to the play. Remember Peter Crouch, to say nothing of Marty Pearson et al.

Fans changed their opinions of him when he started to improve, and eventually became one of our most reliable and consistent performers. But if you want to re-write history, you crack on.

I wasn't trying to be condescending, just replying to someone who called my viewpoint - based on watching a player play live, on numerous occasions - "nonsense". Perhaps he wasn't abysmal when he first signed, but he was regularly beaten by opposition players, unable to block crosses and simply hoofed the ball anywhere when he received it. He certainly didn't impress. However, my other point - which seems to have been lost - is that he has developed into a solid, dependable player for us. That speaks volumes for his work ethic and mentality. I have only admiration for how he has conducted himself and developed at Town.

There's a lot of exaggeration on here, whether because some can't help having extreme views or they're just poor at expressing themselves, but my recollection was also that he started particularly badly. Just hoofing it away the second he got it and not being great defensively either; looked way off Championship standard. Anyway, I think most broadly agree he's now at least adequate as right back in a four.

I genuinely thought Turton was trying but clearly out of his depth when he first arrived, but gradually got (much) better.
I also thought Josh Ruffels wasn't up to much until late last season.
Josh Koroma was significantly better in the last third of the season than he was in the first two thirds....
If people didn't spot the dramatic improvement in Ollie Turton's performances when he first joined vs when he'd done half a season then I don't know what they were watching.

Total over-exaggeration that makes the point youre making nonsense. he struggled initially with the step up and was perhaps 'poor' until he got up to speed. Then he was surprisingly good.
