Former Town player Simon Ireland was on his coaching staff at Wednesday, wonder if he'll be joining him here?

One thing he has going for him is that he has never been sacked for being shit which is a rarity indeed on the football manager merry-go-round. Not an exciting appointment by any means, but certainly not as bad as some are making out.

Who were some of you expecting us to appoint? Graham Potter hahahaha the bloke will be getting millions from Chelsea still! Rooney, just cos it’s Rooney? Or is it cos you wanted Warnock to have the full season and be basically on a farewell tour with us? Moore has a done a decent job wherever he’s been and has championship experience, isn’t this what we wanted? Start supporting Town and not Neil Warnock!

For all those who aren't happy with Moore, can I ask why? I don't know enough about him clearly. Is it simply because why would you ditch Warnock for him? Because obviously you wouldn't do that. Or are there other issues? All I know is that he was immensely popular everywhere he's been The issue is, why ditch Warnock for Moore. Not sure as its as cut and dried as that, we dont know whats gone on behind the scenes, or wether Warnock decided he'd had enough for whatever reasons, we just dont know for a fact.

Remember feeling a bit dirty in May when a small part of me was happy Wednesday went up just because I was happy for Darren Moore. Seems like a top bloke, and yes that doesn't mean everything, but I would be confident he could get the best out of this squad and will be a man the players respect. That at least is a step up from 2 of our last 3 managers. I agree I like him. He’s done absolutely nothing in management that would warrant any of us turning our noses up at him. His record is actually very good at WBA, Doncaster and Sheffield. Would I prefer Warnock to sign a 3 year deal instead - yes! But I for one will be getting behind Darren Moore if this is the man we go with.

Just noticed this thread was created by the guy who created the Rooney one yesterday.... Wonder who his thread will be about tomorrow. Moore again tomorrow, I never said Rooney was coming here just could he be as his son had said he was moving back to the UK for a new job. Darren Moore is all sorted the Sky Interview (his first I think since leaving Massive) was becuase he had only then agreed / recieved his full package from Sheffield Weds, and also about the time we started talking to him, this is an apointment with a longer term view and can build on what NW has started, it has been accelarated due a disagreement on the backing to NW.

This thread needed starting. Welcome to HTAFC and good luck. Needs to start well and get the palyers and fans onside, to be fair to him he does have a good record so far and seems well liked, it could of been more inspiring but it also could of been a lot worse. I however dont see DM as the person we have planned around for some time, this has only come about in the last few weeks. Shame about NW leaving so soon, but as soon as he gave the interview about the lack of singings it was only a matter of time. 100% Leeds fan. Started the Rooney thread the other day as well.

Was that a fart on 38 seconds? If it was, it didn't sound like a particularly healthy one, so consequentially the first thing he needs to do is get the players on a different diet to what the Wednesday lad was on. No respect, folk talking and not paying attention... shit show that speech.

Don't get why people are moaning if it ends up being Moore.
The fact is, we have got rid of Warnock, done and dusted... Can't be changed
So who would people rather have that's realistic? In no world could we ever get someone like Potter.
Why anyone would want Rooney or Lampard (also unrealistic) over Moore suprises me.
For me Moore is the sort of person we'd be looking at and ticks a lot of boxes whilst giving us a bit of stability still. (Premier league in 3 years though? Very strange comment to make multiple times in the presser haha)

Not saying it's not true but people have to remember that according to a lot of articles, fans insider knowledge and journalists we were signing junior hoilett. Did we? No.
Yet absolutely nobody had a clue about Tom Edwards.
This new regime keeps things under wraps pretty well so let's see if it is Darren Moore or not.

I am baffled by how people are believing the things Castlehillterrier is saying. Six posts have been posted and two threads started, one saying its Rooney and the other saying its Darren Moore. The poster is quite obviously a Wum.
That said it could quite possibly be either of the two or someone entirely different.

Now we are expected to call her ‘mum’ and forget about the woman we all loved and were actually happy to have tucking us into bed each night. ‘I had to move quick as Derek from the garage was eyeing her up’ dad says. I thought I’d at least get one more Christmas, mum says, with tears in her eyes. From her hostel. I just want Neal back 😩

NW wanted to sign JH, everything was discussed and the deal was called off at the last minute, he trained for a lot longer than 1 week with us. I do agree the club is now better at things under wraps with far less leaks, maynard for one doesnt get the info like before thats for sure. On Tom Edwards some would say it would be better if we still didnt have a clue !!!!

Whatever the club say it’s clear the lack of backing in the transfer window and the tweet from Nagle (Warnock’s response as well) is the true reason as to why Warnock Is leaving.
Warnock has obviously been paid/told to keep his mouth shut on the real reason. He has, however , laid it on thick that this squad could challenge for the play-offs. Clever. It means Moore fails if he doesn’t achieve that or nearly that.
Americans don’t like being told what to do, especially when it’s their money.
Good luck to Moore if it is him. Wednesday fans were in meltdown when he was fired.

Who remembers the reaction when we sacked Cowley and hired Corberan?
We were was almost unanimous that Town had taken an unnecessary risk, moved too soon, and sacrificed much needed stability. Let's hope the lightning strikes us twice.

Uninspiring appointment if true. Can’t believe we’ve ditched Warnock for Moore. He hardly fits the “We want to be global” mantra that Nagle has been talking about. And why appoint now, he left Wednesday in the summer!!!

Whoever comes in (bar Pep) is always going to seem like a downgrade on Warnock, but I don't understand the negativity re Moore. He's a good young manager- only three clubs managed but has not done a bad job for any of them. Look at his stats:
Win % West Bromwich Albion
47.9% Doncaster Rovers
44.9% Sheffield Wednesday
51.2% Overall 48.6%
Compare this to Wayne Rooney (who lot of you want!)
Derby County
28.2% D.C. United
27.1% Overall 27.8
Even Warnock has a lower career win ratio than Moore at 40.23%
We're all gutted Neil is gone but I think Moore is a good prospect, seems like a solid bloke that players will wanna play for (like Warnock, unlike Buzz)!

I am actually starting to get really worried that there is something in this. Please can somebody tell me it's not happening, please. Why worried, he has a good record who did you honestly expect us to get ? NW had to go (relationship was finished) and we have very few options much prefer Moore to any of the below Nathan Jones, Mark Hughes, Paul Ince, Steve Bruce, Wilder, Leam Richardson, Jojanovic, Jill Ellis, I also prefer him to some of the below who were also never realistic for us to get Lampard (prefer Moore) Rooney (prefer Moore for a manager, Rooney for the extra profile) Potter (some people live in a different world) Scott Parker (prefer Moore) Heckingbotham

Happy to provide my full support to Moore but it doesn't really feel like a coup that would make us get rid of Warnock immediately having given him a 1 year extension a couple of months ago being honest. Makes me think there was more of a falling out with Warnock and the hierarchy than is being reported.
Anyway onwards and upwards Darren Moore's Barmy Army
