I reckon either a defeat here or a draw followed by a defeat against Blackburn will mean Darren saying 'toodle pip'. The owner seems to have read the room. Although it's unlikely he reads the club forums, he'll probably have someone else doing it for him and will know how the majority of us are feeling. If he takes any notice of this forum he must be raving lunatic

Fuck me, the game is still days away and the thread is being polluted by the usual shite. “Fans applauding a loss”, “a 9-1 aggregate score in the last 2 games” (a team cantering to the Championship and the other who swept all before them last season) I know some folk on here won’t be happy until they’re ’proven right’ about DM, but can we at least see how the game pans out on Sat before coming out with the usual guff? No-one wants us to lose. But that's all we seem to do. If we win some games, then there's nowt to moan about. Some will find something to moan about

Lots of emotion on here but we all want the same thing - more or less anyway. The big question is whether or not DM is capable of building a side that’s competitive? The far right have made up their mind based on results, while the far left have decided he’s a nice bloke who should be given until the end of the season. There is no right and wrong because you will never know what the alternative might have been but there will always be consequences which is what we should really be discussing.
What I really disagree with is fans hoping we lose so that he gets sacked and they can say ‘told you months ago’.
It’s Plymouth next and we want a good performance and a result.

Agree its pathetic, whenever we've had bad managers i've always wanted us to win, even if DM did go sometime in the future three points on saturday could potentially be the difference between us staying up or going down come the end of the season.

Good old Stones song comes to mind, 'You can't always get what you want'. I don't suppose Brum wanted to see their team lose even when they had zero confidence in the manager, maybe one or two thought a close defeat to Leicester & a draw away at Plymouth days before Xmas that Rooney had turned the corner, 3 games later he was sacked after losing 3-0 at Lids........I'm sure someone is going to tell how different our situation is & that even if the unthinkable defeat happens on Saturday DM will still be 'the man', but the confidence vote on this forum shows close to zero support, will he still have Kev's at 5pm Saturday if we lose?

If we can't win this one we may as well give up, not many better chances for a win than this one.

Looking forward to Saturday as my only visit to your stadium was some 20 years ago for a rugby league match with my in laws. It's been a tough week or two with Schuey and two decent midfielders leaving but replacements are on the way though probably just the one for Saturday. Our away results have been worse than many of our performances to be fair. We have played 10 of the top 11 away and 2 of the other 3, Preston and Brum were 1st and 5th when we met them early in the season. Whilst we should be able to improve our away results hereon the downside is we have to play most of the top sides at home still. It's looking like 3 from 5 for the drop, you, us and the current bottom three but with Rotherham odds on maybe the QPR news will assist us both? Anyway, here's to a good game. I would gladly take a point to maintain the gap.

Really fancy us on Saturday.
If he plays the new striker and CDM I can see us stuffing them.
They've just sold one of their better players and travel badly, we've just put in 2 of the best league performances for months.
Bookies have us a 4/1 with a -1 handicap - i really think there's legs in that

Sometimes you have to lose to win in the long run. We've done it before to get out of cup runs and facing a certain team in the play offs. I'm not averse to a loss to move Moore on.

Because you have a replacement ready that's better and guaranteed to get better results instantly? Clearly you want him gone, and that's fine I might even agree with you, but I want the 3 points first and then decide if new players and returning players from injury make us look better?

I would gladly take a point to maintain the gap. Enjoy your visit to Huddersfield greeninpiece ! I’m a Town fan from Argyll (sorry not Argyle) in Bonnie Scotland and I love ma trips to Huddersfield or what we all call ‘Huddy’ up here... The drink prices in Huddersfield are quite simply INCREDIBLE they are Outstanding and people back home nearly keel over when I show them some receipts that I’ve took back up here as proof of these awesome prices - The restaurants are really good and the pubs as well in Huddersfield are pure fab as well - I’ve never had a negative experience ever in around 25 visits to Huddersfield ! 😊 (well apart from on the bloody field of play of course) 😬 This is a long shot as Plymouth will be a big place but a lad who grew up on ma old estate on Islay where I stay has long relocated to Plymouth and was in The Navy there and is now a warehouse manager - His name is Donald McGeachy and his son Matthew McGeachy is a teenager and is Plymouth Argyle daft and he’s a season ticket holder at Home Park (I’m not sure if he gets to away games or not)... His sister Liz who we all know and love as ‘Screachy’ (rhymes with McGeachy) is one of ma bestest ever buddies who has been there for me in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad and is engaged to her long term partner and great guy Dougie and they live in the Cambuslang area of Glasgow and Matthew and his dad were up at New Year time - I just thought I’d share that wee story of mine with you anyway... Anyway safe journey up and home as well and enjoy, enjoy Huddersfield - but not on the field of play of course ! Cheers or as we say up here - Slainte Math 🥃 Fae Westie (Huddersfield Town fan) from Islay (The Whisky Isle) in Bonnie Scotland ! 🏴 ⚽️

Really looking forward to this match, now. There are so many - to coin a phrase from DM - energizing items of information surrounding this game to get the fan interested, that this has to be one of the most intriguing games of the season so far:
For us, 2 new players in Matos and Radulovic who have instilled new hope in many Town fans (me included). Bizarrely (on the back of a 5-0 defeat) it's generated new momentum for the forthcoming games. If these two stay fit, you just know we won't be hovering around the relegation zone for too long.
Plymouth coming with a new manager whose achievements are certainly nowt to be sniffed at (manager of U-19 European Championship winners, England - also assistant to Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia, so you wonder how much he must have picked up from him, too)
Read somewhere that Plymouth are the best team outside the top 4 when it comes to scoring goals; however, they are now minus two of their really good players (Azaz and Cundle) - albeit only Azaz was involved in the game at Home Park back in August, if only for a couple of minutes - and we lost that one.
To counter the loss of 2 vital players, they may well have their new loan player Ashley Phillips from Spurs featuring.
Then there'll be Kevin Nagle at the stadium, bravely swapping sunny California for the merciless cold of West Yorkshire in January. The stadium will be heaving, with the fans surrounding him around the beer machines, and asking him about further signings.
Then there's the question of who will get the points. Both sets of fans feel they are in urgent need of them. Can't call it, but just feel it will be a cracking game.

Another loan signing for Plymouth: 19-year old Darko Gyabi on loan from Leeds. They have to be one the youngest sides in the league. Looked on Transfermarkt and they (Plymouth) only have one player over 30! www.bbc.com/sport/football/67948063

Last time we played Plymouth at home in the league (lost in FAC 9/1/20 BCD) was on this day 2011 in a midweek game with freezing (fog) conditions. Next morning we headed to Heathrow for a flight to Melbourne on a month long cricket tour & some blazing hot sun......4th placed Town won 3-2 with goals from Jordan Rhodes, Peter Clarke & OG. The ref was Paul Tierney (Boo), on Saturday referee will be Tom Nield.

Lids-cup Swansea Sunderland Boro Wendies-(ev) Blackburn Norwich Rotherham....next 8 away games after Town, don't envy them.

The sun's blazing here in Adelaide where I've been playing cricket in the garden with the Aussie grandchildren. My son played for Box Hill in Melbourne in 2016-17. Hoping my Town record while in Australia improves this month from its current W3 D4 L13. We do, however, almost always improve after I get back. Just remembered that it was during (at half-time?) a home defeat to Plymouth in 1964 that Eddie Boot resigned.
