He was a "get the ball and run with it" type of player, he was nothing like a Mooy, Billing or Camara style midfielder. He was the last player we had (like Mooy, Billing) who would receive the ball and you thought he might do something with it, never thought they were going to give it away. Unlike Camara, so in that regard you are certainly correct. You might've thought he'd do something with it. I didn't. Passing was the weakest part of his game.

O'Brien has a higher pass completetion rate than Camara... He's also played 200 games to Camaras 20. Etienne oozed class. Come on Porroh, oozed class? Maybe in years to come. Potential is there.

7/2 with SkyBet for the win.
Millwall 17/20
Shows how bad we are looking from the outside.

Manchester United are struggling to find a buyer for English forward Jadon Sancho, 23, with his reported £350,000-a-week wages believed to be putting teams off the £73m signing. (Sun) No shit, Sherlock 🙄 High wages are often a problem. Yes they obviously attract players but they can actually make them completely worthless. Sancho is worth less than nothing, they would love to give him away on a free but can’t. Arsenal suffered from it for years. Not on the same scale but it’s a problem we will have with the likes of Danny Ward and had with Rhodes and Holmes.

Next 3 referees for Town are named by the EFL, Lancashire ref Darren Bond heads south to the Den tomorrow. New to the Championship Thomas Kirk will be at Carrow road.......Yorkshire (Doncaster) ref Darren England makes the short trip to JSS for the 'battle of the roses' clash with Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day.

I’m going and, perversely, I’m actually quite looking forward to it. Maybe by 3.05pm on Saturday I’ll be regretting it all. Mind you, my ticket hasn’t arrived yet! Very occasionally Town surprise us all in a good way and we get an unexpected win. Maybe this Saturday? Unfortunately it’s far more likely I’ll be left disappointed yet again, but we’ll see. It will be interesting to see, in the flesh, if KN’s message gets any reaction on the pitch. Edit: my ticket arrived in the Friday post. Damn!

Like Birmingham before them, Millwall are only realising after sacking him the decent job Rowett was doing with the players available. I'd like to hope we go all out for the win but the pattern from Moore & staff seems rather predictable.

You can argue the Chelsea model is wrong but it actually makes a lot of sense. Someone said despite spending a billion pounds they will actually make a profit on the year which is ridiculous. Be very interesting to see how it all pans out.

Not for me - clearly a talented ball player but i never once thought he's going to run the game like a Mooy or even a Billing and O'Brien did at times. Credit the lad for a big salary move - reflects the talent he has i suppose but he hasnt played a single game yet according to Wiki and he's 21 in March 24. Needs to play, toughen up and build experience.

Man marking the openents best/most influential player was a tactic NW liked to use and it worked some of the time, like at Millwall last season. Don't think DM has the tactical nous to do anything like that. It will be the usual park the bus and hope for the best

I think we will see the team set up, in terms of formation in the same way . The only changes i see really are if Pearson and Lees are not fit. If they are not fit then REG and Yuta will come in, with Wiles replacing Austerfield.
If we can get the first 15-20 minutes of the second half on Tuesday for longer, that would be a huge help A.get a foot hold in the game and B. create more chances of proper nature, but also stopping the oppenets getting the ball in and around our box as often as they have being doing.

Not in Cartwright little black book? Is anything good happening that you know of ? Cartwright's little black is quite a few years out of date.

Only two days now, and Town and Darren Moore will be aiming to consign that awful performance against Preston to oblivion. Can we ease relegation tension slightly, and go into Christmas in good cheer? Love that phrase "consign to oblivion"! Reminds me of the symphonic metal band Epica who named their 2nd album Consign To Oblivion. It's lyrics are inspired by the ancient Maya civilisation but could come in handy for DM giving a halftime team talk if Town are behind by 3 goals. "How can we let this happen and just keep our eyes closed till the end?" "Try to unlearn all that you've learnt, try to listen to your heart" "Open your eyes we're not in paradise. How can't you see this stress is killing me?"
Check out the video: EPICA - Consign to Oblivion - Live at the Zenith (Official video). It's truly epic and I swear I spotted Mosher down at the front!

Just given it a listen. Brilliant! Like their sound and that unusual combination of a loud guttural raw from the frontman with the lovely, silky voice of the female singer. Sort of thing that wakes you up on a Sunday morning, for sure - DM should take a boom box and play this song at full volume to the players before they get on the pitch on Saturday. That and an eye opener should counteract the sleeping pills the players seem to have been taking for starting the last two games. Yep, could well have been Mosher in the moshing pit at the front: did you ever mosh in Paris, Mosher?

Having supported Town for 60 years I have seen my fair share of poor performances interspersed with a few promotions and entertaining football with the likes of Mick Buxton. Currently I find myself bored , pessimistic and frustrated with how poor we are performing. When we go one nil down I become deflated as the best result we could hope for is a 1 all draw but usually it means a loss. It seems we set up not to lose rather than take the game by the scruff of the neck and force our opponent’s into making mistakes. The squad is threadbare however the least I expect from any professional footballer at our level is to be able to most of the time pass accurately and do their best to be creative. I agree with what has been said previously regarding tactics, team selections and substitutions which at times baffle me. Yes DM inherited a weak squad however NW seemed to be able to motivate them in order to gain better over all results. Due to FFP , January being a notoriously difficult window and player’s probably reluctant to join us my hope is we can get in some good loans. Like many I have currently lost faith in DM and he will have to move mountains in order to get me and I am sure others on side. Mr Nagle seems to be well aware how bad things are so when he comes over in January it will be interesting to see what dramatic changes occur in order to halt our slide and deliver entertainment for our deserving fan base.

The only game Camara ran was Cardiff at home. He looked unreal that day, had so much time on the ball and every turn he made was in to space.
I'm assuming it was just one of those days as most other games he generally turned in to trouble

The problem Town have is that we can never blood a youngster properly. You should be able to introduce these players in slowly with a stable unit around them. We are constantly shit and dependant on them being brilliant or having to rely on 3 or 4 young players at a time. Goes back to what we've all being saying, the first team needs major investment. There's no shortcuts here.

Big game today.
I think it’s reasonable that we ask for:
- an improvement in performance. Perhaps that’s tough on the ball (because we’re rubbish) but no silly mistakes off it.
- to do everything possible to avoid dropping into the bottom three.
Sadly, I think it’s quite likely that by that time the match finishes, we will be in the relegation zone.

New Lions boss Joe Edwards dished out a 4-0 drubbing at SW in his 1st match before the international break, since the return its been downhill with 4 defeats (includes top 2) & 1 draw so the visit of Town could be an early Xmas gift. Bad defeats for either manager could see one spending Boxing day at home & the other needing a police escort from the Den......Safe to say a drab draw sees both buying time for now..0-0/1-1

Could a 4-0 or score like that see Moore sacked? It should otherwise apart from the away section the ground could look like the pandemic has returned on Boxing day.......I suspect a lot will have made other plans anyway, a possible near full house if he goes.

Millwall have the worst home record in the Championship. What a great game for them to get their season back on track against Darren Moore's Powderpuff town AFC.
He'll set-up like we're at the Etihad.
