Very sad to ìnform you that former Town player, Bobby Hoy, has passed away.
He played for the club between 1965 and 1975 and is fondly remembered by Town fans of that generation.
Viva, Bobby Hoy!

Sad to hear that yet another player from my early years as a Town fan has passed. Players from that era will always be remembered by me far longer than any of today’s lot.
Bobby Hoy had a strange career with Town in my opinion. He looked like he could have become a top player but never quite fulfilled his potential. He had lots of opportunities to become first choice right winger but never really took them and would be out of the team for a spell, usually due to loss of form. Some fans loved him but plenty weren’t so keen.
I recall there were occasional stories of off-field problems with him. Apparently he was a gifted guitarist.

I expect I was there as a toddler for some of his games but no recollection tbh. I remember older brother and dad talking about him after coming back from games I didn't go to. RIP Bobby

Never saw him play, but a fondly remembered player for Town, which says a lot.
Always sad when a former players passes away, particularly one who spent a substantial part of their career at our club.
RIP Bobby.

Sad news indeed and a reminder of your own mortality when we lose those who were playing when you started following Town. RIP Bobby.

He was part of the team when I first started going to Town with my Dad but I was too young to really remember his play.
Best wishes to his family, RIP Bobby.

would have given a lesson to current town players on how to react when tackled or fouled, not sure why he never went on to better things seem to recollect he seemed to be swapped regularly for steve smith- but part of a great small squad that won the league and stayed up the following season before it all fell apart - sounds familiar, not many left from that promotion squad!

Very sad news, Bobby scored twice in my first away game in a 3-2 win at Burnley back in 1970, great memories RIP That was a game and a half. If anyone does not remember matches where nearly all passes are forward and teams regularly played with 3 or 4 exclusively 'up front', its on you tube and worth a watch. RIP.. Bobby, Bobby Hoy..

In a 70s team with quality players that would have been worth a few bob in todays market.
We need a player that was of Hoys quality in todays team and try to find another big Frank while we are at it.
Great player R I P

Wasn't Bobby the shortest player in the whole league at the time. Roll model for us shorties......!!!....Or am I getting confused.....? RIP.

A great dribbler who could also shoot. Bobby had bags of ability and, on his day, was a joy to watch. A true Cowshed hero. RIP.

I remember being stood behind the goal with my brother among all Manure fans when Bobby scored in the 1-1 at Old Trafford. Never have I not celebrated a Town goal more internally than that. RIP Bobby and thanks for the memories.
