I even apologised to my 14 year old for him being a Town fan. Told him to blame it on his grandpa for taking me to the Forrest game. Think those of us with kids have all done that one! I like to think its character building. I got a season ticket for my 7 year old grandson and can’t bring myself to inflict this on him. If I am going to make a Town fan of him his starting games need to be much better than this.

I've given DM the benefit of the doubt but I am concerned now Yesterday we had enough players to put out a team capable of winning. A lot of these players are the same ones NW relied on but NW would put them up in a formation that had a chance of winning like 442 or 352 instead of this hyper negative crap served up by Moore 442 could have looked like Nicholls Pearson Helik Lees Yuta Thomas Hogg Kasumu Koroma Ward Burgzorg With REG, Wiles, Headley and Diarra as players off the bench - all players with around 50 Championship apps 352 could have looked like Nicholls Pearson Helik Lees Thomas Hogg Diarra Kasumu Headley Ward Koroma With Burgzorg, Wiles, Yuta, REG as options My point is. NW would be adapting now as players are coming back. Moore persists with hyper negative tactics regardless of the opposition, their form and who is fit to play I'm not in the DM out camp but last night took me in a step in that direction I’d find it hard to argue with most of the above without looking a complete moron however the last two games we have definitely setup in a 3-5-2. And we’ve had more of the ball, there’s just no movement, and limited passing ability. I think the wing backs been even only a tough higher means space behind them down the side of the centre halves,Bristol and Preston have targeted that area with lees and Pearsons lack of pace. When we played the flat back five with a 4 in front that space was not there. Under Carlos lees or Pearson player ride side of a 3 and sorba was allowed to leave that space because Carlos had Hogg drop into the back line when we lost possession down that side meaning Pearson/lees could commit to filling that space. He didn’t have that issue on the left because Colwill was quick enough for it not to be a major issue. Warnock avoided it differently by basically trying to make sure the ball was in the opposition half as much and as quickly as possible. The squad is so poorly balanced that any slight tweak away from just sat with 10 organised behind the ball we look ridiculously easy to play against and we all know the issues we have in possession of the ball. Just my take,he needs to find a solution. This all said I’m slowly starting to talk myself into the fact that many are probably right.the excuses of lack of players are starting to run out.tactically if I can work out the above then should he not be able to.and if tactically he isn’t up to it then unless we’re about to start bringing in masses of players who are just openly better footballers and better athletes we will always struggle under him.tactically you have to be good to manage Huddersfield town. Kind of ties into a previous point that I made last week that I think Moore has a fairly low ceiling, probably mid table at best even with better players. I chuckled at townrwe when he mentioned chequebook manager because I think it took it to mean splashing loads of cash but have to say he’s probably right in that Moore quite possibly is looking like only with better players will he improve the results, sounds a very obvious thing but do the club have the ability to do it.If they do not then I’d imagine they will end up having to bite the Bullet. Getting the players in will get fans back on side, not doing so and having to sack Darren and go back on things they’ve said will certainly not. Tough situation.

To be fair, I could understand taking Koroma off after that first half performance. Worst of a really bad bunch. Maybe that's because he was playing at left wing back! More of a left back apparently

Maybe that's because he was playing at left wing back! More of a left back apparently I didn’t think Koroma was playing badly he was just too deep and out of position. Same for Sorba, they had so much ground to make up in any attack. I just don’t know with him anymore. Give him 6 new players and he may turn it around. The problem for me is I don’t see any sign that he can do this. Yohh uh can argue it’s a weak and thin squad but you don’t see any tactics or drills and set moves that prove he can mold the team. His plan went right out of the window after 3 minutes and we still looked like we were defending and holding on for a 1-0 defeat.

Was just about to post a similar point, fair enough set us up defensively but surely they realise if we go behind we have to change tack. Infuriating watching us knocking it around at the back and nobody showing for the ball when we’re chasing the game.

