Wondered if anyone would be able to help me.
For those of you that have been to games in Europe - what's the best way to get tickets?
My son would like to go to a Lazio game later this season - where should we look to buy the tickets? Do we buy them straight from the club or is there a third party site that would work? It doesn't necessarily have to be the cheapest option, but a legitimate way.

Always direct from the club or their official ticket supplier. Otherwise you’ll get ripped off. The only other occasion would be if it’s sold out, but shouldn’t be a problem at Lazio. I suppose it depends on who they’re playing, but tickets on sale a week before the game in Italy.

Some travel agents and various companies specialise in sporting/football weekends in Europe..ie flight accommodation and match ticket, the convenience of a package but i would imagine you'd be paying over the odds though.

Did a football trip to Italy a few year ago didn’t go with tickets, Milan and Genoa you could purchase at the club superstore if I remember correctly and chievo I they had a a little ticket office outside the ground. It might have changed but take your passport with you as we needed them to purchase and they print your name on the ticket.

My ex-squaddie mate goes back to watch Stuttgart half a dozen times a year, always buys direct from the club.
He speaks German fluently though, but I should imagine there'll be at least one member of staff at Lazio that speaks English.
As workshy said, always go through the club to avoid being defrauded/conned.
Sabs' suggestion is good if you haven't already got hotels and what-have-you sorted out too.

Germany is pretty much the same as over here yeah just on the websites, going over again next week to watch köln

Thanks everyone - the supporters guide from workshy is particularly useful, with a link in it to buy tickets. My main aim was to avoid getting ripped off, rather than trying to save a few quid, so we'll keep an eye out for when the tickets go on sale. It's the Milan game he's wanting to go to.
I did wonder about packages but I think they'll probably be way more than my son wants to pay for the long weekend away.
Thanks all - I knew I'd get some help from on here!

I was in Rome in October and took my lad to see Lazio. Get the tickets direct or from an authorised reseller, but bear in mind they only release them about two weeks before. Superb atmosphere. We sat in the Tribuna Tevere. Good food and drink options in the stadium. You'll need your passport with you. Also, be prepared - Lazio are not actually a popular side with the overwhelming majority of Romans. They are seen as outsiders. We saw no bother, but just felt it was worth being forewarned.

I've seen Spvgg Unterhaching in the German 3. Liga and Angers in the French second division and both times I went on the day to the ticket office in person.
If you're anticipating a busy fixture, going through the official team website is probably your best bet.

If you're anticipating a busy fixture, going through the official team website is probably your best bet. We've bought tickets on the day in both Canada and South Korea but they were much smaller crowds than the Lazio game could potentially be, so Lazio's website is going to be the best route.

Would agree that buyig direct is only real way to guarantee anything. Bought online for Germany, France and Belgium. Locally one can just walk up at Montpellier and buy on the day. Best to check out the grounds capacity and judge by the avergae crowds.

I bought tickets for Bayern Munich from a tout on a whim - they were still cheaper than most English lower-league games!

I bought for Mainz - Stuttgart in Sept last year directly from the club without issue - third party provider rates are eye watering by comparison and not worth it imho.

Go direct with the club.
It's easier than you might think too. Was able to see both Barcelona and Montpellier in August.
Football quality was poles apart and it was in fact Will Stills Reims who tore Montpellier a new one.
Would really like to see him manage Town.
