it was not confirmed....... DM doesnt really say anything about injuries as normal he does not want to give much away. LN was training today and depending on doctors maybe available tomorrow, this will be decided tomorrow. BJ should be fine to be back in the squad DK I think he will be missing unless a lot better tomorrow. MP out for at least a month maybe longer. Maxwell very doubtful I expect he will not make the game tomorrow. FA concussion protocols say that players cannot play a match until 7 days after they begin full contact training. So, if Nicholls has had concussion, he can't play until the Man City game if today was his first day of training.

Back in 1970 it was:- 1/ Middlesbrough away to clinch promotion 2/ Blackburn away to win the league 😀 I was lucky enough to be at both. Stevie Smith and Frankie were the heroes. Really, really happy days

Middlesbrough are as unpredictable as Blackburn. Don't get why people seem to fear them. They aren't that good. Performance like Boxing Day and we win.

Seems a bit over the top with regards to Nicholls! His injury occurred on 16th December, can’t see how you can still be “concussed” a fortnight later! I reckon he wants out!

Many players with the same injury have had 48 hours concussion period. I may be in a minority, but I am also still struggling to see where Nicholls actually got hit in the head with the Millwall player.

Will Nicholls be available? My lad was mascot on Boxing Day and LN is his favourite player. Managed to have a brief chat with him when signing autographs and he said as this was his second concussion protocol of the season, it is for longer and he wouldn't be available for the Boro game.

To be fair mate, only in the mid 80's was it a reasonably regular fixture even then it was only for 3 seasons, then a huge gap until the 2000's, where it becomes reasonbley regular. We haven't been in the same division that many times, I wouldn't have thought, since the first meeting you saw. Probably correct; I don't miss many and I've only seen us play them 18 times at home in the league (and once in this season's Carabao Cup), starting with the first time I saw us win in 1964. Missed the 1965 and 1966 (!) matches, but no others until the Covid season. Only seen us up there 3 times - 67-68, 69-70 and the League Cup 5-1. I can't say that I've ever liked Boro, Walton. Just remembered that I didn't see a great deal of the 2-1 win in 2013, when Lee and Ward both scored in injury time, but then nobody did, because of the fog. I recall them attacking the 'wrong' end (ask Darren) for the last couple of minutes and just hoping that we wouldn't see them celebrating because we couldn't see the ball. That's a lot of games v Boro, the 1st time I saw them at Leeds Road was in 72/73 season & I was quite impressed with them, also their fans caused havoc on the terraces that day. They had some useful players like keeper Platt, Maddren, Craggs etc, add veteran Nobby Stiles & youngsters Graeme Souness, David Armstrong, John Hickton.....No surprise they were easy title winners the year after & did well in division one for a number of years from promotion.

Brain injuries are incredibly serious. To have two in short order is worrying in itself. An extended period of absence is to protect him from potential complications. It's incredibly annoying that a keeper who might actually be fit is missing, while another goalkeeper is injured, and we're relying on a kid on full debut. But given the bigger picture, it's sensible.

Just do defensively what we did the other day, basic defensive plan, keep the bleeding ball as far as you can from your goal for as long as is bleeding possible. Hudlin could have come on and gone in goal. Or maybe just trust Chapman. ??

I may have missed it, but has Maxwell definitely been ruled out?
He pulled up in a more precautionary fashion on Tues, but then again I’m no expert in these things.

As others have suggested he may want out and I'd not be surprised to see us sell him in this coming window. Anyway Moore himself didn't entirely rule him out according to the Examiner yesterday: "On Nicholls, Moore added: “He’s with the medical team, the doctor as such really. Only when the doctor really gives me the thumbs up with him, which again is somebody who I’ll be speaking to later on today on his matter really. That’s where Lee’s at at the moment, he’s in the medical team’s hands.”

Bit of slack organisation by "the medical team". Knowing that he would be asked about all players, I would have expected them to give him a brief before the presser, rather than wait for him to contact them.
As with the way that he casually dismissed Ward's availability.....

Or Nichols has been tapped up and is off next week? I heard that his body has been taken over by an alien being who is more susceptible to head trauma. It was on Mail Online, just for a few minutes , but the government made them take it off!!!!
