Means absolutely nothing. We didn't get to the PL did we with him? He got a tune out of a squad. But it was boring. His 1st season, he was absolutely crap. With the players he had, even with injuries, is probably worse than how DM is doing with this current crop. Didn't mean nothing to me. The football was drab at times, but I still enjoyed the ride. I am 50 this year and in my lifetime we have genuinely had a chance to reach the top division twice: once under Wagner and once under Corberan. These types of seasons only come around occasionally for a club like us - it might not happen again in my lifetime. I can't fathom how anyone can say coming third in the Championship and within 90 mins of the Premier League "means nothing." We weren’t 90 mins from the Prem, we were 2 absolutely stone wall pens from the Prem.

Oddly, for a team which is top of the league by a mile, packed with stars and able to score at will, Leicester really are insanely boring to watch. Was wondering why their fans were some of the worst I've ever seen in 50+ years (Sheffield United last season very similar), maybe you've hit the nail on the head.

You mean employing a coach who got us to within 90 minutes of the premier league with a rank average squad? Mmmm, let me think... Means absolutely nothing. We didn't get to the PL did we with him? He got a tune out of a squad. But it was boring. His 1st season, he was absolutely crap. With the players he had, even with injuries, is probably worse than how DM is doing with this current crop. Up to Boxing Day the football under Moore had been as shit as anything I remember in 50 years of watching. It wasn't even an attempt to try and play football.

The 7+ billion didn’t abstain, they weren’t given the chance to vote. Yet more drivel ! How weren't they given the chance ? No one had stopped them from signing up and voting, it's just the lazy bastards chose not to do so 🤔 The 7+ billions have realised just how much DATM is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, and have decided that exposure to some of the most miserable bastards on gods earth really isn’t worth the effort to sign upto DATM.

Surely a quality coach would improve thr performances irrelevant of who was available, the last one did.

Abstaining is a vote for the status quo as far as I'm concerned. The 7+ billion didn’t abstain, they weren’t given the chance to vote. Yet more drivel ! Yeah whatever.

Would have to agree,Warnock worked wonders last season but I don’t remember him having too many injuries to contend with. The football in general has improved from mostly everything pre Bristol at home with a couple of,I would say, good home performances in there too. However the results are still unfortunately as inconsistent. The next four league games could be very very important.

Sort of agree had DM not picked Burgzorb against Blackburn he may well still be fit!

Been back a few hours and chance to reflect. I think their goal was their first shot on target and up to that point we looked quite comfortable. Headley injury was a big blow. We scored, hit the crossbar and their keeper made a couple of really good saves. Town fans never stopped singing and effort from players can’t be faulted.
However, some of usually better players had poor games - Kasuma, Thomas, Koroma and Helik. And is it just me or should Nicholls now be our 3rd choice keeper?
And why the fu!k doesn’t DM play the beach when it’s obvious we can’t win and give some lads some game time and others a rest? Makes no sense to me?

On the last point I agree in an ideal world however(and this will sound ridiculous) it’s damage limitation 😂 I think start introducing the young lads and it could end up completely all over the gaff.Last thing you need is 6 or 7-1…4 is bad enough. Ayina is point in case his lack of positional sense, spacial awareness and generally little experience contributed to at least two of the goals.

True.the ideal time to sling 2/3 in at a time would be if we could ever have more than one cup game in each competition 😂 Or if we could ever just be bloody comfortable in sort of mid table. If you’re at either end of the table it’s too risky. That said I get your point on today, trouble is he brings a couple on at 4-1 and we lose 7 he gets slaughtered..or more than he is anyway.

The last 10 minutes of the Blackburn game would have been ideal to give Iorpenda a run out, but we'd run out of substitution 'slots' due to the Maxwell & Kasumu injuries. He might end up making his debut at The Etihad instead...

Diarra case in point but this is for another thread

The problem DM has now, next Sunday the likes of Falls, Stones and Lorpenda should be starting against Man City as we need to rest as many players as we can. But they've been sat on the bench for a number of games playing no minutes at all, or at least Lorpenda has.

Spot on regarding Ayana - The lad really needs to be out on loan at a decent lower league club. Throwing him in against what was, to all effects, a Premier League team did him no favours.

Are you mad, we were thrashed 4-1 by Leicester City, who rested players today, we were all over the place! Warnock was a revelation, compared to Darren Moore, ok we have injuries, most teams have injuries to key players. We look like a relegation team, I want DM to be successful, at Town, there was improvement v Blackburn & Boro, unfortunately under Darren Moore, we're en route to English Football League 1. Teams such as Rotherham, Wendies & QPR are battling for survival, whereas we look doomed. The prospect of playing Citeh next week is scary, we shipped 4 today, could it be 10 at the Etihad Stadium?

REG is approaching 25, High is v nearly 23, Austerfield 22, Ayina nearly 21 as is Diarra. The first 4 have all had loan spells away and in Ayina’s case seemed to do ok north of the border. It’s been a problem for a few years now bridging the considerable gap between u23 football and the first team here.

Guardian Championship roundup. "Leicester extended their lead at the top of the Championship to 10 points after thrashing struggling Huddersfield 4-1" "Leeds close the gap on Southampton to four points with a 3-0 win over Birmingham at Elland Road" Can someone please explain to me how 4-1, a 3 goal margin, is a thrashing but 3-0, a 3 goal margin is just a win? Especially as Leeds had 21 shots with 11 on target to Leicester's 19 with 6 on target. Plus Birmingham managed 8 with 1 on target to Towns 12 with 4 on target. Which one looks like the bigger mauling? What absolute plonkers. It’s a thrashing we are shite The issue perhaps is being 3 down before we manage an attempt on target?? We were out of the game. Leicester are a good side but you really do have to see if they are up for a game, not allow them to jog through 60 minutes, get a goal or two or 3 before you turn up. Of course we could have lost an earlier goal had we been properly pro active from the start, but we may have scored and given ourselves somdthing to bite on. If we simply dont go forward at least 4 of the opposition dont break sweat and given that we scored a goal at 60 odd minutes and should have scored shortly after, against a defence that had, had the game off up to then, its annoying. Im actually more annoyed about what we did after getting it back to 1-1 against Boro, that really was the time to go for it. Today would have been far less important had we collected 6 points. Bad decisions at bad times compounded by poor tactics at the wrong times. We play the percentages badly and the law of averages works against us because we allow it to.

Round and round we go....
