With the signing of Tom Edwards some Stoke fans have hinted that our new Sporting Director, Mark Cartwright, does a lot of business with players represented by Beswicks Sports.
If this is the case, I figured I'd take a look at who they represent. Interestingly a few in the MLS.
Daniel Iverson - Leicester - GK Connor Taylor - Stoke - CB Jay Rodriguez - Burnley - Striker Lewis Morgan - NY Red Bulls - Winger Jack Price - Colorado Rapids - midfielder Kyle McAllister - Forest Green - midfielder Malvind Benning - Port Vale - LB Liam Fraser - Deinze - CM
They have others too, but these were the ones that leapt out as possiblities or interesting names.
Ods on one of these heading to HD1 any time soon?

Cameron Harper is one not mentioned. Young winger who's been gradually breaking into the NYRB team over the last couple of seasons. Interestingly he was born in Sacramento aswell.

Approx 1 goal in 5 games.

Pretty sure it was reported we had a bid rejected for Lewis Morgan last season

Pretty sure it was reported we had a bid rejected for Lewis Morgan last season Surely now out of our league considering the season he then had. I can’t see us being able to match the salary let alone the asking price.

Jack Price wouldn't be a bad one to bring in. Got MVP 4 years in a row for Colarado and has experience in the championship playing just short of 100 games for Wolves. Isn't a goalscorer, probably on Hoggs level for that. But is a set piece specialist from corners and indirect free kicks.

You'd hope he has more in his locker than bringing in players that his mate looks after!! Could be irrelevant though with the state of our budget!

People have gone through the budget hundreds of times over the last month. The budget will be higher next year. We can only offer low end champ wages hence why we can’t shop in the same markets as a lot of other clubs in the league. It will improve.

People can have opinions. But in this case the FACT is we cannot use Nagels wealth for our budget this season. We have to stick it out for one more season bargain hunting. Those with alternative opinions really need to suck it up on this matter. I find it ridiculous that budgets cannot be changed etc. But moaning about it isn't going to change that. Iv accepted that it will more than likely be a lower mid table finish. But with the club being more stabilised behind the scenes with Nagel spending money elsewhere for the good of the club. Until those with alternative opinions face the facts, this debate will go on and on.

If you don't have the intellect to enter a discussion, people revert to being a five year old and start calling someone a name.

No, not suggesting we break FFP rules. I'm just staggered we have to be so careful to stay within them. Makes no sense to me based on the way the club has been run in recent times. I just don't get it. I've seen the various articles explaining ffp budgets etc but they're all lacking in detail for obvious reasons. Put very simply I don't understand how we are so much worse off than other clubs with all things considered such as recent transfers in and out, debt levels, crowds, sky games etc etc. NW should keep us safe this season but then what? New manager, weak squad equals relegation or will we suddenly be much better off next year? I've heard all of the woolly answers but until there's some detail, which there won't/can't be I think it's valid to question it

I've heard all of the woolly answers but until there's some detail, which there won't/can't be I think it's valid to question it I'm not convinced the budget/spending limits is to do with the FFP losses amount either (**). I do think it is an EFL impossed/agreed budget, but possibly more to do with the fact that we were very close to going into administration. ** As I understand it, the higher your losses are likely to be, the more detailed your budget has to be. So it is possible that KN and his team just haven't got time to submit a new budget. They're probably still working out who does what, why, what everything costs, and what income it generates.

I like the look of a striker called Martin Paterson, who may be known to us and who is still only 36.
