Just listened to Eddie Howe post loss against Brighton and the amount of gobbleygook he came out with was unreal.."Transitions, delayed pressing, 3-1 didn't reflect the score, I need to protect the players" can you imagine Neil saying this after a loss? He'll be gone soon if they don't start winning.

Brings a literal meaning to an old phrase when you imagine the Newcastle owners are sharpening their knives!

Never rated Howe that highly, so it’ll be interesting to see how he breaks them out of this spell.
Similarly Martin at Southampton. A fair few decent Prem loans, good squad, gets bummed 5-0 at Sunderland. Another one who believes his own hype, talks balls to sound intelligent, edgy and ‘one to watch’ but ultimately has achieved nothing.

Liam Manning at Oxford as well. A certain former Town manager is another one as well.

Newcastle have lost to Liverpool, City and Brighton, all right at the top end of the table. Can’t imagine his job would be under pressure yet.

Should have done better with a good Swansea squad

Personally, a bit surprised Leam Richardson hasn’t got another job yet.

Eddie the Eagle could manage a Team of hand picked big money signings and get some wins.

I’m interested to know which managers people rate. All those mentioned seems alright to me! Farke has been decent, but I think there’s been a real change in longevity of coaches now, you don’t see them get long enough to really show their mettle. Mowbray has always been steady wherever he’s been, and I’d even say Rob Edwards for his FGR and Luton work. Time will tell if he can maintain them at the top table however.

Edwards very lucky at FGR in the end. Spent a lot, started well and limped over the line after being sussed. Sacked at Watford (fair enough, basket case club) and took over a good squad at Luton. Will be relegated this season. Mowbray didn’t win the league at Celtic, sacked at Boro and Coventry, relegated Blackburn. Hardly amazing. Devil’s advocate, btw, both ok, but it’s not easy is it?

Mike Duff would’ve been the one I would have wanted at Town, but can’t think of anyone better than Warnock with the players we have.

Yep. That’s why I said there’s no one better than Warnock with this set of players. I doubt anyone else would have a chance of keeping us up. If we were to have started afresh, I think Duff or Richardson would’ve been decent candidates.

Howe is a good solid coach, still think he could get the England job in my time. What may be beyond him is doing all the other stuff expected behind the scenes at club level when you get in with the big boys at European comp level with the big budget and are expected to manage big egos on the field. I think that's a different ball game in the modern era and a real test. Only time will tell whether he's got what it takes at the real 'top table'.

This the same Howe who used to manage a team funded by a chemical billionaire now managing a team funded by Middle Eastern oil tyrants I mean tycoons? I’d love to see what he could do with king warnocks budget and squad.

Initially that wasn’t the case in his first few seasons at Bournemouth when they were in administration. A lot of those players came through with him to play at PL level. Town were of course bankrolled as well for many years which is perhaps why Lee Clark gets stick on here. Plenty of managers have money throw at them and fail.

Fair challenge, it just goes to show everyone has a different take on things! I do like a man manager who gets the most out of the players at their disposal rather than reaching for the chequebook as a solution every time.
