Tiresome bickering fans aside we now know Mr Nagle is engaged and is holding is delegates to account We would all like some immediate action but we have to trust the process (sorry...) and challenge Mr Nagle if things don't improve over the next few weeks. Saying this that doesn't preclude an immediate decision being taken on DM if performances don't improve. Despite any mitigation poor tactics, insipid performances and rank bad results are still poor tactics, insipid and rank bad. There can be little excuse. The expectation has been set so we'll have to see what happens. Agree. Its big game for Moore this weekend. I imagine Nagle really wont want to change manager at this point but if it goes particularly badly in London then he might have to cut his losses and have a re-think. From his post, the people who chose Moore are also under pressure. Its a difficult position for Nagle. Does he have faith in Moore and spend money with him as the manager? Does he swap Moore for someone else and trust the people who chose Moore to not get it wrong again? I think hell stick with Moore , give him a better squad to work with from January onwards and hope he can do much better with that than he has been doing with what hes had to this point.

Moore got dumped by wba, fell out with the wendies and walked out on Doncaster... despite a win rate around 50% so something's wrong somewhere? Wouldn't surprise me if he walked tbh.

Something doesn't add up.... you run a recruitment process and the stand out candidate is Darren? Who interviewed him? How did it come about? Was he recommended by an agent? Who looked at the stats and misinterpreted them? Before he even spoke I knew it had disaster written all over it, I don't even think it's the following warnock effect. It certainly wasn't with me, I always thought they should have got a new boss In the summer with the fresh start. Thd whole appointment and recruitment process is and was bizarre. Heads should roll for that alone, I agree with Kev you shouldn't blame, but at the same time you should root out incompetence within an organisation.

I think a defeat this weekend against someone like Leicester or Ipswich or Leeds wouldn't be terminal for his chances of staying in the job, as we'd all likely expect to lose.
Millwall on the other hand, who are very much down there with us and who we can't really afford to lose to.....different kettle of fish entirely. A 2 or 3 goal defeat with more dour football and minimal attacking intent (like against Hull) would possibly cost him.
Any points brought back likely keep him in the job for another week at least

On paper he’s a reasonably young, ambitious manager with decent enough stats that show he can do the job; he has some good past experiences and is a well liked and respected coach. On paper I’d have looked and thought he is a decent recruit. He’s inherited a poor squad that was running on fumes and has been, if anything, weakened since he came in. I don’t think he’s the right man for Town, but I can see how the logical process brought him here. I don’t think the board will do anything without allowing him, and the club, to invest over January first. Unless we go on an even worse losing run this side of Christmas….

So who misinterpreted his win rate without looking at the relative wage bill? "He plays progressively more attacking football" I'm sure he fucking does if he starts every club trying not to attack at all. The recruitment of all key figures has been a lesson for anyone.... mates getting CEO and Director of football.... I wonder how the DOF found Moore? I get putting in place people you trust, but if you ran a proper recruitment process for any of these key positions then I'm not sure any would get them... maybe Edwards would have been around and about. He seems to have a good CV for CEO.

Took over at WBA in the Pl when they were rock bottom and almost kept them up..then got sacked when they were 4th the following season. Looked like he was taking Donny up when he moved on. Did take Wednesday up in play offs after somehow not getting automatic promotion with 96 points. How many REALISTIC alternatives would have had a more convincing track record than Moore so you wouldn't know they had disaster written all over them,,,and who were they??

Cynics on social media in general Social media is a different beast, a very large moron percentage. Most on here that have been rightly critical of Nagle and the club in general have given an optimistic reaction to the statement. The statement acknowledged the situation we are in so it was deffinatly a step in the right direction. The only point I would make is that it was just words, it did not commit him or promise us anything, but it is good to hear that he knows how we feel.

Been done to death on here already but his track record suggested be wasn't what we needed. Your need to look at his win rate etc with context. There would also have been an interview process you would hope. It was the wrong appointment and looked it from day one to many. His backroom team didn't inspire confidence either looking at their experience and background, as we know that can be key. We needed a coach that could over achieve, imo we got one that never has.

Id agree he hasnt over-achieved but equally he hasnt under achieved either, so dont think its fair to dismiss his record.
Would we turn Guardiola down because hes never over-achieved in his career??
Think some decided he was the wrong appointment from day one simply because he wasnt Warnock. There was nothing in his previous record to form the view he'd be a disaster IMO.

