Just watched the "highlights" on Sky, fuck knows who the commentator was but he's possibly the worst I've ever heard. Have you seen our extended highlights on Youtube? Was he the same commentator? I thought the Millwall commentator on the stream I watched (& those highlights) was a very good & a fair commentator throughout. Yeah, I think it is

Why is all the game commentary in the January transfer window? Is this a case of going off topic, a glitch, or just DATM?

The fans on here are not representative of the fan base. TBF Could you please explain how and why you reach that conclusion. It's an easy thing to say. Do you think the thousands of season ticket holder's empty seats last Tuesday were not representative of the fanbase either? I agree with Allan but only based on my personal experience. On average we have a group of 7 that go to games. 4 adults, 2 young kids and a teenager. I’m the only one that posts on DATM. 2 of the other adults read it but have never posted. Away from that group, my dad, a fan of 60 years but now lives overseas, doesn’t come on this site. My sister, fan of about 20 years, never posted. So that’s 1 out of 9. I can honestly say I think I personally know less than 5 people who are active members of this site. Whereas I know hundreds of Town fans. No doubt there will be some fans I know who post on here under usernames I’m not familiar with but given my experience I’d say that fans on here aren’t a true representation.

Only two days now, and Town and Darren Moore will be aiming to consign that awful performance against Preston to oblivion. Can we ease relegation tension slightly, and go into Christmas in good cheer? Love that phrase "consign to oblivion"! Reminds me of the symphonic metal band Epica who named their 2nd album Consign To Oblivion. It's lyrics are inspired by the ancient Maya civilisation but could come in handy for DM giving a halftime team talk if Town are behind by 3 goals. "How can we let this happen and just keep our eyes closed till the end?" "Try to unlearn all that you've learnt, try to listen to your heart" "Open your eyes we're not in paradise. How can't you see this stress is killing me?"
Check out the video: EPICA - Consign to Oblivion - Live at the Zenith (Official video). It's truly epic and I swear I spotted Mosher down at the front!
Not me mate, never seen Epica live but some of their stuff is ok

Just given it a listen. Brilliant! Like their sound and that unusual combination of a loud guttural raw from the frontman with the lovely, silky voice of the female singer. Sort of thing that wakes you up on a Sunday morning, for sure - DM should take a boom box and play this song at full volume to the players before they get on the pitch on Saturday. That and an eye opener should counteract the sleeping pills the players seem to have been taking for starting the last two games. Yep, could well have been Mosher in the moshing pit at the front: did you ever mosh in Paris, Mosher? Only time I've been to Paris is driving straight through on the way somewhere else as a kid. TBF though a few of those in the video could be me Edit: First time I've ever heard it called a moshING pit though

Why has the Millwall match thread disappeared from the main board and been moved to the January transfer thread?

I’m sure some do but it suits their narrative to vote negatively. As for the sample ‘pot’ - if you asked 30 kids (6 years old) in a classroom if they thought we should have Xmas every month? Which way do you think they would vote? Equally, look back at the last 6 games and the voting on what they think the result will be. It’s the same people who vote most weeks including the 281, and the majority’ have been wrong. But they prefer to vote Town defeat and continue with their negative agenda.I’m not convinced about DM but the results he’s getting from a very poor squad that he inherited don’t warrant the abuse he gets - IMO You shouldn't generalise mate. I generally predict a positive result but I've voted Moore out in the one-sided poll. Look back at my posts and you'll see I've been in the positive camp until recently. As I say, you shouldn't generalise. I see a pretty equal split (usually) between positive and negative posters on here, just the negative tend to shout louder and longer.

TBf Joey you've not really answered the question, you've pointed out not all of the fanbase post on DATM. The question is What is the reason that DATM posters are not representative of the fanbase? It represents a fairly big sample of the fanbase (much higher than normal acceptable statistical levels). Whilst it's clearly not been selected to match charecteristics and be fully representative of the fanbase for those charecteristics (sex / age / race / political views etc.), I don't really see how or why anyone could reliably say it isn't representative (Hence the unanswered question). A sample of this size would generally be considered acceptable.

The opinions expressed in posts not so much due to the fact the majority of posts are made by a small number of posters who are very active on the forum. A bit like the opinions you see on Twitter which aren't a reflection of public opinion, just the opinion of those who post a lot. I'm sure there's loads of people on here who very rarely post anything at all but voting on a poll is quick and easy.

A sample of this size would generally be considered acceptable. My wording wasn’t great. DATM is a representation of a selection of Town fans. But I don’t believe it represents the voice of the majority of Town fans. To answer the question, DATM posters are not representative of the fan base as the percentage of posters is too small in comparison to attending fans. I’d say, at a guess, 500 posters voicing an opinion on behalf of 12000 fans is only a 4% representation, which isn’t enough to represent Town fans. In my opinion.

Unless of course you are not a fan? A little sanity. To have a chance of being representative a sample should be Random - datm is not Drawn from the whole population- the old and young are not here in the same proportions Be of a sufficient size to provide a level of confidence - there's probably 20/30 contributors who generate a high proportion of posts out of 20k to 30k people who are fans(lapsed or current)

Even though I've been a member from when Geoff/Jeff ran it, my post count has massively increased since July 2022 when I started this job. Before that I mainly read the threads without contributing. I'm sure there's many more like that.

It’s just a footy forum most people who view this forum appreciate that it’s not gospel what’s been portrayed on here. Just take it as a bit of fun and a sometimes good place to get some gossip. All the stuff about it not representing the fans fairly😂. Sometimes it will sometimes it won’t it’s pretty obvious .

There was 436 members who made just 220 posts. Overall, there was 64,000 page views. Make of that what you will.

Had a look at a Millwall forum and some of their fans were saying how good Rudoni was and how they could do with his drive in midfield, also bemoaning the fact he was basically right under their noses at Wimbledon, think they were interested at one time but nothing came of it, he did play well on saturday tbf.

Went down to Millwall on Saturday I thought the turnout was pretty good , the fans are still travelling regardless of the negativity . 750 turned up 👍. Norwich next UTT. Nice few beers and watching my beloved town beats shopping with the Mrs any day.
