I was told last Sunday that he will be out for six weeks. On a slight, but related, tangent - this is where there's a distinct lack of 'fairness' in the system. The Blackburn centre half's assault has left Burgzorg out for a prolonged period, seriously impacting on Town's ability to win points. My understanding is that because he was booked, the incident is considered 'dealt with' and no retrospective action can be taken - although I'm happy to be corrected if that's not the case. However, if he'd elbowed Burgzorg in the face, for instance, then the FA could look at any available footage and punish as they see fit. If memory serves, Dean Saunders fell foul of this 20 odd years ago. Surely, at the very least, it's time to look at this scenario and make a retrospective review possible? The original incident was never just a booking - he was at least 6 feet from the ball and came through the back of Burgzorg too - so a punishment more befitting the crime ought to be able to be applied. I agree with you, it’s so annoying after such a cynical challenge but it doesn’t really help our case that Burgzorg played the rest of the game and even scored for us.
