And... I told you the point I was making, and why. You seem to going off on a tangent, focusing on things that I've not even bought up. So why quote my post to make a reply (and also the 2nd post which you said you quoted the wrong one) if you didn't want to comment on what I was actually saying? I've explained what I said. I've no idea how that's going off on a tangent. I was also correcting what you claimed I said, which I didn't. I can't be arsed arguing. Think what you want. I have no idea what I claimed you said which you didn't. No idea at all. This all started because you claimed Town finishing 3rd under Corberan was a fluke. Utter bollocks in my opinion.

His football was as dull as ditchwater though mate TBF ART I'd take dull as ditchwater and a 3rd place finish compared to the other options we've had since the PL. In a heartbeat. ...& TBF was it ever that dull? Moore was f*****g dull (& sh*8te), never viewed Carlos in the same light and doing what he did with that squad (who finished low in the table before & since) suggests a decent manager to me.

Ian Ross, Lou Macari and Lee Clark all lost in the play-offs, wonder if they're classed as successes, or is it just Corberan? Maybe judging the talents of a football manager is slightly more nuanced than ‘he finished in that position so he’s the same ability as someone else who finished in the same position’ If he was so talented, surely he'd have got us up? No-one is saying he didn't do a good job, but fuck me the way everyone goes on about him, you'd think he was Brian Clough, Alex Ferguson, Bob Paisley and Arsene Wenger rolled into one. Anyone that gets a team to 3rd and into a play-off final has done a good job, but why is there the constant exaggeration that he's akin to this super world class manager?

It was incredibly dull, but it got results. If we played like that and didn't get results, everyone would have called it for what it was. Dull. And it didn't ever need to be, as on the odd occasion he actually tried to play football that season, we did well and it was enjoyable. Though that was few and far between, and probably amounted to about three games that season. Personally, sitting back on 1-0 leads, playing for set-pieces and timewasting in the first half and getting the goalkeeper booked for more timewasting ain't my idea of entertainment. But that's just me.

He probably is a better manager than I give credit for, he probably proved that today by switching around at half time. But, it was never sustainable because he was never going to be backed to improve on that 3rd place finish at Town.

If you don't think coming third in the Championship with the squad we had at the time is an achievement, then we have very different views on what achievement is. You are of course entitled to your view, but I respectfully disagree. 😄 It was all built on fakery and fraud, achievements in football is about winning things, not losing play offs. This is the kind of attitude that has held the club back for years, that failure is acceptable and that's why we're in this mess. In you think success is measured in losing play off finals you crack on mate. I’d sure as shit take losing in the playoffs to flirting with relegation. To think failure is losing in the play off final 🤣 we could be playing Mansfield next year - that is failure.

Changing the subject slightly, I’m not sure I can recall a ball hit as hard as that for their third.
I’ve seen better goals (e.g. Tony Carss) but can’t recall a ball hit as hard as that.
Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? You could hear the connection of boot to ball in the stands. Don’t think I’ve seen a better struck shot .

I wanted a couple of subs at half time because I know we cant keep that intensity because two or 3 simply cant do it. It might be a brave move when 1 up and in truth an opposition who havent mounted a serious attack in 45 mins but the manager should know his players and make changes because of that, not the score or how its gone up to half time.. Once we stepped off and they could get the ball to half way and beyond without too much trouble we were in danger. The goals bar the 3rd werent great and had a decision and some fortune but 4 corners in as many minutes told what was coming. I dont know if Balker could have come on for Lees or Matos for Hogg, maybe Koroma on for Burzog etc but intensity got us to half time, perspiration not inspiration was key. You dont have to play 90 minutes when you have 5 subs. You can be winning and doing ok and make subs..

Not sure what’s shocking when a shit side lose to a top side?….. Depends what you mean by top? Top 6 / play off contending side / one of the most successful teams in the division

All opinions, depending on where you sit or watch. Real time I thought it was on. After seeing replays, it is offside. Annoying. But I think it was very close and any football fanatic would want advantage to the attacker. Where were you to think it was onside? Can only think behind the goal or getting a pint! It was clearly offside. Didn’t need a replay to check. Incompetence from the linesman who looked clueless all game I was sat bang in line with it in Lower Tier. In real time I thought it was onside and he'd run through a few Town players. I haven't checked how close it was when frozen. Perhaps he was miles off...doesn't matter much at this stage really

Any suggestions? The only one I can remember that was definitely harder hit was someone playing for Carlisle, at home in the mid to late 2000s, scored at the Panasonic end. Was 35 yards or so out and the ball hitting the net lifted the entire bottom of the net upwards and shook the outside stanchions.

Folk slagging off Burgzorg seem to completely ignore how frustrating Rudoni is! Never known a player with such a pathetic shot and lack of quality when in a dangerous position. So wasteful. Massively overhyped in my opinion.

Rudoni has massive potential but he needs dropping to the bench. Players sometimes need a kick up the Arse to guide them in the right direction for there own good,he's been hyped up too much in my opinion. That doesn't mean to say he is a shit footballer quite the opposite but sometimes,a reality check is needed.

I'm starting to think he needs to be benched. Such a huge part of how we play, sees a lot of the ball but consistently failing to produce anything of note and consistently fluffs any chances he gets. We need players scoring when not expected to not consistently missing when expected to score.

If we drop Rudoni we drop the only decent midfield player we have. We know what Hogg brings which is fairly, and increasingly, limited, and I've never really worked out what Kasumu brings - his first touch is bloody awful and there's not a creative bone in his body . At least Rudoni gives 100% to whatever position he's asked to play Yes, his finishing is poor but he'll still score and assist literally masses more than Hogg and Kasumu put together. I'm assuming for this that Sorba is counted as a forward?

I would go as far as to say, I can't think of one manager in the top 4 divisions who would have made changes at HT on the back of that 1st half performance.!? Nor would I expect them to!

A massively satisfying result for Carlos Corberan, who showe how to adapt to a potential losing performance at half time. He was shafted royally by the club’s owners after massively overachieving by getting to the playoff final. Having proved himself, he asked for backing in the summer transfer window, he was knocked back and told to concentrate on the training pitch - a huge insult. Any manager with ability and integrity would have walked as he did, held held high. The club should be ashamed of the way he was treated.

At least one Town fan was happy with the result yesterday then. Just a question, why did Carlos Corberan resign after the Fulham match in February 2022?

It's like some of these people are more fans of Carlos Corberan than they are of Huddersfield Town. Managers and players come and go, and once they've gone, they've gone.