We shouldn't just be looking at win rates when picking our man, I'd assume the sporting director would be interested in how the coach engages with the fans via the media and whether his style of football is one that is going to entertain the masses and give them something to get behind.
Darren Moore is failing in every aspect of his job at the minute, and he has consistently failed in every job he has had to engage with the fans and play any sort of entertaining football.

He's never taken a club like (say) Girona and got them competing at the top end. He's always been at clubs where you'd expect them to finish in the higher echelons. I'm not disputing his worth and ability as a manager, it's clear he's a brilliant manager, but I think Slapps is spot on that he's not OVER achieved, just done as expected.

He'd done just OK with superior squads compared to his rivals, so the exact opposite of what we needed. I agree there was no reason to suggest he'd be a total disaster but absolutely not what this club needed bearing in mind the state of the squad and apparent ambition to get to the PL in 3 years. I think if my wife was running the recruitment process she may have plumped for Darren after doing a couple of hours research whilst knowing absolutely nothing about football, the Town squad or the context of Darren's record and win %age. Just felt like a lazy, obvious, inappropriate but safe appointment from day one. I do think appointing almost anyone would be a risk though, they should have let Neil put points on the board first, a perfect time would have been in the new year once safety was assured assuming the playoffs weren't feasible. Or preferably at the end of the season.

I think the little Welsh man would have done a better job and thought that before Moore was appointed
Luton were a similar club to Town..always the underdog and up against it...the kind of seige mentally he has would have worked at our club imo...and he certainly would have engaged with the fans
Stoke and Southampton were just the wrong kind of club for him

I know they’ve spent big money on players, but probably less than other Premier League teams. Even if they had spent the most (and, yes, cheated FFP), it’s not easy to keep winning every season, including a treble. He’s an exceptional coach with an incredible record.

For as long as Moore is in charge at Huddersfield Town I will continue to think we will be relegated.A more underwhelming appointment it would be impossible to make!I watch the scores come in on matchday with little enthusiasm nowadays. At least I will have a good Christmas with Bottles of Malbec, Pinor Grigio and 2 bottles of Pol Roger.

I agree I can see the logic of a team appointing him - He has a good track record, high win rate, just won promotion - fell away badly but still every other season that’s have given them auto. If he was a German coach who’d done that we’d have all been very excited It wasn’t an inspiring appointment but had the look of a steady appointment (which I think they wanted) for someone who had earnt the right to have a shot at this level Alternatives - an unknown young English coach / overseas coach (seen good & bad) or an English dads army appointment The question was always did he do well at Weds by keeping most of a championship team / resources etc - wasn’t known as a tactical genius / ability to change games and would need to learn and develop But at the moment it clearly isn’t working - the tactical / technical deficiencies are exposed Unlike Schofield who had to deal with the hand of coaches he was given when thrown on the lions den when Carlos quit he’s got all of his back room team here which is a big plus for him (and may be a big costly negative for us if it doesn’t work!) That doesn’t mean there wasn’t some logic to appointing

He was named the FIFA World Coach of the Year in 2011 after leading the club to another La Liga and Champions League double in the 2010–11 season. Guardiola ended his four-year Barcelona stint in 2012 with 14 honours, a club record. Guardiola joined Bayern Munich in 2013 and won the Bundesliga in each of the three seasons, including two domestic doubles. … Manchester City in 2016 and guided them to the Premier League title in his second season in charge, breaking numerous domestic records, as the team became the first to attain 100 points in a single season. He led City to a domestic treble in 2018–19, their first Champions League final in 2020–21, and their first Champions League title as part of another continental treble in 2022–23.

I was not too worried about Moore being appointed as manager as he does have a decent record, it was the just the timing of it. Warnock had got the team playing togther and for each other, his tactics worked and we survived last season and then we had the usual crap recruitment in summer, leaving a squad probably worse than last year or at least way too small. Until we got new loans or recruits IMO Warnock should have stayed in his job because I have no doubt we would be middle table had he still been manager.Warnock had proved he could work and win with a paper thin squad which is exactly what we have, so my main gripe was and still is they shoved Warnock out way too early in the season.

Did take Wednesday up in play offs after somehow not getting automatic promotion with 96 points. How many REALISTIC alternatives would have had a more convincing track record than Moore so you wouldn't know they had disaster written all over them,,,and who were they?? I tend to agree Moore's CV looks quite decent , so what's happened with Town ? It seems as though he does not have a lot of confidence in the squad , this is probably the reason he is so negative, at the moment he seems like a tortoise who has decided to retract into his shell for safety , If he reads this forum , its not surprising! I think we will know in the next 3 games or so if Moore is going to survive this damaging run of form , my guess is that he will be finished before the new year.
