Think this is what we are probably going to need to stay in the league. That would finish us on 56 points. Can’t believe how tight it is this season. Great point today against the scum. Hopefully we can keep putting in these performances and the lads certainly seem to be playing for André. Certainly don’t want to be going to Ipswich on the final day needing 3pts that’s for sure. Let’s start with another 3pts against Cardiff on Wednesday please boys. Utt.

There are just too many teams down there - at least two more than Rotherham are gonna go on a shite run.

Another March, another go on The Fishy league predictor trying to do a feasible but pessimistic set of results. I've got us finishing on 53, with 47 enough to stay up.

It's about 1.07 points a game at the moment, so 50 points should just be enough.
Two wins this week would help massively.

Won't take more than 50 to stay up in my opinion.

Rotherham are dead and buried. It's tighter than a duck's chuff down there, great for the neutral, not great for our collective hearts.
We will do it before the Ipswich game easily.

Just been running through all the bottom teams remaining fixtures and hazarding a guess as to how results might pan out. It's a right mug's game doing that but I got some sort of idea as to which team had the tougher run-in. I think Blackburn have perhaps the toughest on paper. They have to play all the top 4 and only face 1 of the bottom 6. I think 53 or 54 points might be required. Posh went down with 54 a few seasons back

keep us up? I think we still need another 15 out of a possible 33 to be safe but the way things are playing out, even that might not be enough. Thoughts? Soon we will have more threads on this topic than actual points required.

Loads of games between the bottom 12 to come, meaning plenty of dropped points guaranteed. 50 max.

With so many teams in the mix, there's a higher number of matches involving two of those teams and therefore someone's gotta drop points. Could result in a record high survival total or see a couple of teams fall away quite easily. At the moment it's looking like the former.
The fact that Watford are already on 44 points yet only 6 above relegation is ridiculous. In most recent seasons they'd only need a couple more points to be safe.

I am sure the fans of all the teams around the bottom half think they are going to stay up. Wednesday are in good form. Won 4 from 5 since losing to us. QPR in good form and Millwall have won twice since Harris returned. 2 sides to go down with Rotherham but I wouldn't know which 2 to pick. We are only out of the bottom 3 on goals scored but yet plenty on here so confident we will stay up.

Put it this way. Even if we averaged the same PPG for the rest of the season as we did under Moore, that'd give us 10 points from the remaining 12, and put us on 48. I would be absolutely astonished if we don't get more than that, we've been picking up points like an upper midtable side since he left. Even that might be enough but I suspect that'll be about the points that 22nd get.
If we pick up our PPG average from the last 10 games (which includes some from Moore), we'll pick up 15 points and finish on 53. Barring a 2012-13 type finish (P'boro of course went down with 54 while we had our love in with Barnsley), that'd be plenty. But there's too many 6 pointers left for the threshold to be that high, it'd require the bottom 1/3 of the league all going on crazily good runs. With Breitenreiter I have every confidence we'll be fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if we did dip into the bottom 3 in the coming weeks, but I'd also be surprised if we weren't safe before the final weekend of the season. It's going to take 52/53 points to make sure, unless sides really do have a catastrophic lack of form (and given what Blackburn are doing at the moment...).
Everyone other than Rotherham, who threatening their 2017 points record of 23 on their current run, has at least a point a game, which is very unusual. Sheffield Wednesday have come back from the dead since we beat them, which is annoying. All to play for.

Please don't let it go to the last game of the season with us needing a result at Ipswich which would also promote Leeds.

Please don't let it go to the last game of the season with us needing a result at Ipswich which would also promote Leeds. We promoted them last time when we got a late winner v West Brom (smith rowe) if you remember, can’t say I even gave Leeds a second thought when that went in!

Just shows how terrible Moore was should be well out of this Said it a couple weeks back but if we are ultimately relegated this season, the blame lies squarely at Moore’s door plus the moron(s) that appointed him. Play like we have been doing though and I think we will survive.

Can't believe that set of results yesterday. All of a sudden everybody has started playing like Barcelona, but a few who probably thought they were safe are now right in the mix. Blackburn and Birmingham must be sweating now.
Hate to say it but we need Leeds to do us a few favours now.

I haven't looked at the remaining teams run ins (it would take all day!) but you'd have to say we have one of the easier ones. In April we play Stoke, Millwall, Bristol City, Swansea and Birmingham before the final day at Ipswich. It's unlikely that all 5 of the above will still be in the mix but you never know.

Looking at our remaining games, if we blow it then we’ve only ourselves to blame.

We’ve still got Millwall Swansea Birmingham at home and Rotherham Stoke and Bristol City away . All those are in a relegation battle from what I can see .
I’m not saying we’ll get 18 points but I’d expect a reasonable return (10-12) from them .
Other clubs down there are playing each other too making it likely we’ll see some more ups and downs as we go through the run in .
However , it’s all in our own hands and I’m confident playing like we have since Wednesday at home , we’ll be fine.

Looking at our remaining games, if we blow it then we’ve only ourselves to blame. Agree with this, although I’d also add we’d possibly deserve it on the basis of appointing and persevering with Moore.

These are the current ppg over the last 6, 8, 10 and 12 games: 6 games, 10 points, 1.67 ppg, points total 56 8 games, 12 points, 1.5 ppg, points total 55 10 games 13 points, 1.3 ppg, points total 52 12 games, 16 points, 1.33 ppg, points total 53
10 and 12 games takes us back into Moore's reign. It might be close but our form would have to collapse to our seasons average ppg or below. With the way we are playing can you see a collapse in form?

We won’t need 6 wins to stay up. A lot of the remaining fixtures have teams playing against each other so points will be dropped.
We’ve navigated some difficult fixtures recently and I do think we have the better fixtures compared to most around us. That said, anyone can beat anyone in this league after what has happened the last couple of weeks. Ultimately, it’s in our hands and only ourselves to blame if we drop from this position.
