I thought the fat trimming would start in the summer so I think it’s great that we have managed to move him on now. Now to some of the other surplus players.

Can't recall a single thing he ever did on the pitch.
Good luck to him!

Can't recall a single thing he ever did on the pitch. Good luck to him! Did a pretty good job when asked to man mark by Colin. Apart from that a semi reliable back up.

Gutted. The lad's a fantastic prospect. 25 years of age. Been at the club for 8 years. Like a Simon Baldry 'promising youngster' (at the age of 26). How long do you give someone before you have to say "Sorry, it's not you, it's me"?

Best of luck to him. Never a superstar at Town, but thought some of the criticism was a bit unfair. I do realise this is DATM and everyone’s an expert…

Whole-hearted player who would try whatever you asked him. His failings are well-known, but hopefully now he's going to find his level and thrive. He's a player I wish all the best to and hope he really makes a success of the move.

I think he WAS a great prospect, but hasnt really kicked on as hes got older. Remember when he first broke into the first team he looked like a lad who might go really far in the game and then he went away and really impressed at Rotherham in L1.
But since then hes not developed somehow..Gone backwards really. Not physically strong enough to be a centre back,,not good enough or mobile enough to be a midfielder or full back...not at championship level anyway. Can see him doing well in league 1 though, as he has before. Think thats his level. Good luck to the lad.

Don't see the need to criticise a player on his way out. Was a part of Warnock's 'great escape' team so at least people could show some gratitude for that.
Did his best for us, which sometimes did a job (some midfield man marking jobs last year, Ziam Flemming at Millwall springs to mind) but clearly his presence in the team was a sign of lack of investment and we need to do much better.
Hope he goes on to have a good career.

Anyone else find the comment from Mark Cartwright a bit strange 'as it’s to a good club that is closer to his home in London.' I'm guessing he's meaning from where he grew up, if not that's a crazy distance to travel for training.

Wish him a the best. Never gave anything less than 100%, its a shame he is just behind the pace for this level.
Played a huge role to keep us up last season as the 'floater' and shadow for the oppositions best player.
As others have stated, needs to settle in 1 position.

Wonder if we got a fee of some description? Undisclosed fee apparently. I'm guessing it covers anything we owe REG for this season on his contract. Anything else would be a bonus as I believe he would have been out of contract at the end of the season.

Who was the young black lad that played alongside him as stand in centre halves under CC I think where they both looked like potentially terrific players.

He was more of a victim of the clubs injuries and lack of investment than anything else as he never was able to nail down a position. I wish him good luck, there is definitely a player in there.

Can see him doing well in league 1 though, as he has before. Think thats his level. Good luck to the lad. All the right signs were there with his loans, up to a point. He was just OK when he played in the lockdown season, had a few good games at right back towards the end of that season but otherwise was part of a fairly calamitous defence! Aaron Rowe looked by far the best prospect for us that season, but since then REG has played 30 games for us, and Rowe can't have played much more than 30 minutes! I'm sure Rowe's forthcoming departure won't be met with half as much snark. He was then a key part of a good Rotherham side at centre back in a season where they only conceded 33 goals, so it all looked set for him to step up to Championship level, but he had a crap couple of games there at the start of the season, and hasn't looked at home in that position since, which is bizarre. Then wasn't he shipped out on loan because Schofield wanted rid of Boyle but didn't want to tell him? After coming back he was a relatively useful squad player under Warnock and again this season, but needs moving on for regular game time in one position.

I have far more respect for REG than someone like that cockwomble Pritchard. He always gave his best, as far as I know he didn't cause any issues & he filled in when required. He's not good enough for the Championship but I wish him all the best at Charlton.

I thought he looked a bit better than REG from the handful of games I saw him play, much more aggressive and confident on the ball.

Someone had to go to be able to fit Healey into the 25 squad. Others will also have to go if we intend to bring anyone else in. Surprised that Edwards is still here - maybe we agreed to take him for the full season with no January return option.

Just wish you had gone to a different club than Charlton.
Their fans are wankers.

good luck to him, solid league 1 player. Just wasn't comfortable enough on the ball at Championship level, but should be praised for his effort, honesty and desire. Hope he does well.

Best of luck to REG in his new venture. My summing up of him at Championship level is 'meh...'.
Just one of those players who doesn't seem to have any real key attributes, but I don't think he really ever the let the club down in any tangible way (or displayed a lack of effort) when he played. He'll probably go on to have a decent career at a lower level. When he came back from his spell at Rotherham I thought he'd kick on. Hasn't happened, sadly.
