There you are!😁 I quite like the Terriers nickname myself but then I saw my first game in the early eighties so we’ve always been called that to me! i just refer to the Stadium as “ t’ Town ground.” Could never bring myself to call it Galpharm or John Smith's either. It came in 1969 when I was a kid. It seemed that most other clubs had imaginative, memorable nicknames and ours was “The Town”. Bill Brook, a sort of latter day Sean Jarvis, came up with the initiative and the idea had a lot of resonance at the time; we had finally abandoned the disastrous all blue shirts, we had a young, exciting, terrier like squad with a brilliant young coach and BB made the connection with the first Yorkshire Terrier being named Huddersfield Ben (and bred here). Helped by the phenomenal success of the 69/70 team, the nickname had pretty much instant acceptance by most and has only grown since. It has now been in place getting on for 50 years and still commonly accepted. |

Has anyone else’s DATM on their phone gone so tiny you can’t read it ? It was off for a while on Christmas Day and I for one really pure missed it... DATM is like a drug - it’s highly addictive and you miss it when it is... well actually...Down ☹️ It said the ‘outage’ was caused by an ‘angry bear’ which in Scotland is known as an irate Rangers Fan ! But Bloody Hell - It’s a miss when that happens and I was really pleased to have it back... PS - I like the Mac bit very much as it kinda gives it a Scottish feel ! 🏴 🏴 🏴 |
