Currently up in Sunderland for tonights games, its very very cold outside a really slight dusting of snow but mainly ice. They have undersoil heating so pitch will be fine, i think the game will be played without issues.
Expecting to see a suprise name in the starting line up tonight for us also, it maybe just on the bench but there is a good chance it will be from the start.

Referee Matt Donohue must have upset his boss, 4th Town game of the season & 3 with DM (SW & Hull).....Also did opener away at Plymouth. This will only be his 11th Championship game of the season and more than 33% of them are our games. If this is our 9th away game he will have refereed nearly half of them. That surely can't be right

They never said anything about it being exciting "Surprising" from the existing squad would be Turton, Rudoni (have they actually confirmed he's out long-term yet?), Ward, or one of the academy players.

We can pull 6 points clear of the drop with a win tonight and importantly keep the teams just above us within touching distance.
Get in their faces and press them from the off.

We can pull 6 points clear of the drop with a win tonight and importantly keep the teams just above us within touching distance. Get in their faces and press them from the off. Didn't we do this against them last season and brought home a very valuable point? Of course trying to repeat the trick doesn't always work, as DW found when we went to the Etihad intending to double up on their wingers to repeat the 0-0 from the season before and found that Pep hadn't picked any wingers, leaving our players looking at each other wondering what to do about it. We also forgot to take a competent goalkeeper with us and lost 6-1. This is not my prediction for tonight by the way and I trust that our players will not be looking at each other wondering what to do. Doubling up on their wingers might be a good idea and it would make a refreshing change to score first, or for someone other than Helik to score an away goal for DM.

We don’t score (0.75 xG away, and registered the lowest xG, 0.22, in a single half of football in the championship since records began). Could you please explain the bit in bold, I suspect you've made a typo (or not said what you intended). The website I consult stated our Xg at Hull for the whole game was a (very generous) 0.07 and 0.00 (NIL, zero, zilch) for the second half. The first half at home to Southampton we (somehow?) managed 0.03. So I make that 0.10 from 135 consecutive minutes of football. ....but don't worry the Captain has decreed that Town fans aren't upset by those damning statistics and the complete lack of attacking intent on display (& having to endure them - which I suspect he didn't).... ....we've just had our heads turned by a foray into the Prem and are now just unreasonable .....

'Despite the poor results under Moore's stewardship, he doesn't look to have lost the dressing room and the players are putting their bodies on the line for the cause.' Important fact is this. I also assume any away fans will get behind the team tonight so let's go and give them a game!

Great performance last season and the first time we'd really had a go at a team with NW in charge. Can't see it being repeated unfortunately.

I knew Busby had done 3 homes games under Warnock, but no excuses for replying without looking it up. Busby doesn't look anything like Steve Martin - he's the guy who's kit is way too small for him, right? I was trying to think of a game of ours reffed by Steve Cooper's dad, but failed. Googling didn't help since the websites don't seem to go back far enough and those that do haven't heard of the lower divisions. Do you know of any?

Tough place to go but if we nullify them the crowd will turn pretty quickly . It’s winnable but it’s also the sort of game we lose 3-0…
Hopefully unchanged from team that started second half against saints bar maybe Burgzorg or Ward for Headley if fit .
Going 2-1 Sunderland

No cant help you, they used to put the refs name in the programmes on the same page as player appearances years ago......if that helps.

If its a surprise name, either someone never been in the squad before or somebody who is meant to be injured. Or... a free agent new signing that has completely gone under the radar!

TBF if I saw again any manager set up Town like DM has recently, I could we watching them on East Leake Recreation ground and think I'd wasted my time and money being there.... ....and yes I'm afraid, that I needed my head testing. Hope it never happens again.
