Thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It’s clear that Moore really held us back as an attacking team. We gave them a scare but unfortunately their bench was better than ours. UTT. Absolutely...had a right go but just beaten by a slightly better team It doesn't even feel like a loss Very proud of the lads and the way they approached the game..Real entertainment

To the Thick twat, 11 on the pitch, 1 goalie 5 defenders. 5 midfield. = 11 players not 12, got it! So why, Einstein, are you the only person in the world that has the goalie in the formation or do you think any team that plays 442 are only playing with 10 men 🙄 Jesus fucking wept, you lot on here are so defensive when it comes to your Team? The team that caved in after 45 mi utes

Well known formation 👍

Credit where it’s due, this is the kind of post that you’ve been pilloried for not posting in the emotional aftermath of another defeat. Hopefully Kev’s inbox won’t be overflowing tonight.

I thought the first half was excellent, best half of the season.
Think we are fooling ourselves to class the second half as unlucky though. 1 fluke of of goal scored 5 conceded Naive would be more accurate.

The team that caved in after 45 mi utes I asked you earlier to give reasons why you waited until after the game, to voice your opinions, still without giving evidence? All you have done is criticise the team and anyone who disagrees with you. This is fair evidence that you sir are a fucking halfwit, who knows fuck all about football. See, that's how you insult people - you give evidence as to why you have that opinion of them. Patronising them (that means talking down, if you don't understand) is just icing on the insult.

It's always fun to come to the forum post match and read people tear lumps out of each other. I didn't see any of the match though it sounds like it was a step in the right direction ? Absolutely. Played with freedom and real attacking intent. Made proper use of Thomas, Koroma and Kasumu and had a real go at Southampton. Matos impressed as well. They overwhelmed us at times in the second half but we never gave up and fought back superbly when they made it 2-2. Definitely bodes well for the future if the new manager can harness the talent we have in the squad.

From saints board Want to give credit to Huddersfield too, they really went for it and forced us into a lot of errors. Probably the best side I've seen at SMS this season aside from maybe Leicester, but we just had too much for them in the end. Shows just how good we can be Said it all along we have players in our squad to be better than relegation contenders just need proper instructions and be played in a formation to suit. Plenty of optimism going into 2 home games against sides who yes are higher up but I've not been impressed with when seen them on the box both pkay tip tap football get after them like today they don't have the quality saints have

Some people really need to get over themselves and stop bickering like children. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, albeit people don't need to have a go at others while giving their opinion. It's a bit embarassing really, and certainly unnecessary.

From the match related posts on here it sounds like the scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story.
Hopefully a decent crowd on Wed whoever is in charge.
My days of starting match threads is now over for this season…

What did we get from the game today Zero points. Great entertainment. Shows how we can play if we try to win. In spite of the loss we can all (apart from someone in Cyprus) see that DM has been holding the team back. We look like we could be fitter. We don't have the strength in depth or the quality that Southampton do. Subs could have been made earlier.I was proud to support Town today and I have not been able to say that much with DM in charge. We have been in a long decline since Dean was ill, it will take some time to stop the decline in quality we have at the club and replace the older players in the squad. Any earlier and we would probably have conceded more than we did. Squad depth is the difference. We can't put that amount of effort in for full 90 mins. We needed quality on the bench, which we don't have at the moment. Bloody proud of the lads today.....!!!

Stick to selling dodgy watches to tourists and ogling middle aged housewives you fucking melt Disgusting post It's no worse than several of your posts in the last hour, if you're going to dish it out you have to be able to take it too. I've had a quick look at your profile and you aren't usually this negative, so I hope whatever's getting you down today improves. Maybe go for a walk and clear your head, eh? Even Arterrier has been pretty positive about the performance today, which should tell you everything about the prevailing attitude. I've been called a happy clapper in the past for trying to see the positives, but the last time the whole board was so overwhelmingly positive was probably after Crystal Palace in 2017. In a way I share your frustration at the result and at having let the game slip away from a good position, and I certainly don't think we all have to agree... but after months of being bored stiff by Moore-ball, seeing us take the game to one of the top teams in the division is a breath of fresh air. By the way, you're the one who started the name-calling by calling anyone who was talking about the positives stupid/crazy- so acting all butt-hurt when you get some back isn't a good look.

It's a bit embarassing really, and certainly unnecessary. There ought to be an entrance exam to post on DATM... to sort out the really stupid people. But... they do make me laugh!

Feels a bit like the Boro game when Wagner arrived which we also lost.
A total change in mood at the club from one performance.
This appointment needs to be right because it's absolutely make or break. Someone needs to come in and ride the coat tails of this new attitude.

Haven’t seen Town play like that for a long time

As for quality we got some more bodies through the door in January, but not quite the championship standard ready players we were calling for. They may turn out to be, but we didn't want more of Deans signing that took a season to get up to speed.
