End of an era at Anfield then. Liverpool will hope the replacement is better than how Arsenal’s replaced Wenger and Man U with .Ferguson They might hope that. I don't. Give it to Slippy Stevie Me 🤣🤣🤣

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is to step down from the role at the end of the season, saying he is "running out of energy".

May 19th, last bin dippers home game of the season. Hopefully the supporters, Sky, and the rest of the media drown in a sea of their own jizz. Peter Drury to come up with his most painful 5 minute soliloquy to introduce the match, I can hear it already

It will be an orgy of how 'special' Liverpool and anything to do with them is. On Shankly, Im sure I watched a documentary about 'the boot room' ( being Liverpool it has its own 'special' identity) and it said Shankly didnt really want to resign when he did but did so because of some misunderstanding about his pension. I think he still used to turn up to watch the training until he was banned.

They love a bit of mawkish oversentimentality at Anfield. It'll be even worse than usual then 🤮 A re write of YNWA by Elton John to mark the occasion? Bloody hell. I pride myself on music knowledge and was frantically trying to identify that Elton John song, until the penny dropped.

I've been watching Town since 1994 and as far as I can recall, Colin is the only manager who's left the club for positive reasons. Every permanent manager we've had in my time has either been sacked or resigned for negative reasons or while the chic is in poor form.
I can only think of Corberan, Wagner and Warnock who've actually had the chance to resign, everyone else I think has been sacked. Even then, Corberan left because he felt he wasn't given sufficient backing, Wagner left when our relegation was a formality and Warnock left this season with the team in a shit position.
Just once it would be nice to lose a manager not because they've been sacked, but because they've earned a move elsewhere or they've just decided they want a different challenge.

He's been at 5 clubs though and only one of them has sacked him for poor performance.

I was listening to a bit of 5live in the car earlier. Some local journalist in Liverpool saying that she’d seen some people crying in the city centre.
These people really need to get some fecking perspective in their lives. A bloke who earns £m’s every year has decided to call it a day, nobody’s died FFS…
This sort of shite seems prolific in modern life, nothing between their ears…

Pretty sure Eion Hand resigned and Mark Robins definitely did. Corborns probably the only one who was poached , if as seems likely, he was.

Wasnt long before Buxton was back effectively managing the team with Ross as manager in name only.

On a more ‘serious’ note, it seems like odd timing. Is it something he wanted, or did the club ask him to go public?
When your team is challenging as they are, this just feels like it could go either way. Embolden the players to dig in and give him a send off, or they could drop off and cut the title race contenders by a third.
The only 2 times I can recall this happening previously, were Fergie & Wenger.
Maybe it’s just symptomatic of the soap opera that the PL has become?

Dortmund dropped like a stone after he announced he was leaving, so here's hoping lightning strikes twice.

Wasnt long before Buxton was back effectively managing the team with Ross as manager in name only. Ross went behind Hand’s back to the chairman and talked himself into the job. Was all covered in an interview with Starbuck He was soon obviously clearly out of his depth with poor management skills so Buxton came and saved the day.
