Well there’s that angle, but there’s also the links between Cartwright and Edwards via Beswicks Sports & Stoke City, both of which are Cartwright’s former employers. To further elaborate on my earlier post. I believe that some of our barriers in terms of candidate attraction have been addressed. There are other things to look at though. KN trusts his people, and only when it becomes apparent to him that someone isn’t as they seemed, will the club take the appropriate action. We have an history of being potent in the loan market. In the summer we were very cordial, not because we hadn’t expressed interest and made presentations to clubs/players - clubs were reluctant to loan us their young talent. I think this will change in future windows. Certain people will be under the microscope. Are you confident, that the January window will be better? that funding will be provided to strengthen the squad?

Got little interest in people being under the microscope. This isn’t a rehearsal, they need to get five to eight Championship standard players through the door in January otherwise we are as good as cooked.
The recruitment is so crucial in these windows that if you screw it up that badly once, you shouldn’t get a second go.

I was confident we’d buy a striker and have no problem finding a decent one in the summer 🤷🏻♂️😂 I’m 100% certain that the club have already spoken to players, their clubs and agents. Theres 1 or 2 who will simply depend on where we are come January. Those in the club know that we’re short, however do not expect an all out spending spree. It’ll be a considered patch up to get us through to the end of the season and make sure we have what we need. Next summer should be very interesting!! For now, let’s hope DM picks up some points between now and then. For his, Cartwright and the clubs sake.

Off topic but Warnock’s son an agent and a Ruffells u turn, lad on trial same agent as Moore, Fotheringham and Kamberry an agent’s only 2 real clients (he must be a terrible agent but still landed the lottery at Town).
Football really is open to abuse. The likes of Harry Redknapp will have earned millions on top his actual wage in grey and not so grey areas.

Just imagine if you’d managed to get £8M for Diakhaby and £13M for Mbenza! Life changing pay day for all concerned. I’ll never know how on earth those deals came to pass. As big a con as Ali Dia or whatever his name is! Actually bigger. Can you imagine that happening in industry, a company spending over £20M on something worth a tiny fraction of that…and the wages on top. Scandalous.

Seriously that is a really sensible strategy however with the mistakes made to date I fear it’s going to take a little bit more than sticking with it and adding a couple of new faces. I think we’ll be bottom 3 in January too.

It's not wrong but to be honest its not worth the discussion... It is wrong. One of them offered to pay Hoyle off there and then, but he didn't want that. Total rubbish, firstly and probably lastly there was very little in the purchase price , any monies paid to Hoyle is if we get promoted, Nagel was the only prospective buyer who could cover the required funding going forward , at the end of the interest stage he was the only show in Town.

You can take it with whatever you want, couldn’t care if the Archbishop of Canterbury liked your post , nobody else who showed interest could offer proof of funds to fund the club going forward .It’s that simple, even you should be able to grasp the future funding requirement.

I think most of us who follow DATM regularly knew Maynard was the main 'in the know' voice while Hoyle was chairman, but Portugal was pretty spot-on every so often too. Portugal's obvious disdain for Warnock makes me think he had something to do with the club's finances in the 1990's, whereas Maynard has been a more recent/current employee or commentator.

A considered patch after the summer debacle points to a complete lack of faith in the new owner.

It was only the Dutch group who failed produce evidence of funding for 3 years. The other US group had no issues with this but weren't given the opportunity for whatever reason. Edit. The Florida group were a 4th group that didn't follow up their interest, not the ones I'm referring to.

Just fucking tell us what you know. To be fair to Portugal, we're sailing close to the wind as it is. These groups still monitor social media and have NDAs in place so being a bit cryptic is about the best we can do.