Before the second Preston goal, Town had the ball in an attacking position. We actually had four players in and around the box, yet not one moved. They just stood there waiting for the ball.
No one came short to offer a passing option, or to drag a defender out of position. No one looked to make a run in behind, no one tried even a bit of basic movement to keep their defence on their toes.
Nothing happened, so we inevitably gave the ball away, Preston broke on us and scored a second goal.
This one incident summed up Town's lack of quality on the ball.
It seems we can't keep the opposition out unless we keep everyone behind the ball, and we can't attack because we don't have the nous/quality.
Lack of quality and numbers in the squad is part of the reason for our struggles, but our admittedly limited players do not look well-coached at all.

One of the worries for me is that Sorba and Koroma are both confidence players. Sorba went right off the boil at the start of last season after Schofield played him out of position on the left wing. NW found a tune in Koroma that many managers (Cowley aside) have failed to do Koroma has never seen a left back and is wasted there - for me he's our main goal threat, especially on form As you correctly say DM can't point to injuries for much longer. He has a first 11 now that is good enough to at least "have a go" and especially at home to Preston Also you're right -throwing a chequebook and getting 6 new players won't massively improve our best 11. If managed right Nicholls, Lees, Helik, Pearson, Hogg, Kasumu, Thomas and Koroma are all good enough for a team whose target it to avoid relegation (add Rudoni when fit - maybe even Ruffels given his form at the start of the season)

Proof if any was needed the squad is well below champoionship standard (yes i know its been said a thousand times), what grates is the fact we go to Sunderland and win, the same sunderland who in their next two home games have just beaten West Brom and Leeds two of the better sides in the division, we just cant put any kind of winning run together, and thats what seperates the good the average and the poor squads in the division, any team can 'do it' on the day..even us, its just that the good and average squads have it in them to do it more regular.

We have a massive lack of talent tbh and yes, our defence can only work when there's the entire midfield in there helping out.. if we get ambitious and leave the defence exposed,we get punished at the back. DM is stuck between a rock and hard place. That does not excuse the lack of running and supporting our man with the ball...the lack of tackling instead of just shadowing opponents. It's dismaying that there is so much wrong ,,

It's dismaying that there is so much wrong ,, I disagree on the talent Nichols is one of the best goalies in the League Helik, Pearson and Lees are very good centre backs at this level Koroma and Thomas are very capable wingers if managed properly Hogg can still do a job. Rudoni is a good Championship midfielder We are very short of strikers and the full backs could be better (although I like Headley and Jackson are prospects. Meanwhile Ruffells when fit has been excellent this season) Given the target is only survival then our first 11 (striker aside) is able to achieve that The issue is the squad depth which is horrific and was always going to be an issue after that shocking summer transfer window that saw us bring in a back up goalie and only three outfield players (one of whom is massively out of his depth at this level) We need to be able to rotate players in this busy festive period but can't. Also it's not healthy having zero competition, if you're fit you play is the current situation

This isn't a side that can bid for the play offs...the talent we see is not enough, especially midfield..but also attacking play. Our aged defense will need refreshing next season..yes they're dogged but lacking pace. It's sad seeing Pearson having to play right back and being skinned by 20 year olds.. Our striker is 35...the other on loan...Rhodes 34 (?)... We've a lot of work to do but it can be done as Wagner proved, with astute transfer activity...

Agree if Nagle is serious about promotion he will need to spend a lot. At least 6 first teamers and maybe another 6 strong squad players for proper depth. That said this season is all about staying in the league - and to me DM isn't getting the most from this group - most of who can compete at this level. We set up and play like a village team that made it to the first round of the FA Cup

100% agree re the number of players needed. They also have to be clear Championship quality, we won't get promoted (or do anything than struggle to survive) if most or all of them are 'project' players where we hope to do what we did with Rhodes for example (buy cheap and sell for a large fee).
This is the thing for me, most teams, even those near the bottom, bring in known Championship performers. We don't. Every signing is basically either a project player, or a hopeful punt
