Come off it. It's an accumulation isn't it. Our fans have been incredibly patient with this club for the past 5 years through countless mistakes, poor decisions, and poor leadership. And through all that, we've been pretty well supported. To suggest that 'we are not very well supported' now that the support is finally dipping - as people are reaching the end of their tether with the current dull football and the dull fella on the touchline - is nonsense. In fact it's borderline insulting to suggest that our fanbase requires a reality check after the way our club has been run. We have literally 100s of our season ticket can’t be arsed with a home game cause it’s raining, we can’t sell out play off games and i might be mistaken but i think we are lowest on away attendances this season. I know the reasons why apathy sets in but it wouldn’t happen, regardless how shit at well supported clubs, Sunderland, dare i say Bradford and things aren’t that bad. This league position must be above our average league position in my time supporting them. Sunderland are a 'big' club so are in no way comparable, but for what it's worth they dropped from averaging 41000 in 16/17 to 27000 in 17/18. That's a 34% drop in attendance over one summer. Town have probably hit a similar drop since our Premier League years - maybe even more than that if you take true attendance - but you cannot suggest that we are poorly supported based on our current circumstances. Maybe it's been worse in your lifetime but that's in the past, and many fans will base their support on hope, ambition and entertainment in the here and now. We have shown absolutely nothing for so long, and I really think the current squad coupled with Darren Moore has become the final straw for many. Let's hope we can turn around our fortunes some time soon and I have no doubt the support will return. |

Is anyone actually going tonight aside from me? Yep me and my 14 year old are going. Wouldn't miss it. He's missing footy training to go and so are most of his team mates. Plus loads of his mates from School are going. Great to see the younger ones still interested in going. Better than some of the miserable buggers on here. Get yourself there. Get yourself a pint or whatever your tipple is and get behind the team. It's not really that cold and the fresh air will be better for you than sat indoors with the heating on. Get yourself down, have a natter and a moan to the people you sit near, maybe a bit of a laugh and a joke at Towns expense, and just enjoy the opportunity to go watch live football. Many are not able to do so....... UP THE FUCKING TOWN!! Why would anyone want to buy the shite masquerading as beer down there ? |

If they gave us the real attendance figure I think some people would be very surprised. It has been poor all season and as bad as pre Hoyle league one days on Saturday. Probably even worse tonight, though PNE will probably bring a few more than Bristol City. They'll still say 17-18000 of course. However the real shock will come next season if all those season ticket holders not attending decide not to renew. And if Town are in the division below with a price increase we will be back to late 80s Leeds Road crowds. Give over. There were times with 3 and 4 thousand at Leeds Rd. We could lose every game for 2 years and it wouldn’t hit them numbers. In the late 80s we were getting around 5000. You really think well sell many more St's at an increased price of c400 quid in league one? |
