We’ve done this rodeo before. Why would anyone buy drink or food at the cinema, at a shopping centre, at a gig, garden centre, going for a walk round Rother Valley….people do Art. Football is no different. People are so stuck in the past. Don’t like change. It’s a good thing. It’s good for the club. It’s good for the kids. Why is making kids eat shit, overpriced food good for them ? Do you have kids?

Yeah, you're right. Everything is fucking amazing at this brilliant club now. Hallelujah !!!! I just wondered how it was "good for the kids" Nobody is saying everything is OK. But why such hyperbole? Does it help? I've got a big problem with the club paying Danny Ward 10 grand a week (or whatever it is) for the next three years (or however long). I have no problem at all with the club giving fans the CHOICE to buy "shit, over-priced food". Apologies. I must've come home in a far shitter mood than I realised.

Weirdly you're not allowed to take a Costa coffee in, warm liquid inside a paper cup must be classed as a dangerous weapon. You can buy a piping hot cup of brown liquid in the ground though, it’s definitely not coffee but it’s hot and comes in a paper cup same as Costa. Not sure about the logic behind that but pretty sure there isn't any. They'd probably do well selling proper coffee in the ground from a separate mobile outlet, especially in this weather. I know mate it’s ridiculous. A coffee in a paper cup with the word Costa on it is not allowed but the same drink in a steel flask is ok. I bought a bovril on Saturday and it was like molten lava. I could feel my hands melting as I held it.

I think the last time I paid for food in the ground was the last match of the promotion season, against Cardiff.
Early kick off, my lad had been playing football that morning and was starving so I relented and bought him something.
Fish and chips from a van inside the north end of the Kilner. I think it was about £10 for a fish that was slightly larger than a fish finger, plus about 8 chips.
Absolute crap. No idea what it's like now though, it's not on my radar when I go to games.

Just to provide a little bit of positivity, in the form of a good fan experience: I did Terrier 7s for my youngest daughter (turning 7 this week). www.htafc.com/news/2023/september/7s/For £25 we got: A shirt for my daughter presented to her by Terry the Terrier An adult and junior ticket £10 off voucher in the club shop when spending over £20. I'm already a season card holder with my older daughter, but the people I dealt with at the club were extremely helpful in arranging this all for me. I was able to pick any game, and chose the Southampton one. They arranged for the adult and junior ticket to be next to our existing season card seats in the Kilner Bank, my wife took the adult ticket (first match for 10+ years), I was also able to get £10 tickets for my Mum and Dad as part of the deal. My daughter really enjoyed her first game, and is very keen to go again (wants to know why we can't go to Sunderland on Wednesday night!), the £10 voucher got quickly spent, and we even managed to smuggle in a half eaten Subway sandwich. A positive experience, right from the first contact with the club about this, through to Ben Jackson's equaliser. FYI Justasmithers (some positive feedback for you to pass on for a change ) They've been doing that for years mate, both my daughters did that, one's 23 and the other's 21. Difference being when the eldest was 7 the egg chasers were involved too so you got a Town shirt snd a Giants one and tickets for both too. Yep, did the same for my godkids when they hit 7, think they got a free ST through the Kirklees scheme too. Still got the pics of our Owen and Lauren meeting Pav, Terry, some egg chaser and their mascot. Owen punched the dwarves' mascot, ignored the egg chaser, but loved meeting Pav, der der der duh. Lauren liked meeting Terry most, didn't give a toss about the egg chaser and mascot and was proper shy with Pav. Free Town shirt, free dwarves shirt, free Town ST (don't think they got a free dwarves ST), meet & greet, discount in club store, all for nowt. They're both 23 now and still Town fans although neither are regular attendees anymore. Edit: Thinking back the free ST MAY have been with an adult one, in conjunction with the 7s offer, over 20 years ago so memory isn't good lol

Leicester have just had planning approved for the following. It includes Fanzone. I’m all for it and think it’s part of the future of all clubs.
Leicester City Football Club is pleased to confirm that its hybrid planning application for the development of the King Power Stadium and surrounding site has now received formal approval from Leicester City Council.
East stand set to be expanded by 8000 seats ✅
Fanzone area to be added ✅
220 room hotel and residential tower ✅🏨
New flagship retail space ✅

Take note, KN. (And, yes, I am aware LC were relegated last season, but nobody can deny they’ve had a remarkable few years and are looking good again).

That old, admittedly cheesey, adage "build it and they will come" does have some credibility. How much does Mr Nagle want to invest in a club/place he probably hadn't even heard of 18 months ago?

Town doubled their average attendance moving to the new stadium in 94. Capturing people’s imaginations works (it more than helps if people think there is a future with success in it, as we did back then, when just 6 months before, maybe even closer than that, we were a shitshow).
